This bright light goes by the handle Bascove.  She is a New York Artist and she and her architect husband have a grand ole’ tyme researching her subjects.  I think they do very well.

MMM 226: Push it down or improve it

Some gave all, all gave some.  Many of my kin served, but the only death I know of was in the Civil War, a great great great great great uncle who was 45 when he died, and wasn’t in combat.  I remember that today, but know nothing else about him.  Who and what do you remember?

This almost looks like cosplay, but I haven’t seen whatever show it might be.

Saturday Shakespearean Sonnet

Let’s just get this out of the way right upfront:

Okay, now that we’ve dispensed with that, on to the poetry:

O, fake internet friends, how they slack off
When the long week’s toil is done and ended.
Whether they do Crossfit or just jack off,
The blog on weekends moulders, unamended.
Exceptions come, sometimes, from our Jimbro
Or if the Puppeh isn’t chasing tail.
But too often we are stuck in limbo
And Friday’s buxom freshness starts to fail.
I know well that all of you have lives
While weekends find me cloistered here at work.
But thirty-some hours on a poat is jive—
Yeah, “jive” is weak; you write the next poem, jerk!
So ends my verse, now let comments commence,
And maybe push this down some hours hence.

Here we are, Thursday again. Is Thursday the most boring day of the week or is it one of the other ones? Tuesday? Really, no one cares, time to shut my pie hole. Let’s begin with a fine performance from a band I’ve had the fortune to see twice in my life. Once at UAB where I got stood up by a southern belle when I was doing a one month rotation there and the other time at a place in Worcester called the Memorial Auditorium with my brother who did not leave me wondering where the hell he was since we walked there together.

Blah, Blah, tele-blah.  I could go on and on.

MMM 225: So many irons in the fire

So there’s a chance of a job in South Bend, Potential Future Bossman is coming up to teach a class and have lunch with me next week, and the company that owns the building my previous company used to own but I got kicked out of when the new company bought it might want to employ me after all.

I thought about how I’d say that sentence in Spanish and then got a headache so I stopped.

Anyhow, there’s an ever-increasing chance of me escaping the auto industry.  Unfortunately, I’ve now been there so long that I’m going to feel a not-insignificant amount of guilt in leaving.  I don’t think it will have an extreme impact on the project in any event, but it’s possible I’ll leave some hurt feelings in my wake.  I still have no passion for the program (and occasional bouts of outright antipathy), so it’s still the right thing to do.

Weather’s good, Tri-Adventure Race is behind me, multiple tiny slivers hope for the future whether it means a move or not.  Glass status: half full.
