Good morning, and welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day.
This movie was on the other night.
Of course, it was preceded by “Every Which Way But Loose”.
As far as I know, that was it, no trilogy.
His opponent.
Fake redhead for Carin.
Another one from the HHD fodder folder.
And finally.
Thanks to Pirate’s Cove for the linky love every week, prayers for TiFW, TeeRoy, and those fighting the coof, and y’all have a good day.

slow start
It’s Wednesday, don’t ask too much of it.

What do you think the meltdown would be like if Trump ran and won in 2024?
No wait. Against Hillary.
So, just saw yet another post talking about nurses – in full spacesuit gear to save them from the Covid.
And a thought just came to me immediately. Here you have nurses pimping for the covid because a LOT OF THEM are getting higher pay due to it. Like – lots higher. $90 an hour.
OH MY GOD, Yes, this covid is terrible.
In the thread, they’re advocating over $150 an hour.
They’ve weaponized this.
Well duh.
Fight for $150!
I can’t decide what I want to do to the walls under the chair rail in the dining room. I started pulling the wallpaper but quit because the paint surfaces under the wallpaper is effed up. It looks like they painted latex over oil before wallpapering, and everywhere you start pulling the paper, the latex is bubbling and pulling away in patches. I hate painting over wallpaper but I can’t take this off without starting a whole new problem that’s worse.
Here are my options:
1. New wallpaper over old (really don’t want this unless I find something white and with a subtle pattern, and pretty)
2. Beadboard or other millwork panels painted white
3. Fix the wall where I pulled the paper, and paint over the old wallpaper (leaves seams, me no likey)
4. Is there a product that resurfaces over a crappy wall so that it then can be painted without seam lines showing? I mean besides using wall compound.
Seems like you could tear down to the drywall and then mud it for paint, but I’m no expert.
I can do wall compound but Scott is super allergic to drywall dust. Sanding is straight out.
Plaster and lathes. No drywall.
Paneling might be your best bet, then.
Seems like. Guess I’m going to compare the cost with whatever wallpaper I can find that comes in white. Or in very light colors.
Paneling is like charity, it covers a multitude of sins. Maybe it’s the backup plan.
What do you guys think of the trendy thing to do with old brass chandeliers, which is to paint them? Like this: https://is.gd/35pPOV
Ours is very similar to the one in the article. I don’t think I’d be adding crystals or beads, just painting it white or slate blue or something to make it cute.
Haven’t decided on it. I feel like it’s wrong, lol. But not sure bright brass is going to work with the room when it’s done.
This may have already been discussed, but as far as I’m circumcised, this Gu cunt can fucking stay in China.
In an apartment. In Wuhan. Eating bats for her dinner.
2. Beadboard or other millwork panels painted white
Maybe I’ll just box it up and put something else there. So many gorgeous light fixtures at the stores, why not get new? I don’t know. Just trying to save a couple shekels.
Hotspur has spoken. I think you’re right. I’m unlikely to find the right wallpaper. I like the square panels better than beadboard but it’s more work making them look good in a room with window cutouts and old metal radiators.
Haven’t checked the prices yet though. That might be the decider. They weren’t too bad back when I worked at the big box store but I hear times have changed.
Beaded fir is expensive, but check your lumber yard and see if they have beaded pine. It’s a little softer, but still works well. If it were me I’d use beaded fir.
Each board is about three inches wide, and has a bead in the center so that when nailed up it looks like two boards.
It’s easier to manage because you aren’t having to cut 4′ sheets of paneling, and there is no way to blind nail paneling.
Pick a nice cap mold and base mold, and you’re done. Mitering the inside corners of the cap mold looks best instead of coping it. (Pretty sure you own a miter box.)
If you don’t have a finish nailer to blind nail the boards, you can probably rent one, or borrow one from a carpenter friend.
Or come get mine.
Candace Owens is pregnant again.
Not my fault.
Thanks, man. It’s a bit of a drive…I can borrow tools from my Dad.
Clint Eastwood was asked how he maintains his active lifestyle (he’s about to start a new movie).
He said (paraphrasing), “When I get up every day I don’t let the old man in.”
Words of wisdom.
I love the narrative change that’s happened. LOVE. Hasn’t gone far enough, of course. But we shall see.
Turns out, ultimately, We The People have ’emergency powers’ too. Surprised how very patient and temperate “we” have been. But finally, the time came. They went too far.
I’ve used the beaded pine that hotspot mentioned.
It finishes nicely.
Looks much nicer than sheet material imo.
Re the nurse thing:
Sellers market.
I’m seriously on a “fuck big hospital “ kick.
They are lock step with socialist / Pharma / insurance company shitwads.
Make ‘em feel the pain.
My wife said there is a nationwide nurse one day walkout being proposed.
She said there’s rumblings of capping nurses pay….
That’s just one more in a long line of stupid ideas.
We should be talking about capping insurance workers pay.
From the secretaries to the c-levels.
“I love the narrative change that’s happened. LOVE. Hasn’t gone far enough, of course. But we shall see.”
Me too, but people have very, very short memories. Imagine all the restrictions go away, the Democrats say “you’re welcome, America!” and everyone forgets who the villains were the whole time. Predicted Dem wipeout fizzles and they take it as a mandate to turn the screws again.
They are close to a zero value added prop in my estimate.
The Old Man made my coffee this morning and rubbed my ankle still sore from twisting it a month ago. The Old Man is really too old for this shit and wants to retire and just putter in the garden and raise rabbits and so on.
He makes a good case.
Cap the numbers of administrators in hospitals. Or really in any enterprise.

