Good morning, and welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day. Let’s get moving, albeit with a weird enough video, even Rosetta might say WTF?
Clearly, a lot of drugs were consumed in the 1970’s.
Let’s see who’s in the hunk folder for today.
This one reminded me of Colorado Alex.
This one is 27, looks younger.
Psst, you awake?
Ok.
The only kind of man buns I want to see.
Thank you for your attention, and y’all have a good day.

Last day of 90 degree heat.
Summer ends today.
Demo Day. Errything is on lockdown.
I feel a little bit pervy looking at these fine young specimens of manhood.
I also suspect most of them are not interested in anyone with XX chromosomes…..
Trump, Walker, Rubio, and Paul will be at a GOP tailgate for the ISU-Iowa football game this weekend. That ought to be fun.
XXX Chromosomes?
Gawd, that video is just so bad. Are the giant breadsticks supposed to be a brain? If yes, then it’s dead Jim.
Yay! We are going to celebrate the last day of summer by lounging at the lake.
Where’s Beasn?? I’m loving Outlander so far. I mean – no he’s not as big as he should be (SYWM) but he’ll do. Claire is also not really voluptuous enough. She’s too skinny.
Also – Jamie should be obviously younger … he looks a tad too old. I think in the book he’s 18 or so?
Yes, that bugged that they picked a skinny chick as Claire. I also noticed her hair goes a tad flat in wet conditions. Naturally curly hair, goes curlier. They should have given her a perm.
No, Jamie was 23ish when they met. She was 3 or 4 years older.
Claire! That’s a fat girls name!

The TiFW’s water heater decided to give up the ghost this morning – Mr. TiFW is not amused….
How long do water heaters usually last?
*getting nervous*
15-20 years
10-15 years.
It depends on many things – the construction of the heater, hardness of your water, how often you drain the sediment, how hot you set them. I’ve seen them go in five, and I’ve seen them go over 20.
Usually the hot water heater doesn’t fail until the husband goes on deployment.
I liked it when my water heater gave out, 3 years. but I couldn’t figure out WTF was wrong, no rust, water looked fine, etc.
Turned out the gas company credited our payment to another account, and our gas shut off THE DAY THE BILL was overdue. 1 day!
Had to have them come out and reset a bunch of stuff. They didn’t charge me, but I still had to take the morning off work.
At least I didn’t need a new water heater.

