Our government is a giant shitball of incompetents, liars and fascist pricks.
Some of those videos are unavailable.
I am sitting in a reclining chair next to Rebecca’s bed. Can’t sleep. We are keeping her on a constant schedule of painkillers until they come at 6:00 am CST to take her for a closed reduction of her hip.
Her original surgeon will be doing other surgeries all day, so he asked one of his colleagues to do the reduction first thing in the morning, rather than making her wait all day for him to get to her.
There IS a plan going forward after this, but I am too wiped out to write about it right now.
Rebecca is in good hands. She is also in His hands. We are at peace.
Hopefully it gets reduced with only light sedation.
I’m sorry this happened Teresa. I have a few thoughts but I’ll keep my mouth shut because I’m not her surgeon who I’m sure has done vastly more arthroplasties than I have.

I can’t think of a simpler demonstration of the maxim, “You are what you eat” than eating a bunch of asparagus and taking a wizz 30 to 60 minutes later.
My friend who still works at the hospital texted me about the latest cost cutting measure they’re implementing: cafeteria will be open from 0600-0730 and after that there will be vending machines with fresh food in a section of the cafeteria. I’m surprised they didn’t just farm it out to a contractor like they do at colleges or sports stadiums. That’s what they did with their entire laboratory service.
Yes, it is true. Mentally ill people have periods have people.
wakey wakey.
Also – let me count the number of times I’ve used feminine products (you heard what I said) provided in one of those machines in a bathroom …
oh, right. NEVER. Somehow,I’ve made it to the ripe old age of 55 who still gets her period (SYWM) w/o having the troubling dilemma of being in a bathroom that doesn’t provide them. I don’t even think many bathrooms do that anymore?
Those women will remain poor and struggle to have a family (or any other achievements) for the rest of their lives. Because some teachers who pretended to care about them violated that trust and brainwashed them at a critical time in their development. If they ever manage to get right in the head, it will be more devastating than staying inside the delusion. This is a real dilemma and I feel sorry for them. Deprogramming bad ideas out of yourself is usually a relief, but not this time.
Welp. Slept like crap. No way THAT comes back to haunt me today.
Sposta be a 100% chance of rain from now til 1400. We’ll see.
100% is a bold claim for a professional weather guesser.
Hey, Lumps, what did that video say about apples. Didn’t have the 49 minutes but are they bred for sweetness and therefore less healthy?
I liked the premise that she was feeding her pigs dropped fruit which I guess would be “seasonal.”
Teresa, please let us know how things turn out. I’ll be praying for Rebecca today and of course, your family.
So tough.
I didn’t watch the whole thing, but basically there used to be a lot more kinds of apples (biodiversity is good for resilience) and now a lot of genetic variability has been lost.
Jimbro, two for two on the fun uplifting videos.

Gotcha.
And the managing of livestock naturally with fruit harvests.
It’s really offputting how she is sitting in front of the camera. I wonder if she was mortified when she saw the video. I sure would have been, but I don’t sit like that anyway. Are there any ladies anymore? Does anybody teach girls this stuff anymore?
The guy hosting the fishing pier video seemed like a normal guy who truly enjoyed fishing. Plus it was a chance to look at something other than a snow covered landscape for a change. I dropped Lola off at the groomer’s this morning and the plows have created huge banks at the ends of the road necessitating you edge your vehicle out practically in the line of traffic to see if it’s safe to go. Which is, totally not safe …
I feed dropped pears to the horses and chickens sometimes, but it’d really be better to fatten pigs on them. Or to ferment them and then distill into pear brandy.
We had a bad one like that a little over ten years ago, Jimbro. The snowbanks were over our heads and extended into the streets. We were laughing that when I drove my truck into the driveway it was like a carpenter bee disappearing into a bee hole in wood.
I was halfway listening to some podcast and this woman was talking about drinking dairy during one season and then after the milking season people would eat the cheese they “put up” from the milking season.
In other words, people should drink dairy but not milk AND cheese. Too much fat. Farmers would naturally drink dairy when the cows had milk and make cheese from that milk and eat it when cows didn’t have milk.
Nowadays, we have milk all year round due to milking machines and whatnot.
Also, CAULK.
In Europe, perry is made from pears that are grown specifically for that purpose. Supposed to be not so good for eating.
Rebecca went back for her procedure at 7:45 am. I stayed with her last night and made sure that she got some form of pain medication every 2 hours (alternated Hydrocodone and Tramadol all night), so she was nice and rested this morning. Mostly I just didn’t want her to feel that raw pain that she experienced yesterday.
She shouldn’t be back too long – they said this is a relatively quick procedure. And this time they are going to try and adjust the medication as she comes out of anesthesia so that we won’t have a repeat of last week!
She will come out of surgery fitted with a brace contraption which should help keep her leg in the correct position – that may be our next battlefield…
🙏
So. Cold and near freezing again. Updownupdownupdown. This is truly some cunty weather.
The weather forecast for today is cunty with a slight chance of dickassery.
twitter: Scott Adams is really sorry
Someone finally came around, after bashing everyone online about Covid and Vaccines.
twitter: Hochul is clueless and loves power
She won’t rehire unvaccinated nurses, instead relying on traveling nurses, who aren’t required to be vaccinated.
I feel so sorry for laura, living up in that area. I’m sure it’s the exact thing there.
Scott Adams is a cunt. He can take his snark and shove it up his ass with a dildo.
My weather prediction is correct.
Apple seeds have to have cold to germinate and sprout. The usual way to do it is to put apple seeds in baggies of potting soil and leave them in the crisper drawer in your fridge for four months.
By doing this you are breeding your own trees. Most seeds give apples trees that are similar to their parents. The problem is that they take five to ten years before they start giving fruit.
Modern apples are bred for flavor and ability to store and travel. There are lots of apples though
Here is a database of apples varieties

