Armageddon III: The Wuhan Flim Flam

In: Abundance Of Caution

There are a lot of ways to look at the Novel Coronavirus, Covid-19, Wuhan virus, Kong Flu, Trump’s Katrina or whatever name you like.  Because so much about this new illness is unknown it makes sense to be cautious.  I do get the sense that the amount of caution being inflicted on us is a little extreme.  Earlier last month or even before that we were talking about why there is all the hysteria about getting flu shots and most people agreed it seemed like a new thing in the last 10 years or so to really harp on flu prevention. Knowing the flu routinely kills more people yearly than this new scary virus has thus far  makes you wonder why everything is being canceled for it like concerts, sporting events, conferences and dates with your mom.  Trump and the GOP have the incentive to minimize risk for the US population and the economy as well as hopefully avoid a big explosion in cases.  The Dems and the media are benefiting from panic and American unease about it in their hope of unseating the Orange Man.  Perfect Storm. The stock market was due for a correction and, to me at least, it seems like this provided a convenient excuse for it to happen.