Until you leave for a 2 week vacation, then they rot out and flood……
Until you have guests coming over………
Penelope was getting the bunk house ready for hunters. She decided to turn on the power to the water heater before filling it. Totally slagged the element, melted in two. Replaced it and the heater is working fine, now..
Ours is 15 years old. I don’t think we ever drained the sediment.
We’re getting city water, so not as hard as our last house.
Don’t remember how high it’s set. It can get pretty hot, but not scalding.
Husband has a month long business trip coming up.
*gets twitchy*
Oh, you’re due then. Might as well get a plumber on standby.
Helpful hint: some plumbers work for big companies, but are willing to drop in a water heater for you in their downtime, for $50 or so. Only takes them 10 mins, and it would cost a lot more than that to gather all the tools to do it yourself.
If you know any plumbers, that is. Or hang out in a bar where they go to.
Just sayin.
The more I read about all of those migrants flooding europe and their violence and demands….WTF is wrong with Europe?
They’re toast. Put a fork in them. Can’t wait ’til the thug in the WH brings over a bunch of his brothers and sons.
At least we have guns.
Beasnette’s BFF’s dad is a plumber.
*puts them on speed dial*
Something funny.
Mr. Beasn has a worm farm going on in a large rubbermaid. He recently changed out some of their ‘bedding’ and decided to use the worm poops…instead of the stuff from the mulch pile… as a base to reseed some bald patches in the yard.
I bet there is about 50 baby tomato plants growing along the driveway. Makes me laugh and laugh.
Worms love tomatoes but spit out the seeds.
Western Euros don’t like to have babies. I was SHOCKED to learn that Germany has the lowest birthrate in the world!! I am still fact finding that one so take it with a grain of salt.
Low birthrates in the Western World are, in my opinion, the undercurrent of all this social engineering. I have never donned the “tinfoil hat” but the way that Western Culture promotes this Godless, blameless, self-centered, Uncle Sugar non-reality reality really has me wondering who the sucker is.
Perhaps we who are between 85 and 35 are too independent. Better to replace us with more malleable third whirlders.
I blame fluoridated water.
I once dated a girl who was like that
I can’t figure out just how dumb McConnell is…He certainly looks stupid. And his actions are that of a pathetic no chiner. But just can’t figure out if he knows how much people hate him or if the bubble he operates within is too tight like Boehner’s.
Hey, Chumpo, I am really appreciating your art threads. They are all thought worthy. Nicely done!
Thank you, my dear. It is truly a labor of love. About a dozen years ago i owned an art gallery in Chinatown L.A. Doing teh ArtWire posts has gotten me back to that and I am grateful.
McConnell and the rest of the dinosaurs are borderline senile. Time those f*ckers retired and let younger men who aren’t one foot in the grave, get things done.
Seriously, congress is a geriatric ward full of narcissistic fools who think they wear a crown……while their decrepit arthritic snouts are firmly stuck in the public trough. F*ckers.
If I could do it all over again, I’d try to have 10 kids.
Just got 620 gallons of propane(and propane accessories) for $0.89/Gal.
Winning!
That’s the spirit.
…and 6 pints of tomato sauce for $600!!!
I told that story to my wife and she laughed. We once grew way to many tomatoes and had a similar experience.
That’s why I just slap the tomatoes in a mason jar, add some lemon juice, and seal em.
Make sauce later.
I knew you couldn’t be an amateur.
If I could do it all over again, I’d try to have 10 kids.

You and me both, Sister.
I’m trying to seed that thought in my daughter’s brain, mare. But she is a LOT like her grandmother (my MiL).
*orders the ‘dream sack’ for HHD candidates*
I have one daughter who never mentions children but is in a very good relationship and another who talks about having a family a lot and definitely wants children.
My husband mentions to them (as often as is appropriate) it’s important good people like them, with strong families and values have children.
Seriously, congress is a geriatric ward full of narcissistic fools who think they wear a crown……while their decrepit arthritic snouts are firmly stuck in the public trough. F*ckers.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I have a friend who’s about to turn thirty and publicly says that she doesn’t want children, but has confessed to me that she actually does. I keep trying to encourage her to come back to the states and settle down with a nice fellow. She’d be happier than she is living in Spain.
There’s hope. As I recall, I never consciously thought about having children until I got married ( I married at 26 two months before I was 27). I’m not sure if I just always assumed it would happen therefore never thought about it. Or I had no clue I would until I had that incredibly settled feeling.
I don’t think plumbers do anything around here for less than $200.
Home Depot charges around $300 for water heater installation.
It’s an easy job, especially with the new Sharkbite fittings.
The lake was perfect. 3 hours of peace and quiet.
No noise, no worries, no people, no clothes.
If I had to do it over again, I’d father as many children as I could.
Pups, would you get to know any of them?
Evening.
Stepped away for a bit – our water heater is about 15 years old, so it’s time for a new one.
The hardest part is going to be getting the new one up into the attic….
If you use anode rods you can make them last twice as long.
I’ll pass that along to Mr. TiFW, Scott – thanks!

