Sad Story & then some pics

There once was a monkey named Juan Pedro Eustace Morales Domingo Santa-Bella del a Cruz the third.

He was a very nice monkey.

Then he got mixed up with a bad crowd.

Then he died a horrible death.

My inner monkey weeps at his passing.

The next story which the above pictures tell the tale of goes something like this:

I was wondering around taking pictures of flowers.

My fishing buddy called me because one of his bee hives swarmed.

He was busy trying to figure out what to do with them so he called me for my sage advise and adroit help.

He smoked a bunch of weed and I got the nuc ready –

We then (and by we i mean mostly me because he’s a dick and too short to reach up in the hedge and cut the swarm out) transferred the swarm into a nuc (their holding cell) and then we went fishing.

That brown trout is actually about 20 to 21″ long… the photo is weird. I caught it right at dark and had a hell of a time getting it unhooked and calmed down enough to take a pic before i released it back into the sweet sweet waters of it’s birf.

I then hooked a fish that was so big i couldn’t turn it… that one got away.

  7. Situation Update, June 22, 2022 – Diesel engine oil OUTAGE ALERT – entire supply WIPED OUT until 2023

    https://www.brighteon.com/aeef8f40-6235-4290-8018-4c4ce428e3f2

TL/DL: Diesel engine oil isn’t being manufactured due to the additives not being produced by the chemical companies. Tractor trailer rigs change their oil every 25,000 miles on average, roughly every 10 weeks. Add to that escalating diesel fuel prices and DEF shortages it’s going to get ugly. Ditto for trains. Get your Christmas shopping done now.

Mike Adams, “Health Ranger” is a hair-on-fire kind of guy but he’s usually right about this stuff to a certain degree.

  8. Listening to Biden reminds me of listening to my dad close to the end. He was having trouble making connections in his brain. Thoughts were about 75% there, but stuff was missing.

  9. Left Northern Ireland this morning. Found out they don’t eat corned beef here, that’s an American thing. They eat a lot of bacon, and their bacon is closer to ham, a lot less fat. They call our bacon streaky bacon.

  10. Anyone else having trouble sleeping because the general feeling is that everything is not going to be okay?

Btw, SIL’s mom found the car. She drove up, yesterday, to do some searching on her own after sleuthing with the gas station attendant, maps, etc.. A mall is right next to the highway, on the road he lost the car. So she thought she’d also do some shopping. While trying to get into the mall parking lot, she took a few wrong turns (his parents live in the boonies) and there was the car. A block down the road, behind the mall.

Her son had walked from there, across the highway, 7.5 miles to the gas station and attendant that called/paid for his Uber. He passed other gas stations but didn’t go in them because he thought he was somewhere else and close to home. And he said he was still a little loopy when he got there.

After figuring the time he walked and other things he said upon intense questioning, that is exactly the area I wanted to search but Mr. B got grumpy with me…”but he said you could see it from the street”…when I made him drive up that way…and wanted to return to.

Anyway..his friends did not think him drunk when they initially took him back to the car, at the bar. He had gone back into the bar because he lost the lens cap to his camera. While inside, he bought a light beer and struck up a conversation with another patron about cameras. The other guy bought him a shot of expensive, potent, bourbon….which hit him after he got back in the car and everything got fuzzy for him. Couldn’t remember if he got on the highway, didn’t remember where he got off, was still loopy after 7.5 walk..

Was he roofied or is he such a lightweight that booze would stay in his system that long after a 7 mile trek?

  12. Also, there’s a compact car called the Leon. Honda Civic-looking.

  17. Do they eat “Canadian” bacon?

  18. They shut down trucking and life will def take on a new lvl of suck.

  19. Beasn, I am worried that I have made a colossal mistake taking a trip right now, but I am hoping it will all work out. Worried too that Rocketboy and SIL aren’t doing anything to prepare.

  20. No Bananas – No Peace!!!

  21. I just read this poat… someone needs to go back to English 101.

  22. Carin, not really like Canadian bacon. Like a slice of ham with a streaky bacon tail. Mini-me tried kippers, said she didn’t like the tiny bones.

