  4. Congrats Roamy, I hope you get the thing.

And can eventually tell us what the thing is, at least on H3.

  5. Wakey wakey

  6. Glad you’re finally up at a reasonable hour.

  7. I was thinking the gun vid was a channel I liked, but now I can’t find it. Tactical Administration, or something like that. I’ve linked it before, but can’t remember now.

  8. administrative results! That’s it! Thanks for all your help.

  11. If it’s real, it’s this. I still haven’t seen anything other than my boss’s word on it. I don’t have a Ph.D., I’m not the lead on any big project, I just play in the lab, so pardon my skepticism.

Dave, How old are your trees?</i>

I’ve owned that property going on 40 years, those trees were at least 40 years old when I bought it.

  15. “Esther, if I had me some dough, I’d push yo’ face in it and make me some gorilla cookies.”

  16. you are correct Jay…..question becomes what are people going to do about it? Right the fuck in your face, pissing on your leg….whaadayagonnado?

  17. That Lara Logan tweet is pretty scary but it makes a lot more sense to me than an outage and that the harbor pilots just randomly fucked up.

  18. I am up every day at a reasonable hour. 6 am often. I like to try to sleep until 7 but it doesn’t always happen.

  19. Its my book reading habit that’s getting in the way.

  20. Wondering what to write about for Sunday. Requests? Anybody? I work better with an imposed structure or directive, otherwise tend to ramble on.

  21. Lumps, how about high yield low effort crops.

I’m still working on my garden beds. I’m going to do two 2’x4′ short raised beds in one corner of my yard. I had to remove some old low evergreen bushes and will need to modify the sprinklers. Made the bed boarders out of cedar fence boards and reinforced the corners with some red wood. All the material is stuff I had laying around. Hope to finish it up this weekend.

  22. Started watching 3 Body Problem last night based on Carin’s recommendation.

Interesting story line. Hoping it doesn’t turn in to a woke jizzfest, but since Carin liked it, I’m pretty sure it won’t.

  23. Just ramble on. We’re perfectly okay with that.

  24. Or you could tell us about your first kiss, or first arrest, or goriest patient, or best book you’ve ever read, or favorite singer, or favorite vacation….

My God, the choices are endless. We’ll read anything.

  25. Hotspur – did you watch “Dark”? That is literally the best thing I’ve ever watched. I’m enjoying 3 Body Problems so far, but I make no promises since I’m clueless where its going.

  26. dark?

  27. Did I tell you guys about my book group? We’re not a club- we’re just all friends swapping books and then getting together to drink wine and talk about the books we’re reading. We took out the pretentious part where someone assigns a book and then we “discuss” it. GOD i hate that. Reminds me of college Modern ENglish courses. How did this make you FEEL?

I’d rather talk about the making of the hamburger. How its written. What the author did right or wrong, etc. Not some sort of slobbery talk fest were everyone relates the books to their feelings.

I’m on book 21 for the year – which is where I’ve been when not here. I was getting irritated by my TBR pile so I ordered this cute little shelf:

  28. Well, that’s stupid. LEt’s try this:

  29. We got a new bookstore nearby which is exciting, so I’ve been trying to buy books there – although I really use my kindle for most books.

Yesterday I picked up “The Women” by Kristin Hannah which folks are raving about and a new hardcover copy of “Dune” (which is very pretty – the page edges are blue) since someone walked off with my copy.

  30. I recommend the subtitles not dubbed. The acting, everything is so good you don’t want to ruin it with other voices that don’t match, etc.

  31. I would link reviews, but many contain spoilers. Its only three seasons. And the entire thing was planned out from start to finish.

  32. Lumps, how about high yield low effort crops.

Squash has to be top of the list, whether summer or winter. If you can look after it and water until it leafs out, you’re done, just wait and collect your fruit.

  33. Dark was about the only German-language show I could find on Netflix back when I had it. It started good but I never got around to episode 2 and beyond before we killed NF.

  34. I didn’t watch Dark.

As to book clubs, I hope yours isn’t like most women’s clubs where they drink wine and bitch about their husbands instead of discussing a book.

  35. hmm, reminds me of IT. The good first part, not the lame 2nd part.

  36. to get you ready for the Iowa State game tonight

  37. Who the cyclones got tonight?

  38. Illinois, Big 10 Champions

I live not far from here. I can tell you, this a big deal on Long Island. I’ve spoken to lifelong Long Island Dems today who are LIVID that Biden is skipping this for a fundraiser & hasn’t really had much if any contact with the family. Tell me again how Trump is a bad guy.