This is a test of the pupster broadcast system. Please let me know if you can see the image.
Puppeh…..yes, I can see it.
I was just fooling around about the fathering stuff beansesedswesdfaeasefaekjalkshdhkfkjlfkaejlakjdfll.
I do wish we would have had more kids, especially a month ago when I had to load and unload all my furniture in a moving truck, 3 or 4 more teenagers would have been welcome.
Did anybody else accidentally send a ransom note and the severed pinky of a local businessman’s son to anybody else today?
I was with an employer that had such shitty insurance when we had #2 that we didn’t hother to enroll. Thus #2 was paid for totally out of pocket. Which took until she was in second grade. About a year after I got my vasectomy done we changed jobs and had excellent insurance. Thought about getting a reversal and going for thee but never did.
You should never, ever touch a pipe or electrical outlet or do anything in your house yourself. Always consult a professional and make sure that you only get one price.
I also suspect most of them are not interested in anyone with XX chromosomes…..
Pretty sure that’s true for two of them. Didn’t care.
I talked a lady into installing her own water heater. I went over the whole process about 5 times and she finally agreed to give it a try.
She came in the next day just to give me a hug.
“hug”
I always pause at plumbing. Something about water leaks freaks me out.
Gas lines don’t bother me, though. I’m weird.
Just for the record, I’d have a go at the first HHD guy. A few times.
*puts Scott on speed dial*
I was the same way Jay. Then one day I was at True Value looking for a saddle valve to hook up a dishwasher when the owner says “pull your dress up Nancy and do it right.”
He handed me everything I needed, and gave me instructions like a drill sergeant.
He shamed me into trying.
It’s easy. I have no fear of it now.
Heh, I’m bigger than everyone at True Value. Guess I’ll have to get another store.
Water heaters are easy if you sweat the pipe, stupid easy with the new Sharkbite fittings.
Smokerless Smoked Pork Shoulder
I have a better idea, SMOKE IT! Although I do want to try sous vide cooking.
Mr. TiFW put the last WH in, MJ – he’s done most of the electrical and plumbing as well. No biggie.
Are the sharkbites for the flexible hose?
Comment by Jay in Ames on September 9, 2015 9:03 pm
Are the sharkbites for the flexible hose?
You’re awful young to be having flexible hose problems.
The flexible stuff (pex), copper, or cpvc.
They work really well, but I would only use them in easy access situations because they have to fail at some point.
I really shouldn’t argue politics with family, but I couldn’t resist going after my SIL after she said that Michigan has always been right-to-work.
Heard from a friend who bought a PBC after seeing my pics. He liked it so much, he bought them as presents for some clients. 10 so far.
Funniest part of the weekend though was when my dad dialed the wrong number and told some lady, “Wake your lazy butt up and get over here, we need money.”
a friend who bought a PBC
I’d like one, but I bought a Egg knock-off before the PBC wave hit.
It’s a cult. They sell flowers at the airport.
Haha, want a flower?
$299. Free shipping
Those eggs are pretty neat, too. Right scott?
10 PBCs? Impressive!
I’ve had it for a month and have yet to try it. Haven’t had a weekend where I was home for a decent stretch of time. The weekend of the 18th might work.
Eggs are similar. They are more versatile, but they cost a lot more.
You’re gonna love it, roamy.
This was a knockoff, a Kamado, and was $250.
So do any of the guys ever notice the Easter egg I hide in the HHD poat, or do you just skip over the whole thing and hurry to the comments?
Michigan was always right to work?
When did your sister start smoking the rock, and who’s her dealer?
There’s a UAW Chaplain’s Office in my building, for Heaven’s sake.
I skip over the dude pics, Roamy. Sorry.
I notice Roamy, and I will show my appriciation this Friday.
Leon, it’s my SIL. Sister is nutty, but she didn’t grow up in Michigan. SIL obviously did not know what right to work meant. I would have thought someone who worked for Ford, for cryin’ out loud, would know UAW.
SIL also believes in Jeb!
My dream is that the UAW contract negotiations fall through and the board comes back to my group and says “shelve the robot cars, automate the factories. You can have all the money you need, fuck the UAW”.
I shudder with joy at the motivation I would feel.
I notice when I see the link. Missed it this week, rawr!
I like it when leon talks dirty like that.
Bend over, UAW, here it comes again!
Seriously, I’d work 16 hour days for no OT and cackle all day long.
Make sure you let me know, leon, I’ll help out!
It will never happen. It’s only a happy, happy dream.
Teslas will be made that way, and the Big 2.5 will crater and be rescued at taxpayer expense.
Well, with my every other Friday off, I have a 3 day weekend followed by a 3 day week followed by a 3 day weekend. I wish that they were all like this.
Next week will be hell a real 5 day work week..
I did order a PBC in spite of my apartment living. At my last house I had created a cold smoker from an Orion Cooker (sucked, but made a great smoke pit) 60′ of dryer vent and an old egg cooker. Can you say smoked Gouda? Smoked Oysters? All under 230%%d
Wait how do you get degree symbol? my %%D Is not working.
I’m waiting for fall, then I’m smoking cheese. Provolone and mozzarella.
Tomatoes in lemon juice and that’s it? No heating?
blerg. Work was … ugh. I don’t want to talk about it.
I had five.I could have been one of those women who had 10 or twelve but we lived in a very small house and ran out of room in our minivan.
Well, yeah, heat them up, cook them for the required time. That’s part of canning.
So … I don’t know if you guys have heard much about the Michigan lawmaker who did a bone head thing and used taxpayer money to attempt to hide an affair )with another elected official ) and then tried to pretend he was being blackmailed over some gay sex thing …?
Guess who was at my homeschool group today? The wife and the kids.
yikes. On the same day they’re doing some sort of special meeting – (it’s on the big radio stations) etc.
I had five.I could have been one of those women who had 10 or twelve but we lived in a very small house and ran out of room in our minivan.
Too bad. You could have made a killing trading them for sheep.

