  1. She has very pretty eyes!

  2. Better appreciated without the distraction of the other fantastic finalists

  3. wakey wakey

Lauraw – the restaurant business is like that too. They all want free stuff PLUS. It is enough to make you hate people.

This is true. Although I have no idea who I voted for but she has to be cute, look fun and look like something a Russian Oligarch would pay for. You know, the ones who can afford the good stuff.

  5. heh jimbro. hey man, nice shot

  6. Is Leon aware of this?

    https://thebuttresspillow.com/

WE MUST ALERT HIM IMMEDIATELY !!!

  7. Rare interrogatory-style derp from Sean last night. Nicely executed.

  8. Speech! Speech!

  9. I have never spent more than $30 on a pillow, I have a rule.

Rules are meant to be broken.

  10. The waist to boob ratio is critical.

  11. So the unofficial word is that Demaryius Thomas died from a seizure while in the shower. Apparently he’d been having seizures for about a year. Unstated is why a previously healthy guy in his early 30’s is having new onset seizures. Might be football related after taking multiple hits over many years I suppose.

No idea if any relation to the vaccine is present or not and certainly don’t expect it to be revealed in any way, shape or form either way.

I didn’t realize he was briefly on the Patriots until I saw a tweet of him catching a pass for a TD from Jarret Stidham so it must have been a preseason game.

  12. people buy pillows? They just appear, in my house

  13. I was single between wives and they stopped appearing. I had to buy one. Not since then, though.

  14. oh great, on and on and on about the Patriots. So tiring!

Anyway, have you heard about ISU basketball and football? Shall I go on?

  15. I hate dealing with chiselers. This one guy wants all his packing and shipping money refunded for a large shipment of about twenty items because one thing was chipped (supposedly). Um, no. You get compensated for that one item. That’s fair. Everything else got there okay. You don’t get to opt out of paying the freight for the other nineteen things that arrived safely.
Not to mention, he says this thing is ‘ruined,’ when we know perfectly well, and he knows perfectly well, that this is easily repairable metalwork. He is in that business.
A normal person would not behave this way. They would want their property fixed or replaced (and we would gladly oblige). They wouldn’t be trying to get free freight for a shittonne of other purchases, on top of it.
Can’t tell you how rampant this thing is where people try to get a free hard day’s work off of you. I just came back to this business, and I’m still sick of it. The shysters. Ugh.
I want to go back to dealing with psych patients. They are so much easier.

Laura, I’m right there with you.

We’re dealing with a client right now – while we were tying the new roof of their addition into the existing roof a sudden summer thunderstorm popped up. Some water got into his office, which we immediately took care of. Now he’s scamming his insurance company for “ruined” electronics (which all still work), ruined books (a bunch of out of date soft cover text books he’ll never use again), and refinishing of the hardwood floor (which it needed anyway, and was already in our contract). He’s demanding that we pay his deductible.

I told him no, but rest assured he’ll just subtract it from our final payment.

    Psych patients indeed.

  16. Anyway, have you heard about ISU basketball and football?

This is where I get ALL my Iowa sports news and updates so fire away!

  17. gas prices dropping around here, how abouts the rest of yous?

Guess Brandon finally got his corporate lackeys in oil to wise up, huh? I’m convinced that they are dropping on purpose to hike his numbers, because there is no business reason for them to drop, now. both gas and diesel dropping, so it isn’t refinery switching, and load balancing.

Corporate America = Dems and the left. Last 4 years taught me a lot.

  18. Sometimes Adams is smart, but right now he’s just being a vaccine booster

He’s been bashing “anti vaxxers” lately. Gee Scott, maybe this is because China doesn’t have our standard of living, and isn’t as fat? Maybe that’s why Covid hit us harder?

  19. Or — and I know I’m stretching the bounds of credulity here — China is lying.

  20. Or — and here I’m just rupturing space-time with sheer force of will — our numbers are bullshit.

  21. yeah, the “our numbers are BS” theory sure seems likely. sure, people have died, but people die of flu too, we didn’t depose a president for those strains.

  22. NSFW rant rap

I hate rap, but I like this.

  23. Pfizer CEO is talking about a 4th booster, and some numbnuts in Israel is talking about *7*. Seriously, get bent.

  24. I’m unhealthy as fuck. If it was that omnipresent and that bad, you’d have seen my funeral notice by now, I’d think.

    It’s bullshit, top to bottom.

