Good morning, and welcome to today’s edition of Hunky Hump Day.
Another classic song. When the Iranian hostages were being released, this was briefly in heavy rotation. Mom had the kitchen radio set to a particular station, and they quit playing it entirely. I actually got through on the request line (a very rare feat, I think I only did it one other time in 10 years of trying) and asked for it. The DJ answered, “Good God, no” and hung up on me.
Now for the hunks.
Probably a repeat of Gerard Butler.
Funny mouth.

And that will have to do.

I can’t wait for the first story about a dude wearing a skirt being celebrated for IWD because you know, just like racist menus during Black History Month, it’s inevitable
Paula switched back to 7-7 and she goes to the 0500 CrossFit class which means a super early wake up. I’m on coffee #2 already.

The Biden Death Pool is very interesting. I count myself among those who thought he’d be long gone by now. I can’t remember my initial prediction but know it wasn’t 2023 or beyond.
I’ve seen the theory, which I greet with a ton of skepticism, that Brandon’s dementia is all an act. By portraying him as out of touch and losing his mind the people really controlling the machinations of the deep state can accomplish more behind the scenes.
All of the 3D Chess maneuvering is so hard to believe. While I do believe a lot of the so called conspiracy theories are real (CBDC’s, WHO desire for pandemic take over of sovereign nations, elites desire for one world government, etc.), I don’t think they’re the well oiled machine that they’re portrayed as in the conservative media.
Forecast is for a balmy 42 degrees today and in the 40’s for the next few days. Warmer days and freezing nights will really get the sap flowing IYKWIM

I sure do, Jimbro. *licks lips in anticipation*
I remember on a school field trip to VT long ago, buying a piece of real maple candy. It was my first time.
I have determined that scorzonera- a REAL vegetable, Pupster- must be absolutely delectable, not because I have eaten any, but because it is the only veggie that has been dug up and eaten by…probably a vole?- in my greenhouse. I babied these two plants since last Spring because I wanted to try it out, heard good things about it, etc. It was not to be.
This year I’m starting it in tall plastic tubs that I know they don’t climb.
Nice thing about it is that, like beets, it’s a root vegetable with palatable leaves, too. I at least got to eat some of those before they disappeared.
Two conical holes where they once stood. *shakes head*
Strategery. I need better strategery. I need to learn greenhouse management stuff.
Today is the start of the 7th day of the diet, and except for 100% booze elimination I haven’t been too severely strict on the keto but still I can tell by my clothes that I have dropped some weight already. IF is amazing. Amazing. Wish I had actually weighed myself at the start, but I didn’t think of it.
After the weekend I will move into severely strict phase. It’s good to induce change in stages.
Wakey wakey.
That lynching deplorables article – my takeaway thought (pre-coffee) is that the left seems to want Trump back. Because doing all this bullshit makes me want Trump to run again.
Today is day 3 of Half-marathon training. I first followed some into stuff, then hill work, then 8 weeks (!) of 10K training. Moving to half marathon (another 8 weeks) then full marathon training. In three months I have the Ragnar ultra (34 miles or so), so that should work pretty perfectly.
The first series I did was Rapa Nue (Easter Island). Tommy Rivs. The MAN.
Right now we’re in Bolivia which – the cities? SHit. Hole. It’s like running through the ghetto.
Yesterday I learned (during my run) about the San Pedro prison (we ran by it).
“San Pedro prison or El penal de San Pedro (Saint Peter’s Prison) is the largest prison in La Paz, Bolivia and is renowned for being a society within itself. Significantly different from most correctional facilities, inmates at San Pedro have jobs inside the community, buy or rent their accommodation, and often live with their families. The sale of cocaine base to visiting tourists gives those inside a significant income and an unusual amount of freedom within the prison walls. Elected leaders enforce the laws of the community, commonly through stabbing. The prison is home to nearly 3,000 inmates (not including the women and children that live inside the walls with their convicted husbands), with additional guests staying in the prison hotel”
I’m trying a new squash. I’m just going to have to link it.

What that ‘lynching the deplorables’ article doesn’t acknowledge is that in order for the Right to deal the Left what they have been dishing out, the entire corrupt lefty-infested bureaucracy needs to be overthrown and restaffed with corrupt rightwingers who would be willing to violate the constitution in the same manner.
That’s crazy looking, let me knowhow it tastes. I think the prevailing wind in my yard would mean I would have to plant it against a support. Pretty cool, though. Too bad it’s a hybrid, or I’d ask you to save seeds!