Someone finally came around, after bashing everyone online about Covid and Vaccines.
That’s not how that reads to me. It looks more like Adams is saying that there was no way he could have known better because he doesn’t have a good BS detector and wants to trust government and doesn’t have any method to evaluate valid independent judgments. This is his way of excusing himself. IOW, his reflexively trusts what authorities tell him and that’s his touchstone for truth. Idiot.
This is more like Sam Harris, saying that it was kind of just a weird accident that the official approved storyline was totally misleading or false, which means he was really right. And gee, it’s too bad the pandemic wasn’t far worse and more deadly, and that would have justified all the authoritarian measures. And so he was right, if only he could have a different set of facts.
Being highly trained in what passes for “science” these days can lead some folks to doubt or even their own God-given intuition and moral sense in the interest of “overcoming bias”. There is also a hefty class consciousness that blinds many of them. “I am an intellectual, and I am honest and humble about my capacities. These others are also intellectuals, they are almost certainly humble and honest like me.”
The root of the issue for folks like Harris is actually theological, because they’ve discarded any notion that (1) reason and intuition are both given by God that we might better understand Creation and that (2) there is that within Creation that God wants us to understand, and He empowers uniquely us to do so, for we are made in His likeness. But good luck getting a credentialed imbecile to properly understand such things.
Kindltot, what role does scion wood and grafting play in apple propagation? I thought they used grafting to get an apple true to its parent
David the Good ran a tree nursery for a while and has a lot of videos on grafting. Most baby apple trees are sold as grafts, with the root being a related but hardier apple variety or a pear, iirc. Doing it yourself isn’t too hard, though, if you have an apple tree you really like. Modern apples are weak, though. We bred for thin skins for so long that they have almost no protection from worms and wasps and whatnot, so spraying pesticide is a near necessity.
Pears are still pretty tough. I may expand my Bartlett orchard soon. Those things make a few hundred pounds of fruit a year with no help from me at all.
That’s not how that reads to me.
Correctumundo.
He’s being a snarky cunt – pretending to have come around when all he’s doing is comparing everyone else to a broken wristwatch.
My pear tree is well established but has low yields. Maybe a dozen-twenty pears yearly. I’ve ignored it other than occasional pruning. Maybe it needs some fertilizer or chicken shit to thrive
Kindletot, what role does hickory wood and leather play in that which you have shoved up your ass? And how many are there?
My grandmother and mother made apple pies with a variety called Wolf River (as I recall). They didn’t have to worry about us stealing them out of the basket because they had skins tough as nails, and the insides we a shade softer than wood.
But when cooked up, man did they make awesome pies.
I doubt that the variety is available today.
You need two different-sexed trees to get pears, Jimbro. Otherwise all you get are flowers and lucky accidents when a distant tree of the other sex was visited by one of your pollinators.
Unfortunately the whole internet has fucked itself over on the issue for the sake mentally-ill attention whores, so you may have to search “finding the gender of a pear tree” to figure out what you have and thus what you need to complement it.
Those apples were so fucking big you had to use two hands to pick them up.
Maybe your pear tree is trans.
Pear trees are like people, male and female.
I’m sure eventually Academia will “rectify” this by brutal tree butchery, but I’m yet to see it.
My sister has been doing some sleuthing on the inter webs, and sent me some genealogy info that I find rather fascinating.
Up until yesterday the furthest back in my dad’s family I knew about was my great great grandfather Elijah, who was born in 1774 In Montague, MA.
My sister has gone all the way back to Johne William, born in 1512 in Salford Priors, England.
That’s thirteen generations back from me.
So Pence has informed congress that he found classified documents at his home from his time as vice-president.
What is this amateur cunt trying here?
Put the fucker in Leavenworth next to Biden.