  25. /hopes he didn’t just jinx himself because life is like that

  26. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34407441/

Nigella sativa (black cumin seed oil) may be an option if you can’t get ivermectin.

  27. Though I see that it also lowers blood pressure, so be aware of that.

  28. when the light bulb comes on

  29. Samson’s mullet gives me hope for the future.

  31. My sister sent out a reminder for the family get together the Sunday before Christmas.

In it she mentioned that we could be in two rooms (I guess for social distancing), and that people could bring their own latex gloves, she would have hand sanitizer.

Guess what I told her to do with the hand sanitizer.

I also said, “If folks don’t feel comfortable all being in the same room, don’t come. I’m done with this bullshit.”

My nieces and nephews responded, “I agree with Uncle Geoff.”

LOL My sister may be a little cold toward me this year.

  32. hahahaha, you go, girl, err, HS!

  33. There was not ONE MINUTE of my life wherein I thought Smollet’s attack was real. Not one minute. Who are these idiot, assholes who would believe such a stupid story?

  34. Fend off the coof and keep my BP lower? Oh hell, that’s probably a good two-fer in my case.

  35. Laura, I’m right there with you.

One time my FIL tried to get my dad to help him scam the power company. Lightning hit close by and blew out the outlets, which in turn fried some of his stereo equipment from the 80s. My dad was talking about it with him and because he happened to have some electrical training from the Navy (about 50 years ago) my FIL wanted him to help him argue it out with Big Florida Power.

My dad, who has the patience of 75 year old man who has lived a good life listed for about 25 mins and just said, ‘no.’

You guys know my FIL is a jerk. He wanted the power company to pay for old ass shit because of a lightning strike. Lightning for allah’s sake.

hahahaha, you go, girl, err, HS!

    —–

    HA! Agree.

I live in a “covid is bullshit and I don’t care one shitball about it” bubble. (yes, I know it exists) If a relative said any of that shit to me I’d say, I”m out, have fun.”

  37. oh, there was a 30 secs where you believed it. Until you found out that is was downtown chicago, MAGA country

  38. Who are these idiot, assholes who would believe such a stupid story?

    They are virtue signaling Karens.

They didn’t believe it either, but it afforded them the platform to spew.

Keep a count of how many retract what they said and call Smollett the cum guzzling fraud that he is.

  39. There have been so many proven hoaxes now that I bet the St0rmfr0nt types have to be gaming out how easily they could get away with the real thing.

  40. oh, there was a 30 secs where you believed it. Until you found out that is was downtown chicago, MAGA country

    ——–

Nope, not for one second. It was stupid. Every word of it.

  41. MJ, good for your dad. He sounds like a stand up guy, and it’s good to hear that he told your asshole FIL to eat a dick.

  42. I think Dave Chappell had the best review of how stupid it was.

  43. day off, rest of today! Yay me!

  44. Can’t decide if Chappelle is an actual racist (leans towards this) or just a comedian pointing out the absurdity. Maybe both, and capitalizing on it.

  45. Now here’s a story I would believe. A gay guy had bathhouse sex with an immigrant Nigerian and convinced him with sex and money that pretending to accost, pour bleach on and hang a noose around my neck in sub zero temps at 2 in the morning would be excellent for my career and therefore your career, whatever that may be, as a Nigerian immigrant.

  46. There comes a time when something so obvious cannot be ignored and you must call out the crazy on people you have previously defended.

Like me and the Bushes and Cheneys. And Paul Ryan. And John McCain.

  47. Oh, and that asshole, POS, Mitt Romney. Almost forgot one of the worst.

  48. Downtown Chicago is full of white dudes, especially on frigid winter nights, carrying nooses and bleach. They wear their MAGA hats so the black thugs and murderers will know to leave them alone.

  49. If I’m remembering right, it was polar vortex weather where everyone was hunkered down

  50. You remember correctly.

  51. How’s the Covid treating you T-roy? Still hunkered down?

  52. Better half seems to be steadily recovering, I’m all over the place but still tested negative. Was able to work mon, tues, wed, and then crashed yesterday with fever, aches, fatigue, no appetite. Sooo kinda hoping this isn’t a “one got over it and its the other ones turn” scenario which would fuck up Christmas and not help at work. But we shall see.

Its wiped us out energy wise, just keeping an eye on O2 saturation to watch for decline. Its like a flu.

  53. Up your supplements Teeroy. May you follow the same path as most people do…one day of shit and by day 3 you feel like you’re pulling out if it.
Either way, now that you have symptoms, get another test, and then make an appointment for some monoclonal antibodies asap. Unless that is illegal in your asshole state. Then you should seek out some horsepaste.

