MMM 445

After a week away from work, I’m back to on the job today. Pray for Oso.

Squat prep.

She just found the thing her boyfriend loves about her.

Monochrome boxer.

She’s a dirty girl.

These socks lie. Those are pretty good.

I would find this both welcome and deeply distracting in the gym.

Freshly cleaned.

Now, time to see how big the email mountain is.

  5. I’ve noticed the usual condemnation of Israel for responding to missiles fired from Hamas is a little more muted this time around. It’s building now that the IDF is really handing it to them.

And no one is buying the sob story about how they had no idea they were sharing a building with terrorists

Did you… like kill a hooker in a past life or something?

  7. 3700+ were just automated crap

    “X failed on server fghftyt-001-05-a”

    “X recovered on server fghftyt-001-05-a”

400 were informing me of patching and maintenance updates because I’m somehow on every sysadmin mailing list at the customer site.

  8. Covid outbreak among the NY Yankees –

“The staff member who tested positive Saturday is quarantining in Baltimore and — like the previous eight — had been fully vaccinated. The other positive cases remain in quarantine in Tampa.”

    That is no vaccine.

  9. And I would never, ever kill a hooker. Too precious.

    Pimps, though, I might have.

  10. I think Jam2 can be credited with saying, (paraphrase) “Lie your ass off you owe these dipshits NOTHING.”

  11. Someone forgot to turn down the cycle threshold in NY.

Also, were there symptoms, or just testing the well and then labeling them sick?

  12. Me and mare and jam are simpatico.

I’ve always thought it important to be honest and to only deal with other people who were honest. That was back when society seemed functional to me.

  13. When I said it I’m a crazy conspiracy nut.

There is no vaccine, it only mitigates symptoms.

So what if Yankees get COVID? What they never report is this, yes they tested positive but they would never know they had it if they weren’t forced into testing constantly.

    Positive Test: Yes
    Impact on your life: None

  14. I think so many of us are simpatico.

It’s why I hang out at this dump.

It’s comforting to know there are others out there who feel like they are taking crazy pills when they hear the news.

  15. Also, were there symptoms, or just testing the well and then labeling them sick?

    ——

    See? Simpatico.

  16. I have never in my life before seen a vaccine that didn’t, y’know, vaccinate.

This entire clusterfuck is bullshit from first to last.

  17. A few years back and between wives I was worried about STDs and went down the rabbit hole reading about testing for such things, recovery/clearance, etc.

One of the things that came up while reading AIDS skeptics was that the PCR test consistently finds that some non-zero percentage of the African American population enlisting in the US military tests “positive” without any symptoms and in some cases without ever even having had sex. This is mainstream science and the reason the PCR test for HIV is always round 1 but never the only test for a positive diagnosis.

But it’s the only test for WuFlu, and it carries much heavier penalties than HIV+ ever has or will.

  18. You know what should happen to pimps? What John Kelly did in the original Without Remorse, in Nawlins.

Not the recent attempt to branch out to new audiences, sacrificing one of the greatest characters in military novel history.

  19. DIL and I kinda got into it last night. She thinks that you will have to show your vaccination card in order to travel, eat out, see a movie, etc. I have more hope for America than that. Maybe pockets of that bullshit but overall, no. The nice thing is that neither she nor Rocketboy have gotten the shot. Not sure if it’s laziness or “wait and see” or what, but the longer they put it off, the better chance of them never getting it.

Mini-me’s boyfriend’s mother insisted that he get the shot, and he was so wiped out yesterday, he could barely move.

  20. I agree with DIL, soon you will have to show your card, and Buyden’s admin will allow private businesses to do that. After all, it’s a private business, and they can do what they want.

Bake the cake, bigot, except left wing now, so never mind.

  21. I’ll wait for the dust to settle on the vaccine.

From what I’ve read an employer can ask for proof of vaccination. So can any business.

  22. I dunno, though. I was absolutely certain that grocery stores, starbucks, etc would never be out of the mask but they are here in GA.

Well, not starbucks. But grocery stores are no mask unless you haven’t been vaccinated.

The creepiness of ‘get the vaccine if you don’t want to wear a mask’ is, well, creepy.

Seeing faces again has been a pure joy.