  23. Roamy, be happy you went. It’s a lovely place to visit. If you didn’t, would there ever be another opportunity to do so?

  25. I’m not sleeping well either, though in my case because constant bladder crap. But yeah, this shit plays on my existing dysfunctions and I’m starting to get pissed at everyone, the ones doing it and the ones who refuse to do anything about it.

If it goes even the best possible way, a lot of folks nominally “on our side” will get done in for refusing to act when they manifestly should have. It’s going to be crazy ugly no matter what and we will not recognize what comes out the other side, no matter who wins.

How many bangers have you had?

    (round to the nearest handful)

  31. Best of luck, Car in.

For the record, I never said I was going to join the team, and I also want asked to (harrumph) but I actually do have something important to do. Last weekend I flew to MT, packed my family in my van, and drive them all to DC over the course of three days. That was way too much driving, but so worth it. I get to enjoy them for three weeks, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.

  32. Right now, my estimated run times (of day) are: 8:03am, 12:55 pm, 6:11 pm, 10:26 pm, 3:19 am, 8:35 am.

    Order of runs is 3, 6, 8, 3, 6, 8.

So it looks like that 12:55 is going to be the worst (temp wise) and maybe the 6:11.

  33. I watched Napoleon Dynamite with my boys last night, and we all laughed hysterically.

I need a definitive list of the movies that a dad needs to make sure his kids see. We all loved Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Galaxy Quest, and the best part for me was getting to see them for the first time again, through their eyes. The Sixth Sense was great, too, getting to watch their reactions.

  34. I tease Sobek. I had/have a runner. He’s just been unreliable. He’s still planning on doing it. If he had come right out and dropped I certainly would have started begging/bugging you. But I’ve been in this gray area for months and months. Pretty much all along. He’s the gym owner too, so that make is difficult.

  35. Second hand Lions. The Frighteners.

  36. Is he, Sobek? I never heard of him before that video and went to bed instead of looking into him further.

  37. I’m calling in today. Not feeling great, crap sleep so I don’t trust myself driving in on the commute, and there’s fuck-all going on today at the office anyway. I’ve sacrificed enough for that place over twelve years. Time to look after myself.

  38. Sooooo glad Scott replaced diesel Banglar Party Van with a gas Banglar Party Van. Holeee shit. That was a close one. DEF did figure high in his decision making, as did the ridiculous price of diesel which is stupid and ridiculous.

  39. This is long, but fascinating:

  40. “Time to look after myself.”

What are you going to do today?

  41. Monkey Gone to Heaven is the first Pixies song I ever heard. I never really got into that band, but I do like that song.

  42. Eh, reading that article and it seems a bit sensationalist.

  44. Schindler’s List

  45. Not as many bangers as your mom

  46. Yea, I’m gonna pass on Laura’s movie night.

  47. What are you going to do today?

Not entirely sure, but I suspect large portions split between napping and praying. I need both to get my mind clear right now and I’m short on sleep and prayer of late.

Also hit the job sites, though I get this increasing sense the course of events may make such endeavors moot. Gotta try anyway, I have a long and glorious history of getting things like that wrong.

Def going to hit the support group this evening, provided I don’t somehow feel even worse physically.

Plus I should get something for this nagging dry cough I’ve had on and off for a week. It’s not good.

    …yes, I may be a mess.

  48. You’re always a mess, but you recognize that, and prayer and rest are a great plan.

  49. I just rewatched Stand By Me last week. What a great movie.

Second Hand Lions is a great movie. My kids all know and love The Princess Bride.

  50. Lumps, you are a national treasure.

  51. sobek, gotta introduce them to Tin Cup, especially the last shot at the US open.

    Gimme another ball!

  52. introduced my nephew to Band of Brothers too, and We Were Soldiers

  53. Secondhand Lions has the best fight scene

  54. Major League is a channel stopper for me, too.

  55. Eh, reading that article and it seems a bit sensationalist.

Emerald is known for that. She has gems though, not like Taylor Lorenz.

Did you know her uncle (Taylor’s) owns The Wayback Machine, and has erased her tweets from the service? She a spoiled rich kid.