  54. “I’m a bit curious to learn if I am correct in thinking that Heaven will look a lot like Kansas….and to see, like others who have gone before me, if I will still be able to vote in Chicago.”

    LOL Bob Dole

    Suck it, dems.

  55. It is hard to believe I first posted Miss Bartlett in January 2021. As predicted by our occasionally prescient EMJ:

    10/10 would smash

Prediction…she will win BBF of the year.

I was just out of quarantine and back to work when she posted, Good times.

  56. I got my secretae santa gift today, thanks anonymous person!

  57. I also posted this gem in that thread:

  61. How will I know those mushrooms are safe to eat Laura?

  62. Michael Nesmith of the Monkees has passed. 78. Lordy, I had such a crush on him.

I believe that leaves only Micky Dolenz.

  63. Only one Monkee left? Gracious. IIRC Nesmith’s mother invented Liquid Paper and became very wealthy.

  64. Micky Dolenz was my favorite.

  65. Micky went on to do voices, including Arthur in the cartoon “The Tick”.

  66. Interesting, I really liked “The Tick” it was such an oddly funny cartoon. The short-lived live action version was hilarious.

  67. SPOON!

  68. Nice. Tornado sirens going off. Rolla is getting hit with 65mph winds.

  69. I did not know Micky did Arthur.

  71. I liked how Chairface Chippendale tried to carve his name on the moon and they consistently kept “CHA” on the moon for the rest of the series.

  72. Mini-me reports that the Newman community on campus has a Crap Tree, including, for reasons unknown, gravy packets for ornaments.

  73. Jimbro, that first video is good for other people, as well as aspiring military chefs.

Bookmarked for when my attitude needs recalibrating.

When I was in college this last time, the quote I stapled to the wall above my work computer was:

“Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It’s not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it’s a day you’ve had everything to do and you’ve done it.”
    — Margaret Thatcher

I have never been one to post inspirational gewgaws on my walls, that was the first time one of those made enough sense to me to post it; I’ll be damned if that didn’t get me through some real hair-pulling chaotic days.

Your vid “GOOD,” I’ll call it, is exactly the sort of thing I need right now and maybe years on. I know that perspective is correct. Thank you. I’m going to use it a lot.

  74. Big propaganda fanfare about how the government can’t mandate covid vaccines now. Doesn’t help me. State hospital association and individual hospital systems can still do as they will. And they are.

  75. That’s a good quote from Thatcher, Lumpy.

Saw one on facechimp that I liked…
” The world is full of good people. If you can’t find one, be one.”

  76. That sucks, lumpy. They know many of their employees can’t afford a decent lawyer.

  77. Nah, beasn, this state is captured totally by lefties in all areas of law and adjudication. Even if you could find a lawyer that would touch it, it’s a guaranteed loser in every court here. Why bother.

  78. Never say “never”.

But along the same line, we got a notice from the MIL’s memory care. They are requiring all staff to be jabbed, even AFTER our AG successfully sued re: mandates. After all the time that has passed…now they mandate?
Note that most of these places are shortstaffed as it is, ALL inmates are getting their boosters even AFTER most inmates and most staff already had covid.

MIL has never tested positive. One of the very few. But then she’s on some meds that may help ward off that shit.

A pandemic so bad, docs, nurses, and first responders, have to be canned. Meanwhile the jabbed get and spread it and that’s just okey dokey.

  79. Amazon fulfillment center in Illinois collapsed in the line of storms that blew through…(with more coming). There may be 50 to 100 people trapped in the rubble. From the news, I can see one side of the building gone but the lady they were interviewing said the entire other side of the building…it gone.

  80. Geoffrey Fieger is on the way.

  81. Holy cow, beasn.

  82. The system that dropped a tornado in Defiance, small town between Augusta, better known as “wine country”, and where I live (35 min away), is the same one that went on to drop another tornado once it crossed the river into IL, at the Amazon fulfillment center. One death in Defiance…no news yet about any in Edwardsville but there has been a medevac spotted …what are those called…had a friend that worked on one in Corpus Christi…

Local weather guys didn’t like what they were seeing yesterday and knew it was going to be bad this morning when they woke up to fog. Once the storms got going, not much lightening..because winter…just speed and intense wind and in some places shit ton of rain.

  83. It was a portion of the Amazon building that collapsed. Those suckers are HYOOGE!

  84. Dirk efficiently resolved problems.