  23. I haven’t ventured out into the world. Supposedly the mandate has been dropped for the two Indiana counties I visit regularly, but I haven’t tried yet.

I’m sure Michigan is still completely broken, but the wife says Tractor Supply is and has been Done With This Shit for a while.

  24. I haven’t been wearing a mask basically anywhere for a while. Yesterday I saw a few others do the same at the grocery store.

The mask mandates are coming down because everyone is done with it.

  25. I only mask sporadically. Now that mandates are done I carry one “just in case” but honestly, I’m done bothering.

Haven’t got the shot. Not planning on it either. Too many red flags.

Odd thing this morning. Got to work, was fiddling around in my vehicle when suddenly…

    tap tap tap

I look and there’s this bright red cardinal pecking at my rear window. Did it a few times. Then it flew around and did it on the front windscreen.

    LOOKING RIGHT AT ME.

There is no way it couldn’t tell I was making eye contact with it.

It’s bizarre. It can’t have been trying to get to something. It’s like it was trying to get my attention or something. It flew off when I got out of the car to investigate. No clue.

Except…cardinals were my mom’s favorite. And her birthday is two weeks away.

Wonder if she’s trying to tell me something…

  26. I have essentially become housebound and used to it. I’m not sure how to go back into the world anymore. I go to parks and get my groceries and lumber at the curb.

  27. Also RE the middle east:

Don’t care. Kill em all and let the magic horse riding pedophile sort em out.

  28. We had a cardinal here that picked repeated fights with the passenger-side mirror of the Tundra while crapping on the door.

  29. the people around here are very vocal if you don’t wear a mask in the grocery store. Since I am in an enclosed space I cannot easily ignore them and walk on, so I just wear it to avoid conflict. It makes me angry, and i don’t want to cause a scene, because the ones confronting you are the most ignorant about it. I wish I could ignore it, but I find myself unable to keep my tongue in check now. It’s easier to just mask and avoid it. I know it makes me a complier, but at this point it’s just easier to avoid the idiots.

  30. I have to disagree though: it wasn’t the Kung Flu hysteria that did the damage. The damage was done in the decades previously, when these folks were raised in a culture stripped of the institutions and rituals which could provide comfort and stability. They were raised to believe in a false religion of scientism, in the ultimate triumph of reason, in their inherent superiority due to their ability to perform well on certain tests, due to their ability to display certain class markers, etc.

  31. I mean, sure, it may have seen its reflection and thought it was pecking at another bird, but…

I was looking. Right. At it. And it didn’t seem to bother it.

    Weird.

  32. This is the age if the failure of Reason.

  33. I thought it was the Age of Aquarius.

  34. It’s epistemological. Reason can only triumph in a universe that is itself reasonable. Post-modernism says explicitly that nothing is objective, all truths are relative. Without objective truth, reason is groundless, nothing can be assumed, and so each phenomenon can only be understood — if at all — in a reductionist, narrow sense, and no broader “laws” can be discerned.

Asswipes like Neil Tyson assassinated Reason.

  35. Big-R “Reason” was always a joke. It cut out the spiritual and pretended emotion wasn’t a factor. It failed to understand how the former moderated and channeled the latter and thus became vulnerable to the worst aspects of human nature.

Honestly, the World Wars should have killed it dead, if not for America standing unscathed as the heir to the mantle of Reason. Instead the rot just took a while longer to do its magic.

  36. Reason properly understood as a gift from the almighty and worthwhile because Man is Imago Dei and a God who made Man thus would also have made a reasonable universe is perfectly sensible. Putting reason above the God who made it is one of those literally satanic inversions that Luciferian types do without breaking a stride.

  37. Breaking a sweat, sorry, my hands ran faster than my brain and mixed my metaphors.

  38. That’s “Reason” vs. reason. Which actually kinda makes the point better than I can, really.

If you want my final word, the little voice that reinforced my depression all these decades dressed itself up as “reason”. That’s all you need to know about “reason”.

  39. Seeing faces again has been a pure joy.

There are numerous faces I would prefer to not see again. They’re mostly liberal women, which means they’ll just keep wearing the mask, so – problem solved.

Also this pertains to certain liberal men, but they’re just women anyway, so I stand by my first comment.