Carin is in Bolivia?
Yes.
I would hope not, Lauraw. But this bullshit resonates with the “drain the swamp” crowd and folks who believe that only Trump can make changes.
I was drifting off to sleep the other day and had an idea about how to help hospitals function more effectively, possibly even in a state of excellence.
Right now, a lot of MBAs are overwhelmingly the admins in hospitals, running the places into the ground. It’s totally imbalanced in terms of ideology of running a hospital, which is really not like other businesses. People who know how to run a widget factory for max efficiency are bound to fuck up a caring profession.
So they need more people in the health/ caring professions in admin. But you can’t let them run the place either.
What hospital leadership needs is a system where these two types are deliberately pitted against each other in perpetual conflict. The nice thing about conflict is, it makes people go back to the drawing board and come up with creative ways of accomplishing their goals. So the health/caring side can’t just keep throwing money and staff at shit, but the MBAs can’t also keep cutting staff to the bone and leaving patients in unsafe/ uncared for situations, which is what is going on right now.
Then I remembered I’ll never be in a position again to make a difference in that field, and I fell asleep.
Did you guys see that Mayor Adams is asking people to stop wearing masks because criminals are using them to hide their identity.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT???
It takes a supergenius-level intellect to solve these intractable puzzles, Carin.
We should make young women watch this. Specifically the “the 20’s are for having fun” types.
Bolivian Marching Squash is illegal in all 50 states, you ought to bring a few kilos back
My buddy was texting me about a few administrators leaving my former hospital for other, presumably, greener pastures. I think you’ll see a lot of that in the next couple of years as hospitals deal with the financial mess that their lockdowns created. It won’t solve anything because they were just as much a part of the problem as the people in the positions they’re newly occupying were but they’re coming in with a “fresh vision” (next slide please)
This is all perfectly normal and factually correct.
That was terrifying to watch
Make the left OWN all of this.
About 10 years ago there was academic discussion about the use of puberty blockers on children with severe disabilities who required total care for every aspect of their lives. Lifting a 50 pound child several times daily versus a 180 pound adolescent or adult might mean an aging parent could care for their child in their own home for decades longer.
Scott and I are debating if those ’embryos’ she had with her ex were aborted, or if they were stored and she used them all up with unfruitful implantation attempts?
Failed implantations or it’s possible that he got custody and didn’t want her to try and have his kids after throwing him out of her life.
“Will I even be able to see them?”
“No, I want to do this without you.”
“Go do it without me, then.”
The thing that struck me is that young people just don’t seem to understand that all these thing they may want in life exist on a TIME frame. One not dictated by you. And that just perhaps you should think about the big issues early in life.
Overarching theme behind much of leftism is a tragic depth of belief in the existence of consequence-free actions.
It’s the same fallacy underpinning the “fiscal conservative, social liberal” peeps.
That was poorly written but you get me
Crazy embryo chick probably got a court injunction against her. The Ex said not those eggs, because she’ll probably try and get more money out of him.
And I’m Glad You Asked chicky has all sorts of fun Tik Toks

Car in is right, we have limited time for things, and just because you want something doesn’t mean everything else is put on hold.
You need to think about what you really want – instead of just following the cultural stream – and KNOW that it often is a “either /or” not an “and”.
Also, most people I know who work, and worked hard for a particular job that they CHOSE … after a few years, would opt out of that job if they could. Which, fine. My point is that if you give up kids for a career … that may not play out as you thought.
The legal issues surrounding the intersection of IVF and family law and estate law are fascinating. Men in particular need to be cautious about getting involved in IVF if their marriage is shaky. They can be held responsible for child support for children that get implanted after divorce, and their estate plans can be disrupted by children implanted after their death. In neither case, did they consent to having those children at the time they were implanted. Their consent was obtained years earlier under totally different circumstances. , I suspect some courts will be hesitant to honor any contract analogous to a pre-nup for such things.
Imagine that your ex suddenly has 5 or 6 or a dozen viable embryos to take out of cryogenic storage and take to term years after you are divorced. And the ex does not necessarily have to give birth themself but could hire surrogates.
maybe society is falsely putting more merit on certain paths, to further certain outcomes? Its great for business and govt when everyone is working. Can’t tax a mom staying at home educating her kids. And mom is usually happier at that too!

The Tucker Carlson stuff is interesting. The cucks at Hot Air are totally predictable in that they think everyone should be prosecuted for criminal tresspassing. This isn’t who we are™.
But how do you trespass when someone invites you in and then says they were too scared to confront you to leave…and then you left of your own accord?
I can’t remember my initial prediction but know it wasn’t 2023 or beyond.

I suppose people should be charged … that’s what? I ticket? It’s the scope and scale of how they are treating these people. Two years in prison awaiting trial? The cucks are WILLFULLY ignoring facts because they are so invested in their never-trumperism.
I mean, also – have they declared “this isn’t who we are” about about a MILLION other things? Nope. Just this.