If you understand that every policy the leftists running this administration push is about creating chaos everything starts making sense.
Thanks for the prayers, everyone. Arrived at Dad’s house last night; he is doing better after we got some food into him. He is currently on antibiotics for a UTI, and that seems to be helping as well. We’ll take any good news that comes our way!
He is still terminal, so we know that this is a brief respite. It was so nice to be able to hug him after so many months of not being able to see him in person.
We will be going with him to his doctors appointments and getting all of the estate business taken care of while we still can. Right now, it is just enough to be here with him and to lighten his load however we can.
Again, thanks to all of you from our family!
Except that, per Ace, Brandon just announced he’s not going to change any of his policies, so hopefully he won’t get the memo and people will still remember his idiocy by November.

I’m getting happy, but I still think the left is going to lash out and do something particularly awful in their loser spite.
Interesting that Newsom, of all people, is rolling back the restrictions. He just very handily survived a recall effort so he can’t possibly be feeling political pressure.
I just bought this book as touted on insta. I’m sorta excited: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KNGDYGL?psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp
As to whether or when the administration’s position would change, Psaki responded: “You’ll have to ask the CDC. The CDC moves at the pace of data and science.”
Did she say that with a straight face?
pitchforks outside the house make a different sound than a possible recall effort does
plus now they have cover after that bitch Wen reversed the science at the CDC
I got that book Carin, it’s good info.
Oooo. Any info in there about plantar fasciitis or frozen shoulder?
Nice. I was worried that the entire country was too far gone. the Trucker thing and now things like this. THere maybe is hope for them yet.
These guys have all the musculoskeletal aches and pains covered
Canada in Ottawa is what life is like in rural US. Extremely self sufficient.
I was sort of shocked at how many of them had jerry cans.
It’s not like they have to gas up lawn mowers much.
Oh the joys of Powerpoint that refuses to use consistent formatting conventions for the exact same type of content.
Snow mobiles.
I wonder how long Heather McDonald (the comedienne who collapsed above) had to lay there before someone realized it wasn’t a joke.
The book is aimed at strengthening and working on mobility for knees and hips. Not necessarily PT stuff.
I also had a heelspur and PF. I healed myself. I wore EXCELLENT shoes 24/7 until it “went away”. I got a heel spur from it, but that only bugs me when I wear shitty shoes and my foot muscles get weaker. As long as my feet are in good shape I don’t even feel it.
evidently she cracked her skull when she collapsed
oh, you want pain in developing, mitchell? Try Powerapps. oooooffff
Barefoot is great. Danskos are awesome. Crocs are terrible. Bad shoes are bad too.
yes car in, good shoes are the key. Mine flares up once in a while, have to keep it immobilized while it heals. Takes a bit, not a quick healer in the heel. But shoes help.
McDonald said she was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital over the weekend as they ran tests to figure out what happened when she fell about three minutes into her act at Tempe Improv. Ultimately, McDonald said they don’t really know why she collapsed.
“I was starting to feel like, dizzy, weird, and I was like, ‘Wow, this better pass soon. I don’t know how I’m gonna power through this hour and 10 minutes of material.’ And that’s kind of the last thing I remember,” McDonald said.
McDonald was performing the first of two scheduled shows Saturday when she said she was talking about how she was vaccinated against COVID-19 and boosted, as well as has her flu shot – setting up for more material about things people have experienced with COVID.
“I’m impressed that like, my whole card is filled up and like, you know, and I got the shingles shot. And I said, ‘And I’ve never had COVID. So clearly, Jesus loves me the most.’ And then I went, Oh, and then I fell over,” McDonald said.
McDonald’s management said she suffered a skull fracture as a result of the fall Saturday, saying she had not had alcohol and does not have COVID.
“I didn’t do it for publicity, I would not give up two practically sold-out shows with meet and greets, and send people home for publicity,” McDonald said. “I would not hit my head like that. And I definitely wasn’t drunk.”
I’m pretty sure God didn’t like that little comment. He wants nothing to do with the Covid lie bs.
Ultimately, McDonald said they don’t really know why she collapsed.
Ever hear of the Holy Ghost?