Amen.
Wouldn’t someone with two brain cells to rub together throw them in the fireplace and call it a night?
I didn’t need Pence to tell me that he was uniparty fuckup, but apparently he thought I needed more evidence.
(1) Don’t take it out of the SCIF.
(2) DON’T TAKE IT OUT OF THE SCIF.
(3) If you violate rules 1 and 2, take it to your Facility Security Officer and fill out every form he hands you to the best of your ability while appearing apologetic and meek.
This is not complicated.
Here’s my point, in the middle of a classified document clusterf8ck, someone with brains would just say “well shit, this was overclassified, it’s at my home, time to get rid of this shit.”
Why muddy the waters while the shit is swirling around Biden? Why take the lens of Biden?
Because Pence is a cunty prick.

Also, because he’s a democrat cunty prick Pence chose to have everyone say, “I guess everyone has classified documents, no big deal.”
You and I know the documents Biden had were valuable to China and Ukraine.
Pence, you will never get my vote DIAFF.
He can’t just shred it or burn it, iirc. He’d be breaking the law, and they could come after him if a chain of custody thing ever pointed to him as last person to have something now missing. He may actually have tried to do what I said and take it to the FSO quietly and someone blabbed when they shouldn’t have.
Then again, if he knows there’s no paper trail to him and he doesn’t just burn it, he’s either stupid or on Team Jill trying to keep Meat Puppet in place.
Ummm, that’s what Hillary did.

It should surprise you not at all that Hillary broke the law.
and so far, Trump is the only one that had the clearance to have possession of classified documents. but they gloss over that point.
How did they find documents in Pence’s house anyway?
Was he raided?
This is all pathetic.
Not quite right, Jay. Most elected officials have some level authority to handle classified docs. Trump is the only one who ever had absolute authority to declassify anything he liked. Trump also built his document storage under advisement from the National Archivist and followed their recommendations to the letter.
My favorite picture from yesterday
I’m sure Pence is giving Brandon cover, by claiming he had classified documents. Probably on request by the White House.
the VP can’t “handle” documents in his garage or his home.

One would infer that he volunteered the information.
In other words he wants to play too, and brought his own ball.
I just found some TS documents in my chicken coop!!! I forgot all about those.

Christ.
I remember when Pence was an excellent government rep from Indiana, and I was happy when Trump chose him.
Me and Pepperidge Farm remember
Timcast w/ Steven Crowder had over 160,000 live viewers last night. Saturday Night Live peaked at 7.500 live viewers over the weekend. Alt media is booming. You love to see it.
At the time it was widely accepted that Trump chose him to pander to the evangelicals.
Then we found out he’s a fucking toolbox.
Sort of like when John McCain got rammed down our throats – only later did we find out what utter scum he was.
can’t agree more, HS!
oh no, someone tell laura!
stupid newspeople. Don’t become self sufficient, let us take care of it!
twitter: mess with the bull…
There is a small possibility that the Junta actually thought Pence was a threat and wanted to wipe him out while protecting Biden.
They aren’t exactly the sharpest spoons in the ice cream tub, so it’s not impossible that they literally cannot read the room on the other side.
Doubting Pence had any TS documents – he’s weak sauce the whole way.
twitter: mess with the bull…
That’s one supremely athletic bull. I’m guessing that there’s at least a million hispanic males on facebook right now arguing over whether he’s the GOAT or not.
Should I tell the FBI about the top secret documents I just found in my jock strap?
LOL
Wear a bright red shirt to a bullfight.
What could go wrong?
We rode in a friend’s Tesla while we were in Vegas. Acceleration was incredible. Back seat was tiny.
Odd, that cuck, Pence wasn’t this helpful during the Maralago raid.
Odd that.
Bulls are incredible powerful. I’ve seen a 1,500 pound bull jump a 5 1/2′ tall fence.