So, I have a question for all of you racists.
If you take all of South America, all of Central America, all of Africa, most of Asia (except Japan and South Korea), and the India subcontinent, and look at the countries therein, they are all third world shitholes.
Then if you look at Europe, North America (except messico), and Australia/New Zealand, they are first world civilizations.
Why did all of these people of color invent everything then give it all to why pepo, instead of keeping some for themselves?
because we keep conquering them, us violent whiteys
i like how they keep saying the judges are Reagan appointees.
How long have these fossils lived in DC, with all those democrats and lobby money?

People are so effen funny. And by funny I mean stupid.

heh, I saw that car in, and laughed.
keep in mind that most people are going to continue to think Tucker is lying, because the media blitz is working.
The first series I did was Rapa Nue (Easter Island).

Exactly how big is Easter Island? Marathon length? More importantly, is it a 3rd World Shithole?
they have big stone heads just laying around! it’s obviously white supremacy
As I was driving around this morning I heard the start of NPR’s “On Point” with host Megan Chocoverdy or however that’s spelled and the topic was Covid natural immunity. When even NPR is covering natural immunity you know the narrative has shifted. She did mention a major factor in the delayed recognition of natural immunity was our fractious political environment – um no Megan, it was liberals like you

I was invited on Tucker Carlson’s show.
I will agree to go on after Tucker Carlson admits to his viewers live on air that he has been lying to them about the 2020 elections and about what happened on January 6th.
It’s not big. Looking it up it says 63 square miles. We did a lot of beach/water runs and ran through the park. Checked out all the Moai.
It’s not a shithole. It’s super remote.
Why did all of these people of color invent everything then give it all to why pepo, instead of keeping some for themselves?
Huwhite pepo stole it all and made them forget!
I get sleepy listening to NPR. so soothing
They just discovered another smaller sized head laying in an area of former swampland which has dried up.
Normally this discovery would be a cause for celebration but global warming has given the giant stone heads the sads
How did you get there from Bolivia, car in?
Bolivia series started with a run outside of a city – so that was nice. THen we ran in a city. Honestly. RIvs said he was a little scared when he first got there, and he’s spent a lot of time in South America in general (lived there, speaks a bunch of languages).
Current Goldstein on my work splash page is Tucker Carlson. No surprise there.
The super remote part of Easter Island is what gets me. How the heck did they make all those giant heads in the middle of freaking nowhere using primitive technology?
First person who says aliens has to lick Buttigieg’s taint
I started on Rapa Nui. Then it was Swiss Alps. Then I “went” to the Balkens (4 weeks) and Canary Islands (4 weeks -named after the dog, not the bird). Now I’m in Bolivia for four weeks and then Japan.
If you do the series, you’ll find out how they made ’em …
I will tell you this … sometimes they made ’em and when they tried to move them they’d fall over and break … so they had to start over.
laura, found your lunch when you’re done with your fast
So far – this was my favorite place:
The fuck are you running?
The only people left in the Deadpool are sobek, brother taint, and me.
Huh, who knew?
https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/perro-de-presa-canario/
I’ve heard of the breed before, usually in news reports after they kill someone, but never knew they were also called Canary Dogs.
Sharyl Atkisson is usually reliable, will be interesting to see if something develops:
I would wager that’s not correct.
Lauraw, are you doing a strict keto diet? For how long? Tell me more, I’d enjoy the inspiration.
MJ – it’s my new treadmill. It’s got training programs and it’s amazing.
Carin, can you link it?
sounds ghey
“The only people left in the Deadpool are sobek, brother taint, and me.”
Wow, I’m still in? Huh.
“MJ – it’s my new treadmill. It’s got training programs and it’s amazing.”
Those are cool. I ran somewhere in New Zealand (Aukland?).
The running stuff mare? It’s called iFit and it’s an app that comes on many cardio equipment or even just on your phone. Mine is linked to my machine, but I can do other workouts on my tv or phone – ab or yoga workouts.
ifit.com I think is the website. This is my favorite trainer – he does not just about running related issues, but loves to talk history and geology about the places we run. He just recently recovered from lung cancer so has done a bunch of beginner “recover” series runs that people are raving about:
Thanks, Carin.
It cool because when linked it changed the speed and incline of your machine to match where you are running, or if you’re doing intervals, etc.
It changes the run to time domains rather than distance, unless of course you can keep up with the trainer (narrator’s voice – Carin can not). lol.
Today’s run is an hour long but relatively flat. Thank GOD. It seems I’m often running up hill for 30 minuets straight. There are some intervals, but I don’t think very long ones.
Is there a run through Chandler Park?
Is there a cupholder and nacho tray on the new treadmill?
Tucker Carlson Tonight
Heh.
MJ, what is the Goldstein stuff?
Anyone who thinks it will make more sense to NOT see the tapes of Jan 6 is a dumbass. You’re a true dumbass if you think someone telling you something is so much better than seeing it for yourself.
Orwellian shit is real.
The cup cup holder/nacho tray broke off. Probably when it fell off the truck because I got a basically new $2000 machine for $800.