  56. I may have snort raffed at the mental pic of roamy with a handful of bangers with mash dripping off….

I’m not sure when I heard about this movie but it was nowhere near its 1981 release. I picked up a copy sometime after Paula and the boys moved in and we watched it as a family movie night. Paula rolled her eyes at it but Ben watched it several times after that. It’s a quirky movie with a lot of laughs.

  60. seems like that Emerald article is one of her gems. She did have a leg up on everyone, and lets Faux News have it.

Love it that now I’m using Faux News like a good little communist.

  61. i like Time Bandits too. Have to rewatch it.

How do your boys feel about Monty Python? Holy Grail and Life of Brian are 2 favorites.

  63. Having the full Irish breakfast was always a highlight of any trip I took over there. Not that anyone in Ireland actually eats a full Irish breakfast other than once or twice a year.

    Eggs
    Bangers
    Streaky bacon
    Blood pudding
    Beans
    Fried tomato halves/mushrooms
    Toast with butter
    Tea

  64. Monty Python and the Holy Grail didn’t get nearly the replays as it deserved here.

  65. Add one to the pile – my aunt is probably triple vax’d. She had a stoke and now is legally blind.

  66. I actually saw a pretty good movie recently – Nightmare Alley.

  67. Was he roofied or is he such a lightweight that booze would stay in his system that long after a 7 mile trek?

I’m going to posit that he is a liar and was hitting up some barfly chick.

  68. Damn, that’s sad Carin

  69. The “I had one drink – it was given to me – and boy did I feel weird” is the oldest and worst excuse in the book.

Anyone who says they’ve been roofied is looking for an excuse. Except for me. I was roofied once.

  70. How does one lose a car by way of getting some strange, though?

We watched the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie last night. Better than I expected. Because it’s the Current Year+7 they made the primary marital relationship interracial and that felt a little forced, but it wasn’t written badly and the actors at least made it seem like they were an actual couple.

It was my understanding that the corned beef thing was “Irish” only in that the traditional St Pats meal was a pork roast, but in NYC the Irish immigrants were living next door to the Jewish butchers and delis, and adjusted accordingly based on availability and price.

  71. what leon said about corned beef. The Jews adapted, and sold that crappy piece of tough meat at a low price to the poorer people. They just got it right. Pastrami is a work of art, and takes time to prepare.

  72. It was also in the days when beef was the cheapest meat you could buy in the US. “Porterhouse” steaks were a common enough thing that an actual porter could afford to eat one at the end of a workday without pinching pennies to do it.

  73. Add white pudding (fat instead of blood) and that’s been the regular offering. It’s a big pile of food. Mini-me and I have been splitting them, or I just get scrambled eggs and meat when it’s a buffet.

  74. The Irish brown bread doesn’t set off the inflammation like American bread does. I figure it’s not GMO or doesn’t have all the pesticides.
I was able to walk nearly everywhere up until yesterday. Knees are bitching at me today.

  75. wonder when corntns immigration joke will start.

  76. Cornyn dammit

  77. On one of my trips to Ireland I played the role of Sausage Smuggler. On our way to the airport my Uncle Mike stopped by a butcher shop in downtown Cork, bought a bunch of frozen meat and loaded it into my suitcase. When I was going through customs on the way home at Logan I lied about bringing any thing in despite the fact that my suitcase had visible condensation on it. We had sausage and blood pudding for weeks after that.

  79. Drag is inherently sexual. That’s the point – a man dresses as a woman to be seen as a sexual and to dance and put on a persona.

    There is no drag accounting.

  80. *wonders what the statute of limitations is on sausage smuggling*

Depends on whose gentlemen’s sausage you were smuggling.

  81. Eat your ham, Tina.

  82. but in NYC the Irish immigrants were living next door to the Jewish butchers and delis, and adjusted accordingly based on availability and price.

Ah the good ol’ American Melting Pot. Which is just cultural appropriation and is totally Racist you racists. Everyone must stick to their own lanes and there shalt be neither mixing nor melting.