Eat me, bitch.

Like Power BI?? Yes, I’ve had the…”pleasure”. Our manager is super-keen on his department being on the “leading edge” of using it. We have some reports / graphs on the departmental PBI portal thingy. They’ve been rong for months. Nobody’s noticed.
Whoopie G’s comments are unheard of . From the above article: “Diaz-Rivera recalled Black Hammer activists arguing Anne Frank didn’t deserve sympathy because she would have become a European colonizer — an oppressor — had she survived the Holocaust. That argument later caused a firestorm on Twitter and became a signature Black Hammer talking point. Before they arrived in Beaver Pines, the activists tweeted they would stay warm in their mountain colony by burning copies of Anne Frank’s diary.”
Are not … bla bla bla. I wonder how deep you need to go to find all sorts of similar talk i CRT bs.
HotBride packs me a lunch everyday. Today there are four figs in addition to a sandwich.
I tected her, “I hope these figs are good for me, because I don’t like them very much.”
She replied, “Don’t eat them then. LOL They will make you 💩”
People think angels are nice
That’s why they are always telling people not to be afraid when they see them. Niceness.
And these are the reports from people who live to tell about it.
Blessed Michael the Archangel (my patron saint) was definitely not what you would describe as “nice”.
Car in, that article was something else. Who could have predicted that the utopia everyone said would fail would fail?
Hey Lucifer, get yo bitchass outta here.
I remember reading about Black Hammer’s commune dreams way back when BLM was having its heyday. The pictures in the article jogged my memory. Looks like BLM and its affiliates were all a scam … who woulda thunk it?
I was as shocked as you were, Sobek.
I remember reading how some wokists were calling for cancelling the St. Michael and the devil because of the resemblance to Saint George Floyd’s transformative event
https://dailycaller.com/2020/06/22/britain-order-st-michael-st-george-satan-george-floyd-christian/
I enjoyed reports of the “bridge” they built. I mean, it was a few pieces of wood over a creek.
But i’m sure they would have done great as high altitude farmers. It probably would have taken them 3 months to resort to cannibalism.
Speaking of sky pies: https://spectrum.ieee.org/top-tech-2022
Hey George, get yo bitchass outta here.
“It probably would have taken them 3 months to resort to cannibalism.”
Left to their own devices, yes. But with money flowing in from outside, they could just leave the place wherever they wanted, get a steak dinner at the closest Applebee’s, and then drive back out to their campground. That’s the funny thing about a non closed economic system.
It’s like a scene I saw on an episode of Longmire, where the sheriff goes to interview some hippy who lives in a tent in the wilderness. The hippy, who is very smug (obviously) tells the sheriff how self-sufficient he is because he runs on a treadmill that powers his fuel cell and that gets him enough power for the day. The whole time I was watching I was thinking “where’d you get that treadmill? Where’d you get the fuel cell? What will you do when those inevitably break down?”. If it’s not a closed system, your claims mean nothing.
So, in the US the government will forbid me from using Ivermectin, but give me a free crack pipe.
Have I got that straight?
LOL
Hey Neil, eat a bag of dicks you homophobe cum guzzler.
an episode of Longmire
Heh, Walt laughed
“Nice angels”…yeah…let’s see what the Old Testament has to say.
Yeah.
Yes, you knuckle-dragging Person of Caveness. You may not use the dangerous horse-dewormer.