  41. Superstition meets conspiracy theory.

“Haint Blue”: This originated from the Gullah culture in South Carolina and Georgia but has influence in Appalachia. Painting the porch roof a pale blue-green is believed to ward off evil spirits. Haints will assume the ceiling is the sky or water and get confused on how to enter the house.

Haint Blue may also keep the space lasers from burning down your house.

  42. Haints Appear as Animal Shapes: “Haints” are restless spirits that haunt the living, and they are believed to manifest as various animal shapes. Seeing a mysterious animal at night can send shivers down one’s spine as it may be a harbinger of the supernatural.

  43. Let’s face facts: if Kyle Rittenhouse had murdered two white people, he’d be in jail right now.

  44. Jay, cool story about the elementary school boys who had to suffer at the hands of Caitlin Clark ^^^

  45. If he’d murdered them, sure. Thankfully he killed two white people and wounded a third in self defense.

  46. I’ve heard of haints before, not sure where. And the blue paint thing too. We don’t have haints around these parts, leaving us vulnerable to space lasers.

  47. other rival team. she’s got a great story

  48. *image searches Caitlyn Clark*

Would. Not that I’d go to any special effort, but if she’d winked at me and we were the same age, I’d have been up for it.

  49. she’s 6′ tall leon

  50. And?

  51. You can go nose to nose and get your toes wet or go toes to toes and get your nose wet.

  52. Literally every woman has been taller than me. 6′ would be a new record, but not by much.

  53. As to book clubs, I hope yours isn’t like most women’s clubs where they drink wine and bitch about their husbands instead of discussing a book.

Well … we did have some wine and food … but we did crafts instead of bitching about our husbands. And we did this thing were we made fake covers for books we were going to share.

I’m proposing the next meeting of our book club goes first to John King (an amazing used book store in Detroit) then to this cool new bookstore in Grosse Pointe that has food and drinks (it looks super cool) and then finish the day with some mussels at Cadiuex cafe.

Or, I guess we could just meet at my house and bitch about our husbands. My idea sounds better.

  54. Every man I’ve dated has been taller than me.

Height was never something I given any thought to when I was dating. Everyone is taller than me.

  55. https://tinyurl.com/4zjbr3yx

  56. Since I’m 6’2” every woman I ever dated (all five of them) was shorter than me. Most 6’2” females at age 17 or 18 are A cups which works against them. Especially if you’re shortsighted like I was.

  57. I was 14 years old and 5′ 4″ when I started dating my first boyfriend. He was 5′ 6″ or 5′ 7″, so I ended up passing him in height by the time we broke up 3 years later. There are pics of me slouching, somehow trying to stay shorter.

  58. I’m 5’4″ but my hunchback is 6′ 1″, didn’t really need a guy who was taller than the Hump but he does need to be able to reach everywhere with a scraper.

Well, until Scott set up one of these babies in the garage:

    https://is.gd/GtMJ9i

  59. I was basically off the market all through college because I stuck with my (5’9″) high school girlfriend throughout. If I was ever going to find a gal shorter than me, that was my chance. The 3 girlfriends between wives ranged from 5’7″ to 5’10”. Wife and I were nearly the same height at the wedding, but I’m shrinking now.

  60. It’s butt kickin’ time.

  61. At 5′ 11″ in my dating years there were no women taller than me on my dance card. There were a few tallish ones but most of them were shawties.

My HS girlfriend listed one of her aspirations in our yearbook as “To be taller than 5 feet”. She was the cheerleader they tossed in the air.

  62. It could be UConn vs Iowa State on Saturday.

  63. I hope it is.

  64. Not big national news, but the Mayor of Ft. Wayne, In just died of cancer.

He was a Dem, but one of the rare good ones that could work with anyone, other than that incident involving a couple extra glasses of wine he clearly didn’t need at an event a couple years ago

  65. To remove any vagueness, the Mayor did allow himself to be handled by the system like any other schmuck, Did his 4 days, went without a DL for 3 months, community service, etc.

He was a Dem, but essentially fallible just like us us. I guess that’s why he was elected again a few months after the wine incident.

A good guy, for being a Dem.

  66. Looks like UConn by 20

    *yawn*

  67. 30

  68. I don’t follow the minor league professional basketball programs that are loosely associated with what we used to refer to as “institutions of higher learning”, but it appears that the team currently associated with the indoctrination center in Connecticut very well may win the trophy this year.

  69. Describe Evan’s rosacea, please.