Except the car was found 3 hours by foot, with a flat tire, from the gas station. He didn’t say he was roofied. My husband asked him if it was a possibility because still feeling loopy after a 7 mile walk is sus. Or perhaps he was dehydrated. He did say he was crazy thirsty.

You haven’t seen my SIL. He’s a nice…albeit dopey…kid. Not barfly bait. Pretty sure his energy level isn’t conducive to extracurricular activity of the nature hotsquirt suggests

  87. “Eat your ham, Tina.”

    🙂

  88. Clarence Thomas, dropping the hammer of justice on the gun grabbers.

Imagine if crime victims in NY are allowed to defend themselves. That’s just crazy enough to work.

  89. Clarence Thomas writes more opinions than all the other justices. Sometimes 3X more. And is a nice person, even according to Sotomayor. Her entire worldview is based on feelings, so that part is that much more important to her, which adds weight to her statements about Thomas.

  97. Based and Gay

  98. My gay brother owns more AR’s and AK’s than I’ll ever own.

  99. Based and Gay link is awesome.

From Alito’s concurrence: “One night in 1987, Austin Fulk, a gay man from Arkansas, was chatting with another man in a parking lot when four gay bashers charged them with baseball bats and tire irons. Fulk’s companion drew his pistol from under the seat of his car, brandished it at the attackers, and fired a single shot over their heads, causing them to flee and saving the would-be victims from serious harm.”

So my question is, why do liberals hate gay people so much?

  100. From Alito’s concurrence:

“On July 7, 2020, a woman was brutally assaulted in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Her assailant slammed her into the ground and began to drag her around while strangling her. She was saved when a bystander who was lawfully carrying a pistol pointed his gun at the assailant, who then stopped the assault and the assailant was arrested.”

So my question is, why do liberals hate women so much?

  101. If I had to guess, since I never asked him, my brother’s affinity for firearms is for that reason.

  102. For Oso

If I were a black dude living in a high crime area, I would definitely own and train with a gun. If I were a woman anywhere, I would definitely own and train with a gun. And I would be appalled at anyone who thought my personal safety needed to take a back seat to their political agenda.

  104. Jimbro, Thank you. I have the Ocearch shark app on my phone. You should be seeing more activity soon.

  105. If I lived in Uvalde, TX I would definitely own and train with a gun.

  106. If I lived…

That’s it, that’s all the reason anyone needs.

Explains why they aren’t worried about how bad of a job they are doing. It’s in the bag already.

  111. MJ, yes, he is all sorts of dumbass. My daughter knows the people he was with. To barfly is a stretch.

Husband is still not quite over him getting shitfaced the night before their wedding, and nearly puking between wedding photos. Husband was super pissed at the wedding and the wondering of what kind of man his daughter was marrying had him crying walking her down the aisle.

He held off confronting him because the kid was regretful and weepy most of that morning. Then I reminded Husband his indiscretion of visiting a skanky titty bar the night before our wedding after I asked him not to. Granted, his friends took him but he didn’t object.

    Probably as acting coach

  119. Oh, the Olbermann comments are wonderful. Thanks, Jay.

  120. Of course, Big Trouble in Little China is one of the best movies of all time…..

  121. Si, si, Pepe. All the Pythons. Meaning of Life. The TV show. I love MST3K. Dan was providing Tom Servo commentary to the dog show.

  122. We quote Tombstone and we love Tremors.

  123. Drinker loves BTiLC and Tremors. Has referred to Tremors as an example of very solid scriptwriting, even.

  124. Almost forgot Dodgeball. Very quotable

  125. If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!

    Globo-Gym!

  126. Tremors leads to Fred Ward. I really wish Remo Williams had caught on. Loved the books. Much fun. Wow.

  127. Tremors is so, so much better than it has any right to be. Giant worms attacking a small town? Shoestring budget and short filming schedule?

But it is such a great movie.

  128. That’s the writing, Sobek. I had the same sense with Boogeyman. Hokey CGI, no budget, but the acting was solid and the story beats were there, every set up was paid off, etc.

  129. Ouch!

  130. How did I not know we were a Tremors blog?

  132. i never watched it. Probably will, just because of the drinker recommends.

  133. “Probably will, just because of the drinker recommends.”