Now take your perfectly safe and Hunter-approved crack pipe and run along.
Sometimes, when he tells the story of his brush with Black Hammer, people ask him why he didn’t shoot them. He’s been offered shotgun shells.
I love a happy ending
Don’t forget free crack pipe, mitchell
Today is Dad’s birthday! 83! My brother is about to serve him some squirrel stew with biscuits and gravy.
How is Talcum X still a BLM spokesidiot?
oh my, squirrel?
Twitter, Jesse Kelly: THREAD: If you had something awful happen to you as a result of COVID restrictions, reply below. Gonna read these on my radio show tonight.
Yeah, Dad used to hunt them when he was a kid and Grandma would cook them. Pretty regular fare for him growing up. He hasn’t had it in…over thirty years anyway and he wanted some. A son-in-law who lives nearby went out and bagged some for them.
My God:
My mom has Alzheimer’s, and is in Memory Care. We were locked out for months. She knew who I was before the lockdown, and had no idea after. I lost my mom’s last cognitive months. She thought she had been abandoned. I’ll never forget or forgive.
that’s awesome, mitchell. Did he like that?
I was in the hospital lobby dropping off things my brother wanted as he lay in the hospital bed. He passed away 15 minutes after I left. I could have been with him, but I was only allowed upstairs WHEN HE WAS DEAD.
SCIENCE!!
My husband went in the hospital on 7/7/20 not for Covid. I saw him for one hour and he died on 8/12/20. I begged to see him. He died of a broken heart. He said he never had been treated so bad. I carry a lot of anger.
WTF happened to our hospitals?
I know people, and some are here, that would give their lives to care for people in need. Our hospitals outlawed that, and continue it to this day. Just who are the heroes, again?
They were just about to sit down to eat when I called to wish him a happy birthday, so I didn’t get a review Jay. I’m sure he will though.
Pretty chilling stuff Jay. Nothing about any of this has ever made any sense. Well, from a normal person’s point of view. For the soulless psychopaths who rule the world everything has made sense: power & money.
Grandpa fell in the shower, ended up in a sr living home. Never got to leave or have visitors thanks to covid. Spent his final 6 months alone, missed the holidays and his only grandkid’s wedding before passing on Christmas morning. We could’ve visited/taken him places pre-covid
I applaud you and yours for taking care of your dad. My brother takes care of mom, and I do too. not much. But how can this stand? It’s no wonder we are so divided.
Thanks Jay.
One of Dad’s Visiting Angels took a nursing job for a hospice company here in town. She became a good friend while helping me care for Dad and visits when she has time. She’s horrified by the way some people take care of their elderly. She’s about six months into the job and is seriously thinking about quitting.
taking care of an elderly parents is hard work, but it beats the alternative.
The important part about hearing those stories, Jay, is that the left brings forward every sob story they can dig up whenever there is an issue – single mothers, homeless people, handicapped people, retarded kids, people who can’t drive, etc., etc.
These real life covid stories need to be rammed down the throats of every liberal cocksucker in sight.
Twitter: viva frei has been doing interviews, here’s one

EXACTLY Hotspur. Not to sound cold, but when somoone trots out their unhealthy 83 year old grandma’s death to explain why I should do what they say,I want to scream.
Not to mention my sister is one of those people who died because of all this bullshit.

