Welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day. Happy birthday to Dave in Texas.
In honor of the birthday boy:
though I think it was Andy that started the Pat Green argument.
Now for the hunks.
Michael Buble
Fake redhead for Carin.
Got a co-worker who looks like this, but no tats.
Nice.
This is from an Australian show. I should re-watch those.
Last, but not least.
Thanks to Pirate’s Cove for the linky love every week, and y’all have a good day.

I can tell you that in fact, Texas does have a lot of good looking men.
Happy birthday, Dave!
Man, Michael Buble was a baby in that picture! Love his music.
And I will take good care of that cowboy in the last picture….
I don’t get it, we know that only 6% of the deaths accounted to COVID are COVID alone and 94% of the other deaths attributed have an average of 2.6 comorbidities. AND the median age for the only COVID is 80 years old (older than life expectancy), hasn’t this sham been outed?
And you know this is absolutely true because Twitter will not allow those facts anymore. Got to keep the narrative going for another few months.
Got to keep the narrative going for another few months.

That’s my take on it too Mare. I’m sure a lot of other people think along those lines too. Every now and then I sit back and ponder the thinking that’s behind my employer’s Covid guidelines. As a hospital I suppose we have a lot of at risk patients there (elderly, co-morbidities, immunocompromised) and that requires the lockdown. The thing that galls me is the lack of any open discussion about ending this BS, whether it’s for our hospital or the public at large. We’re all left pining for the nebulous date of “someday when things are back to normal”. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of discussion among peers about the BS but no one wants to be labelled a disruptive physician. That label is the kiss of death nowadays and will land you in counseling sessions or get you canned. So everyone smiles behind the mask and continues to chew the shit sandwich.
Only ever see DiT on twitface these days. Common topics of discussion include smoked meat, brisket (BIRM), dogs and an inviting looking pool
Roamy, I cannot like posts anymore. Do not know why. But let’s go ahead and use reason…user error.
GND and I were gaming out some of the consequences of the fraudemic and I think a few are going to be long lasting.
1. Kids will treated as though they are the most endangered and will require additional protective measures
2. Masks and distancing will become much more prevalent, especially in winter
3. Handshakes will decrease. No one knows what the other wants so it will just be given up to reduce awkwardness; the super woke will start to bow to each other
4. Sharing anything will decrease – single service society will replace it (rather than fresh cream at coffee places, back to shitty, old, single service cream cups that are always past their due date)
5. Services reserved for wealthy will creep into upper middle class further dividing people (think private flights, more ‘fast pass lanes’)
6. Saying thinks like ‘kiss my ass’ or ‘eat a bag of dicks’ will be considered a biohazard hate crime (sarc)
7. You’ll never get your freedoms back – the next generation won’t care
8. Every political issue favored by the left will be presented as a moral case to reduce the spread of disease
9. Funerals or weddings will continue to be restricted
10. None of the new rules will apply to favored groups
Can’t remember if I told you my sister (teacher) had to go through marxist training yesterday.
It was presented as anti-bias training but was actually critical race theory marxism.
Poor girl.
Critical race theory is actual garbage.
The people who talk about it and teach it have no idea what they’re talking about.
It’s actually pretty funny.
With proper preparation a Bag Of Dicks could easily be served up hygienically. If the market exists it will be readily available. Sous vide Bag Of Dicks finished over a bed of hot coals.
Good point.
Most people are used to raw dicks in the bag, but if we can switch public taste to a mild, safe version of the dick, we should see strong market growth.
Short dicks, people. They’ll be huge in 2021.
Sport Dicks