The Drinker has never yet steered me wrong. It’s a great flick.

  134. We killed that mother humper!

  135. can’t tell if she’s a faker or not. If she is, she’s damn good
    ——–
Hard to know. They didn’t show if she lost bladder control on the video

  136. I read somewhere that the Jan6 bozos are delaying the last hearing until July because of “new evidence”. Which really means they’re going to go all out to manufacture more evidence in the hopes of making it stick better than it has, drag it out longer to be closer to campaign season as well as provide a big lead up to the show with their broadcast partners in hopes of a bigger audience.

  137. Remember the Tremors TV show? Wasn’t around very long IIRC. I was amused that anti-gun what’s his name played the prepper gun nut in the movie and show. Tv show also had Mr. Kotter’s wife and I hadn’t seen her since Welcome Back Kotter went off the air.

  138. Michael Gross, as I understand it, was a genuine gun nut IRL and the Tremors character was a lot closer to ‘playing himself’. Him playing a dippie liberal on Family Ties was actually him pulling a reverse Archie Bunker for lulz.

  139. OMG I love that Kari Lake! Wow, she thinks on her feet. Had a lot of grace and poise while she told that kid to GTH.

  140. Scott, is the blimp there? I just realized which golf event I was watching. Herp de derp. I know how we feel collectively about Facechimp, but Sean posts pics of the most amazing hikes. Chief Grumpy Butt has a grandson. TiFW posts grand baby pics. Pepe and the Cowboy. Mesa and Owen in Montana.

  141. I just found out that we carry blue cheese slices. Bleu cheese green chile cheeseburgers FTW.

  142. Kari Lake is the FY;NQ politician we could only dream about.

  143. In case it wasn’t mentioned. Today is Clarence Thomas’s birthday.

I didn’t get him anything, but he tied gun control to Jim Crow forever in today’s ruling. What a guy.

  147. No blimp yet.

  148. That’s a shame Pupster. I had a similar feeling about Caligula. The effects of the Jack Daniels shots and hash I smoked before the movie may have been a contributing factor.

  149. Paula’s first photos of her with her grandson include the obligatory mask. One day when the kid is 80 years old he’ll point out how he was born in a stupid time

  150. Cotton candy raccoon makes me cry. I want to give big hugs to Trash Panda.

  151. Rather see masks than read about Jabs.

  152. Something like that, if people still made decent movies.

  153. Heh. FYI blue cheese slices are pretty good. Lots of flavor.

  154. Those actually sound quite tasty!

  155. I just read this thread to my sons:

    https://twitchy.com/samj-3930/2022/06/20/mic-drop-18-year-old-white-male-decimates-white-liberal-female-doctor-tsk-tsking-white-middle-school-boys-for-going-alt-right-in-epic-thread/

Had a good discussion with them afterwards. I never thought I’d have to actually tell my children “there’s nothing wrong with being white, and there’s nothing wrong with being a boy.”

  156. Sam’s Club deli.

  157. No blimp yet. Maybe for the weekend tv coverage

  158. Course looks nice.

  159. I unexpectedly have tomorrow off.
    With pay!
Our office is moving a few blocks away. I had a procedure a month ago and they just said “we got this, you can take the day off”
    Nice surprise

  160. I really want a bug out place, but I don’t trust an empty residence.

  161. Mare’s in jail or rehab, you could go to her house.

  162. Maybe we could buy a compound like Swiss Family Robinson and defend it

  163. I have 4 buildings and 2 basements, is it a compound? I think it’s close if it isn’t.

  164. Leon bait. Dani Elle Spiegle

  165. Oso’s in charge of making the coconut grenades.

  166. Did TTroy go underground? Arrested?

  167. at the end of his show, Tucker handed off to Hannity. He was commenting about Cornyn. Hannity says “Weak Republican!” (most hannity I’ve seen in a while)

Did he forget about his buddy Miss Lindsey voting for it too? really hating Hannity, and Deace is just feeding my anger for him.

  168. yeah, what happened troy? hopefully he’ll pop in

  169. Looks sturdy, Pepe, I approve.

  170. Deafness eroded Roy’s prowess.