Probably because nobody wanted them back.
Dad’s hearing aides have a horrible feedback squeal when they aren’t properly seated in the ear canal. I can hear it all across the house. It pops out every five minutes. This is driving me absolutely nuts. We go to an audiologist and the ENT Friday.

I’ve been in Athol before. It stank.
Athol is actually in a nice part of MA. I went for a few hikes around there with classmates from that area. So funny growing up in SE Mass and never being further west in the state than Worcester (for concerts) until I went to med school. I did my National Guard drills at the Springfield NG Armory and for the real western MA experience did my outpatient pediatric rotation in Great Barrington which is a hop, skip and jump from the NY border.
I know I’ll be corrected so I don’t have to ask but haven’t even our shit scientists admitted that eggs are not an issue concerning cholesterol? And in fact, cholesterol is good for us (since our brain is made of it and we need it for hormones) and it’s plaque or moving triglycerides that are the problem? And that problem stems from an overeating of simple carbohydrates?

“Manufacturing is an ongoing process. If we learn by doing, we forget by not doing.”
All the drugged up zombies lining the streets of cities is directly related to our loss of manufacturing jobs. These all could have been productive knowledgeable people once.
“all” is doing a lot of work in that sentence
Ok, yeah, that was bad. I don’t know the degree. But I see a relationship. Destruction of the family is a huge cofactor too.
Yuval Harari wants to put them in pods and feed them digital heroin until they can be composted.
I read an article about the drugged out zombies in Philadelphia. Apparently heroin now comes with a wildly addictive animal tranquilizer.
The new additive also causes nasty wounds that often ends with amputation. Since there is no treatment for horse tranquilizer detox, they resist medical treatment.
It’s really gross. Zombies with large festering wounds all over the place.
Coming to a city near you.
Right. Because allowing the revitalization of society and civilization would be taking things in the wrong direction.
Re. manufacturing… I’ve seen several US companies bringing more manufacturing in-house. One knife company was buying all their screws from a supplier in California. The price went from $1.85 each to $2.65. If they make them in-house, their cost goes down to $.20 per screw. They did the math, and they can pay off two Swiss lathes in under 2 years. The first batch of screws was finished last week.
Hmmm

I saw the same article or one similar the other day. It had embedded video of the poor bastards stumbling around in downtown Philly. Half of me says, “these folks have forfeited their lives and we as a society need to do the humane thing and put them out of their misery.” The other half of me says, “these poor bastards are somebody’s sons and brothers and are holding out hope that there’s a miracle outcome and we as a society need to give them that opportunity.” 99% of me says we need to put the pushers of this nasty shit in front of a firing squad and leave the corpse in the street for others to learn from.
Right. Because allowing the revitalization of society and civilization would be taking things in the wrong direction.
1000 oligarchs with 500000 slaves apiece. It’s Sustainabletm.
Also — and I’m not saying Bill Gates knows this, because he’s clearly a soy-based soyform — but you can’t make T without cholesterol. It’s essential for life, vitality, and fertility that you have good cholesterol in your diet. Want bad cholesterol? Eat so little of it that you force your body to make it in situ from other crap.
Loss of manufacturing jobs. Destruction of the family. Undermining of civic organizations. Withering of organized religion. Each part of a coordinated attack on the verge of taking down its target.
Fills me with rage. We could all have had so much better lives, but somebody thought the world should be different, elevating themselves at everyone else’s expense.
This is why I have to play the clown. It’s all that keeps the rage in check anymore.

Man, do I need some time in sunlight. Seeing some in the car on the way to work for ten minutes, is not doing it for me.
Pepe,
New CNC machines are amazing. If you spend the money a robot to feed material into it, it can crank out parts 24/7. Manufacturing can and will move back to the US when China collapses.
Thermadin, yep, the screw machines have big bar feeders. They load the bar stock before they leave, and run lights out all night long.
Another company just got a robot. It sits between 2 machines and loads them alternately. Even without a robot, they have a series of pallets that switch out.