Critical [blank] theory is bullshit.
Every medical person in Michigan has to go through bias training. Every one.
Yep, with no voting, no evidence. Just Wretched creating work and debt-backed paychecks for marxist assholes.
Oh, and the added benefit of Maoist struggle sessions to drive any integrity – or anyone with integrity – out of medicine.
So, we get a party for our extended duty segment, where we basically worked every day for 3 weeks, and got everything done on an extremely compressed timeline.
So what does that mean for the next project? That means we can do the same thing over, expect everything at an increased pace, because look what that team can do when you really put the screws to them.
So fucking mad right now.
42 degrees here this morning.
This bitch is everything wrong with the GOP establishment. She criticizes Trump supporters and the President for focusing on protecting symbols such as statues, rather than “real issues”.
Symbols are important. Symbols serve as a means of unifying us into one “tribe” of Americans, and connecting our present with our past. They help create the American myth which serves as the foundation for a national identity. This, of course, is exactly why the left wants to attack them: destroying monuments, statues, historic landmarks, etc., is about eliminating any connection with the past, about wiping out anything which might serve to counter whatever the preferred narrative is at the moment.
Saying, “they’re focused on symbols instead of real issues” is the kind of technocrat, pseudo-rationalist, WASP bullcrap that has infected the establishment right for the past thirty years, rendered it incompetent and ineffective.
DON’T JUMP, THIMBLE!
I saw Pat Green at Austin City Limits a couple of years ago. No one opened for him.
It’s important to notice that bitch was an “adviser” to George Bush.
Tells you everything you need to know.
Oh, look, right across the street, George Bush is on fire. Literally on fire.
*files nails*
But I mean that in a nice way.
PD, weren’t you supposed to be in Prague pretty soon?
So what does that mean for the next project? That means we can do the same thing over, expect everything at an increased pace, because look what that team can do when you really put the screws to them.
Game development houses do this. 100 hour weeks — on salary — to burn people as hot as they can to go Gold. Programmers are like tires at a NASCAR track to them, and the pool of people who want to make them is big enough to enable the practice. Taylorism for the mental-work crowd.
Never work in an office with foosball and snacks.

Good news everyone!!
The rogue demolition team that’s “beautifying” our house forgot to take the laundry detergent they had bagged for themselves. Laundry detergent is now locked in my room. Thanks for showing your hand, boys

If symbols didn’t matter, they wouldn’t get attacked or erased. If attacking your symbol matters to the other side, defend it or you give them victory. Winners always come back for another fight.
^^^ This, I was just coming on to say this
if thimbles had no meaning, then what’s the big deal?
Never work in an office with foosball and snacks.
“We provide a work-hard/play-hard environment with plenty of perks including an employee lounge with foosball and ping-pong, catered lunch, an onsite dry cleaners, and a gym!”
Translation: “You’ll never see the light of day or the apartment you pay too much to lease.”
Wait, the turds working on your home decided to take a few pods from your stash so they could take them home?

But then they wouldn’t have the political capital for important fights, such as a 1/2 of 1% decrease in the corporate tax rates, a 10% increase in “skilled worker” immigration, and multilateral trade deals which encourage offshoring of more American industries.
George Bush was a shit president and his advisers were shittier.
Oh, and would someone ask that bitch what issue Bush delt with that mattered to conservatives?
Lower tax rates for average people?
The wall?
Defunding planned parenthood?
Deregulation to start the economy and encourage job growth?
Human trafficking?
Prison reform?
Bush was a competent bureaucrat who I think genuinely wanted to try and fix problems, but he was too damn loyal to the swamp folks because he grew up around them thanks to his dad.
If I can’t trust them for the small stuff, I sure as hell can’t trust them for the big stuff.
but he was too damn loyal to the swamp folks because he grew up around them thanks to his dad.

Agree, so he was a spineless worm.
He grew up in that environment as normal. He was no more American than Barack Obama, just in a different way.
Not spineless, just horribly naive and trusting.
He staffed his administration with the GOP folks who’d been in DC for decades, and stuck with them long after he should have fired them, because he knew most of them and trusted them.
Is the Kennedy who lost last night the same one that gave the Dem response to a Trump State of the Union? The one who was drooling?
Mare @ 9:24
We were supposed to be in Prague and Krakow for my 60th birthday in May. All got cancelled. I have vouchers from Lufthanza and the two hotels in each city that have to be used within a year or go poof. We’re gonna try to go back in March for wife’s 60th.
He grew up in that environment as normal. He was no more American than Barack Obama, just in a different way.
Oh, I disagree. Bush was many things, but he is far better than Obama. I never doubted that he loved the US or her people.
I’d say Trump and Obama have more in common as they were both basically political outsiders who rose too quickly to accumulate the kind of political debt and networks that normally accrue over the course of a political career. Obama was an academic, a progressive true-believer but one who didn’t care about the political fortunes of his party. This was in contrast to the Clintonite wing of the party, built by Bill and who, while left wing, were also generally concerned with winning elections, and thus a bit more flexible in their policies.
But then they wouldn’t have the political capital for important fights, such as a 1/2 of 1% decrease in the corporate tax rates, a 10% increase in “skilled worker” immigration, and multilateral trade deals which encourage offshoring of more American industries.
Win the skirmishes and there are fewer battles. If the enemy wants to paint one rock on the edge of your perimeter his favorite shade of puse, you set up a cannon to paint him and everything within 100′ of him turquoise, and you let your guys laugh when it goes off.
Every win for your side is momentum, every loss for their side is demoralizing. Winners and people playing to win get this, losers think that dipshit, and that’s why they lose.
Mare @ 9:38.
You’ll probably control your notoriously touchy gag reflex and vote for Pence/Haley for the same reason I will. Because to not do so would be providing a tiny slice of help to Harris/Cuomo.

