Weather update: Years ago, we had a horrible drought wherein it literally did not rain a single drop from March all the way until September. After writing a five-figure check for foundation repair, I vowed that I would never complain about rain ever again.
So that’s all I have to say.
Rescue Lizard is out of doors again. When I opened the container to put some food in she charged into the gap and skittered out onto the floor after squirting out of my grasping hand. I scooped her up with a dustpan and dumped her outside. Some lizards you just can’t tame I guess. I was going to get a nicer enclosure and supplies at Petsmart today but her suicide run saves me the trouble.

Man, grey day with aggressive driving mist today, and not long after it cleared up, sunset at 4:23. And the days will be getting shorter for almost another month yet. Eeesh.
On the other hand, we were productive today. Home depot (madhouse), food shopping, Scott completed an overdue home repair, and I got the first floor windows winterized and will do the second floor tomorrow. It already feels better in here.
I’m going back to mom’s to get some of her leftovers tomorrow. AND today I bought a little turkey and the ingredients for my mom’s stuffing recipe to whip up over the weekend. It’s going to be a long ass Thanksgiving in this house.

Mrs. Peel, your mom was a year ahead of me at LPHS, but we were in a few extracurricular clubs together; we also were in some classes and clubs together in Junior High (we may have been in Girl Scouts together in Elementary School, but that was over 50 years ago, so I don’t remember if she was in Scouts or not; there were quite a few of us!). Your aunt MG and my younger sister were pretty good friends from elementary school on. Don’t know if I ever met your dad or not. Again, I am so sorry for your loss – I know that you had mentioned his ill health previously, but I didn’t know if this was expected (cancer, etc.) or not. It’s never easy, no matter how it happens.