Jam2 is in an interesting mood this morning.

God I hate you people.
I got the new Erik Larson book. Dead Wake. Which reminds me of this place.
Guess I’ll go read it.
I’m pretty much sick of this “going to the office” thing.
And my social calendar is double-booked for tonight.
My social calendar is non-existent.
I’m reading Dead Wake too Carin. The ship is underway and steaming for the Irish Sea. Excellent book so far.
Our internet is FUBAR’d and we’ve done all the tricks that we can to reset it. Guess who gets to hang around after work tomorrow to wait for the TWC tech?
(double thumbs)
This guy!
A couple of years ago we had a similar problem with the cable TV and the tech said the mice had eaten some spots in the cable and that was the cause. If they say the same thing I’m going to suggest they replace the cable with some kind of mouse proof shit.
I’m listening to Gone Girl on the way to work. Movie was really good, but the book adds another layer. I hated the characters in the movie (as I was supposed to) but I have sympathy for them in the book, which adds more complexity. Even though I know the spoiler, it makes it really good.
Dead Wake sounds good.
*adds to list
My practice partner is big on listening to books. Pretty sure he listens when he’s on his treadmill and on road trips. He lives 10 minutes to work so I can’t imagine he gets to hear much then. We carpooled from Maine to Toronto a few years back and on the way home listened to Cutting For Stone for hours. He gave me a bootlegged copy since it didn’t finish but I’ve never listened to it. It sounded like what I imagine one of Tushar’s family reunions sounds like.
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/cutting-for-stone-abraham-verghese/1100047420
It was actually pretty interesting. Maybe I ought to find it…
30 mins in, 30 mins out, I get a lot of listening time in.

Work
A girl in our homeschool connection thing said she wanted to go by a boy name that she was a boy etc. She’s always looked like a boy. The mom is still calling her a she so I’m sticking with that.
We were sitting around at the homeschool thing and brought up the idea of a book club. I suggested that book and since I”m such an overpowering bully I won.
Plus no one else had any thoughts on book choices.
Kevin Jennings had some book club ideas.
New post.

So what, MJ? I’m staying here.

It’s so lonely here!