Yes. It also is important to remember that human beings aren’t completely rational. People want to be part of the winning side, and you’re more likely to win over the undecideds by appearing strong and successful than with any carefully crafted essays in National Review, or successful “owning” on Twitter.
PD, after Trump leaves office I doubt if I’ll give a shit anymore.
I perused the comments from yesterday. I’m just going to tell you straight up, you don’t want to believe that there is a war for the nation underway and that its not going to intensify? You better fucking believe it. Your life is going to depend on it. We are being attacked on multiple fronts everyday. And they ARE NOT GOING TO STOP. Why should they?
Prep now for the winter. If you don’t have the means to defend yourself and a fucking defense plan, you are waaay behind and best get squared away most ricky tick.
What do you think Barry was talking about with organizing for America? Who did you think they were organizing?
They are going to contest this election and gin up a crisis. I figure come spring things will be hot. Neither side is going to accept the results. One side will attempt to set up a shadow government. Once that separation occurs it’ll be go time.
Trying to get my freezers filled before November, but it’s going to be a rush at the end. Packers are overwhelmed right now, even the small ones.
I’m willing to bet even deer processors are redlining on work right now to process smaller livestock. One of those “unintended consequences” things.
George Bush was a shit president and his advisers were shittier.
——–
It was only observing Trump getting stuff done and taking flak for it that I realized what a real results guy he was in comparison with Bush. Based on Obama’s 8 years I had no complaints about W especially with his “fundamental transformation of America” bullshit. Only when the spineless establishment GOP left Trump hanging with no support as he tried to enact sane conservative policies did I begin to see through the facade of the swampers (Trump pointing it out helped). A caller recently asked Rush who he thought the next Trump would be for the Republicans. Because he had a hard time understanding the question the reply was a little fuzzy but it boiled down to there won’t be another Trump. Which, sadly, seems likely.
No, there won’t be another Trump, but that’s okay. There won’t be another Reagan, either. The way has been shown, the goblins made to fear. Another will come, wearing a familiar mantle.
And, of course, there will be Barron, and the Year of Vengeance.
Wait, the turds working on your home decided to take a few pods from your stash so they could take them home?

Who am I kidding? Maximum Vlad the Impaler.

Crazy times.
Vlad wasn’t always Vlad, either. Reading some biographies, he waffled a bit on the Sultan and whether he was friend or foe at first. He had a lot of enemies on both sides of the Romanian border, and getting allies was self-interest for him, so his loyalties shifted until he solidified into The Hero Romania Needed if not exactly the one it wanted.
This guy, though. This guy…

What’s a sparklett?
There were about 10 pods in that bag. If I’m a dealer you’re getting a thimble full of sticks and seeds for that.
Just unsubscribed from NFL emails. I’ve enjoyed following the sport for years and I’ll still watch the games if I’m around when they’re on but I’m not missing any sleep to watch a night game anymore. The posts at AoS about allowing names on helmets and the “black national anthem” BS is just ruining it for me. Sports as an escape is gone for the moment. Maybe after a few bankruptcies they’ll get back to their roots.

Literally the perfect example of why establishment Republicans can suck my dick.
Saw a fun article super worried about all the hyper-toxic literal garbage about to be hitting the waste stream as solar panels and wind turbines built a dozen years ago start to reach end of life.
Yes, you can recycle them. It takes more energy than it took to manufacture them, which is already more than most of them will have produced by their mean time-to-failure. Solar panels and wind turbines aren’t power sources. They are very lossy batteries made of toxic materials. Replacing them all with strontium batteries would be an improvement in nearly every measurable way.

“Back yo’ shit up” should be an IT parody song.
“Girl, you done grading, won’t you back that shit up