Did you get his name and number by chance? Could really use a bad ass ringer for my hockey team.
I remember in my younger years how much I looked forward to the Olympics. I enjoyed the winter games more than summer, but I looked forward to both, and pretty much watched all of the coverage. In those days it was ABC, and they did an outstanding job of mixing sports with human stories.
Now I’m not even curious. I haven’t watched one moment. Probably won’t ever again.

heh, classic, jimbro! HONK!
I was never a die hard Olympics guy but definitely would tune in if the hockey team was in a medal match or watch ski racing or giant slalom. Summer Olympics if there was a hot track star burning it up I’d watch and I do enjoy watching rhythmic gymnastics for some reason (not entirely for the muscular yet strangely flexible women wearing skimpy attire).
Not one ounce of desire to watch any of it now.
I miss my curling. That was fun
It’s the same thing with pro sports. I used to enjoy MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL.
Now, aside from NHL, I wouldn’t piss on the best part of any of it.
College sports aren’t far behind either, I’m afraid.
What were these organizations thinking when they let politics in?

They’ve ruined video games and comics, though. Utterly.

Just saw that some golfer was cancelled because he expressed his opinion of the WNBA. The clip included a bit about Whoopie Goldberg getting a slap on the wrist over her holocaust denial, it included video of Whoopie.

Trey Goudy on the tube bitching congress could craft a bill today & have a vote by the end of the week prohibiting stock transactions by members of Congress.
LOL.
1) insider trading laws already exist. DOJ just looks the other way when it’s a congress parasite with a (D) after its name.
2) Trey could have pursued this while he actually had a stake in that game. Fuck off Trey. You’re a day late and a dollar short.
Whoopie in her early winter years could also play the part of General Burkholder in a woke remake of Hogans Hero’s, that pointy head tapering cylinderically to her hips where it becomes a normal cylinder grasps the physique of the original character.

Big bucks in art.
post your bacon recipe, Jay.
or link it to the recipe blog, I made something similar to guanciale
I went to a really lovely lady’s house nearby to collect some old clay bricks that she said online she’d let go. Showed up, and these are not old clay bricks. These are OLDE CLAYE BRICKES, from circa the founding of our republic. From a plot that used to be the home of a revolutionary war hero. These bricks, not all, but many, having been a portion of the chimney and hearth of his former home that was on the site.
Many of these bricks are clearly hand made, warped, with the swipe marks, and old, old, old. They are the real deal. I told this lady I will do right by the history and put a historical plaque on my work to show the origin.
Before going there, when I thought these were just random old bricks, I didn’t care. But now I am committed to do a really nice project with them.
Many of them were sitting outdoors frozen together by ice so I couldn’t get more than 58 this trip. I’ll be back. One broke when I set it down a little too hard in my backyard while unloading. I could have cried. Shouldn’t, she has hundreds back there and many of them are broken and crumbled. I’m kind of shocked how casual people are here with revolutionary war related relics here, but I guess they are just everywhere.
Speaking of sky pies
Nice pic, thanks, Mitchell! I saw a nice time-lapse of the assembly.
Jay Dude that is clearly your adaptation and not my recipe anymore. If it’s that much better than my original I will give it a go next time I buy a belly! Thanks! Please rename your recipe to yourself.
Oh, my beer got first at the brew club meeting, first time! out of 5 recipes.
I’m just, *gasp* “this is the handmark of an American forebear, over 200 years ago, from the hearth of a revolutionary” and she’s like, “It’s touching that this matters to you, please remove this from my property at your earliest.”
Congratulations, Jay! I remember you make some crispy good tasty beer.
Just got back from our ‘8 ball ceremony’. Good time.
On a recommend from an old Ace thread I started watching ‘Head’ a movie from 1968 w/the Monkees (I think it popped after Mike Nesmith passed last month).
I’m a big Monkees fan, loved the show when I was a kid and still think the music holds up well.
That being said, I don’t know if I can drink enough to get in the right frame of mind for this. Wow. I need some mushrooms maybe?
The ending song, ‘Circle Sky’ was written by Nesmith and they played it live for the movie. Kinda cool, but disturbing at the end. Drugs help.