while everyone is complaining about how liberal their states are getting, I’m reading this exchange from some of my pet liberals:
It’s been a busy week in the ol’ klepto-theocracy we used to call Iowa…
There’s a reason we left. We saw this crap coming.
lots of people told me to leave this state. I haven’t. I mean it’s nice if you can leave right. But this is my home. How about the jerkwads who policies are NOT popular get some pushback by some of us?
you can’t win when the people that should be pushing back are complacent and pretty much complicit in it.
IDP abandoned anyone that can’t donate a few thousand dollars per cycle. Look at their Governor candidates.
I pushed. Hard. My own party pushed back. Screw that.
but so just got my man cave finished, damnit!
*redder than Texas, in some ways
MJ, what is the Goldstein stuff?
———————-
Goldstein was the character that was used in 1984 in the two minutes of hate. Everyday the ‘party’ would stand for 2 mins and scream at images of Goldstein.
Later, when the protagonist is captured by the thought police and tortured he’s given the knowledge that there is no goldstein. It’s just a way to control the party faithful and to focus their emotions. There is no Goldstein but there will always be a Goldstein.
The left has one every few days. Trump is the all time Goldstein champ but there’s a steady rotation of Deathsantis, Tucker, Marjorie Taylor Green, Tulsi Gabbard, etc.
Is there a cheap way to ship to Canada? It’s like 50 dollars to send a small package.
Postal service is the cheapest way, and it spares the consignee the kind of thorough ass-ramming they get from Customs if it comes in via UPS or FedEx.
Not sure why the same shipment gets them railed by customs taxes with one carrier but not another, but I have heard enough Canadians bitch about it that it must be true.
But yes international shipping (even Canada) is extra-expensive.
A lot of Canadians who live near-ish to the US border have alternate US mailing addresses because of this. They nip over the border to pick up their mail and bring it home.

Lauraw, are you doing strict keto?
I haven’t had a drink (aside from one shot of whiskey when we lost our tomcat) since Feb 1.
I could really use a quadruple martini right now.
Saw a great meme today of Noriega, Hussain, Osama, and Khaddafi all smiling and superimposed with the articles about them being CIA assets. All of them smiling down on Zelensky and beckoning him up to Heaven.
It’s deep.
Not yet, but soon, Mare. Calm down.
At some point over the dreary Winter I decided being healthy and feeling good all the time was boring, so I started having frequent cocktails.
Not as bad as my daily afternoon beer habit in late ’21 and early ’22 when I was frankly fucking stewing in disbelief and depression about having to leave my career. But I can feel the habitual-ness creeping up on me and decided to nip it off again asap.
So in my first week or three of kicking booze, while I’m still fighting off impulses to go buy wine, I am allowing myself the odd carby treat. I’ll get serious next week or so. I still need to overwrite this one worst habit a few more times before I knuckle down on the next one.
Plus I need more sunny days and things to do outside. Still too cold up North here to not eat carbs.
I had a big salad when I got home from work today and felt chilled to the bones for a full hour. No bueno. Going back to hot cooked meals.
Got on a scale today and was pleased that I am only three pounds heavier than when I lost all that blubber last year. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
So in my first week or three of kicking booze, while I’m still fighting off impulses to go buy wine, I am allowing myself the odd carby treat.

This is a good strategy.
When I lived in Texas I didn’t get enough sun, which among other things messed up my sleep which, is essential for fat loss. It’s all so scientifical and sciency but I had the SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and didn’t know it until after I moved back to Florida. I felt like a new person.
It didn’t help that I was going through empty nest syndrome and drinking wine like I was getting paid for it.
Fried chicken is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. But if you eat too much fried chicken God punishes you for your gluttony.
*fist bump*
It’s about ten days to pea-planting time, and my chickens will be delivered in about a month. And the seasonal aspect of our business is starting to ramp back up, at the same time I’ve been adding new regular clients all Winter. Pretty soon I’ll be very busy and I’ll get off my own back and that will make the whole thing easier in a lot of ways.
Empty nest! That’s why I’m drinking. Makes sense. I need grandchildren . For my health! Think this strategy will work? /sips Truly
One of my good friends is 13 years younger than me and just hit a grandchild on Tuesday. 20 y/o unmarried , only dated the guy for a short time. So really I shouldn’t be jealous and yet I am.
This is why I drink.

I only drink because Mare won’t calm down and CARin has baby hitting friends.
iPhone autocucumber sucks. I can have one letter wrong or miss a space, and it has NO IDEA WHAT THE WORD COULD POSSIBLY BE so I have to go through, delete, and retype. But then with others they quickly decide what they think I meant and turn my comment or text into garbage.