Don’t come crying to the IT, just back that shit up
Hoe, who is you frowning at? Back that shit up”
US 571
Sweden 575
Maybe by tonight? Certainly by tomorrow.
US 571
Sweden 575
This is an idiotic comparison.
No it’s not. It’s a per million. Sweden went up to a lot of deaths quickly, w/o shutting down their country. And we did EVERYTHING we could to prevent anyone from getting sick … ruined businesses, etc … and the death rate is going to be the same if not higher.
The only difference is population density. In new jersey the death rate was something like 1700 per million.
The US nationwide numbers are driven entirely by the shitty policies of a couple of states, namely NY.
Sweden is about the size of a moderate US state, in terms of population, area, or GDP. And since states are responsible for determining their own policies, it makes much more sense to compare Sweden to individual states rather than the US as a whole. The reality is that most US states have lower numbers than Sweden. Ohio, with about a million more people and less area, is at about 350. Texas, which has three times to population, but less than twice the area, is at 430.
And that doesn’t even consider the rest of the Scandinavian countries, which are much closer to Sweden in terms of population and culture. Their numbers are drastically lower.
Hey now, Wretched pulled the same shit with nursing homes that Cuomo did. She murdered fewer people in absolute terms, but not for lack of effort, only for lack of easy targets.
If you remove NY, NJ, and MI from the numbers, the US rate drops to ~470 per million. Which is why I don’t think looking at any US aggregate numbers is very useful: there are too many variables which can affect the numbers which are in play at local and state levels.
I don’t like the lockdowns, and think masks are annoying, but I also hate crappy statistics.
“Girl, you done grading, won’t you back that shit up

How bout you put up sign that says
“Don’t talk to me about personal files on your work computer or I’ll have to report you”.
Then we can compare it to Michigan. Which closed EVERYTHING. Much is still closed.
Here’s the Michigan comparison
Michigan: 678
Sweden: 575
In fairness, Sweden doesn’t have Detroit.
Sweden didn’t purposefully kill old people like your Gov. Goon did.
“Don’t talk to me about personal files on your work computer or I’ll have to report you”.
Imma about to put that in my email signature
Sweden has no-go zones…so yeah, they kinda have a Detroit.
But their invaders are mostly young and healthy, not old and fat.
Obama was an academic
Obama was a punk puppet of the Swamp. If he is an academic, then I am the twin of Einstein.
*picks nose*
Just Back it Up.
Detroit’s young men are like their invaders as far as youth/health are concerned. Their invaders are more dangerous in their zeal and focus.
Business owners stunned to learn their insurance won’t cover demolition costs of buildings burnt by democrat shock troops. You get what you vote for.
(also…MN ‘code’ won’t allow bars/restaurants to put up those safety gate thingies to prevent their businesses from being lit on fire/vandalized/etc)

=====
Plus their invaders have more hand grenades……
Detroit’s got a fairly old and sick/fat population of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen blacks. Young people with any shot in life don’t stay there. Detroit’s death rate is an order of magnitude higher than the rest of the state for that reason alone. Thus Wretched’s edict that medical people are systemically racist and must be mandatorally re-educated.
My personal belief is that (this is going to sound cold) certain # of deaths were just unavoidable. This virus is going to travel everywhere, and if you’re in a population that is vulnerable, be careful and try to get healthier. period. That’s always been my belief.
We’re never going to hear the number of people who died because of covid, but not of the virus.
The initial lockdowns made sense to me because we didn’t know what the hell we were dealing with, and it’s easier to back off from a stricter response than to try and impose something later. I figured that by the end of April we’d know enough to better tailor a response, and that everyone would have had enough time to adjust how their operations to accommodate any extra precautions.
What the virus has demonstrated is the sheer incompetence, cowardice, and narcissism of most elected officials as well as government bureaucrats. But that may be very good in the long run, as hopefully a lot of people end up paying a political price for the stupidity that we’ve seen.
CA had a year’s worth of suicides by the end of April.
Those won’t be counted as Wuhan Flu deaths, but Newsome is responsible for many of them. Haven’t seen suicide numbers for MI or NY, but I can’t imagine it’s much different.
The problem is “slow the curve” turned into “we’ll blame every death on Trump”. The entire thing was ridiculous. They build excess capacity, then took it down. The idea that we would save lives if only the hospitals didn’t get overwhelmed was thrown away after we spent the money.
Dumb.
They saw an opportunity and scammed off it for all it was worth and then some.
Time to go running. sigh

Funniest thing about the Pedo Bear meme, is most D🐀🐀 are posting it seriously. Weirdo I used to work with tagged me in a few days ago. He is the most offensive person I know. It cracks me up how elemental that kind of engineering is. Scott has been telling me for years about these genius movers who can get anything to where it needs to be, if it’s rigid and has a good balancing point to work with.
And it’s all the same sort of things; boards, rollers, incremental adjustments, taking advantage of tipping points.

Also, Atlantis is real. It’s what we now call Antarctica. Crustal shift. They spread to Africa, India, and South America when the southern continent became uninhabitable.
Okay, that’s probably bullshit, but I am sympathetic to the possibility that there was a coastal trading culture or cultural group that was wiped out by a catastrophic end to the last major glaciation. Even absent such a geographically broad culture, I’m convinced that there was a catastrophic end to that, likely brought about by a cosmic impact on the North American ice sheet, which likely lead to the many, many “myths” of a Great Flood.