  40. Without Remorse was a great book. I’m not at all interested in watching the television show.

  41. I sorta love that people can’t give up the mask.

A few months ago they were screaming to follow the science but now they can’t give up their woobie. The magic talisman.

    It’s all so silly.

  42. meetings until 4, oh joy

  43. meetings until 4, oh joy

Must have killed a hooker in a past life.

  44. I think they screwed up saying you don’t have to wear masks if you’re vaccinated, if their goal is a vaccine passport .

Lots of people out and about without masks, Texas has zero deaths, this after pics of huge crowds without masks and the vaccination market is waning. The horse is out of the barn running free.

  45. The horse is out of the barn running free.

Shake a scoop with grain in it. They’ll come back.

  46. Tom Clancy’s without remorse right?

I couldn’t finish the Prime movie. It was a gigantic garbage ball.

  47. Huh, my husband just wondered out loud whether or not the stupid masses would re mask if told you.

    I think yes.

    So shaking the feed scoop.

  48. If they really want me vaccinated, they can pay me.

    $100,000 is my starting price.

  49. So you’re a whore and now we’re just dickering over price?

  50. Here, in the Peoples Republic of Washington, Emperor Inslee has threatened to shut businesses that allow customers unmasked. He’s following “The Science and Data”, he lied…

  51. Your mom opens her stable for any and all horses running free

  52. So, I’ve been going to crossfit since … June I think? W/o a mask. I wore them at the store when people were CRAZY, but i’ve stopped since biden made his announcement.

I’M NOT PLAYING YOUR GAME ANYMORE.

It’s all so very fucking stupid. conservative squish on the radio said we should wear our woobies so that OTHERS feel comfortable. Fuck that. The way they dress up up the argument is infuriating.

I’m reading the Erik Larson book “The Splendid and the vile” – it’s about Churchill. So far it’s great.

  53. I’m reading As I Lay Dying. I’ve never read a Faulkner book i didn’t like.

  54. I’m so against the “do this to make people FEEL something “

    Utter ridiculous bullshit.

IDFAF if you feel safe and if I don’t know you I don’t particularly care about what happens to you. Sane people can’t always do things to make everyone feel better. And sane people don’t care about every persons health. No. If you do you’re lying.

My freedom is more important than your safety.

Get that through your leftist skulls.

  55. How do people like working remotely? I know I liked it when I finally jumped in. Does anyone have requirements that they have to go in periodically? might have an opportunity to move, but I’m not interested in changing jobs, so this would require remote work most of the time, but it would be possible to come in periodically (2+ hours away, one way, right now I’m 30 mins away). Any tips on what to ask about, while exploring this?

This would be to move back to hometown, to my aunt’s house that my brother very capably built for them. I own half, and could possibly buy out the other half. Mom, and one brother live in the area, and this is where I’d like to go after retiring, because that community isn’t nuts.

  56. I am not responsible for the feelings of others. Hell, I have a hard enough time wrangling my own into submission.

  57. It’s all so very fucking stupid. conservative squish on the radio said we should wear our woobies so that OTHERS feel comfortable.

I don’t want them to feel comfortable. I want them so scared they run away to another country more like what they want this one to be. North Korea, perhaps.

  58. exactly, brotim and leon

  59. aww, I was hoping he was gone.

On Friday night, CNN Tonight anchor Don Lemon announced that “this will be the last night” of the show he has hosted since 2014.

    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/tyler-o-neil/2021/05/15/don-lemon-anchors-his-last-show-at-cnn-n1447185

sounds like a change in name

  60. How do people like working remotely? I know I liked it when I finally jumped in. Does anyone have requirements that they have to go in periodically?

I’ve been doing it since 2013 with the exception of the year at Ford. I used to have to show up down there once a quarter or so for 3-4 days, but they burnt up the travel budget and then WuFlu hit and no one has had to show up for over a year already. I don’t think I’ll have to go this year at all other than my PIV card update in October at this point. I couldn’t go back to shared office at this point, at least not on a daily basis. Too restrictive and bad for productivity.

  61. Work from home is ok, but I’ve found there needs to be stuff to actually work on or I start to go a bit stir crazy. I suspect it would help if I was living somewhere I could actually go dancing or otherwise get out of the house on weekends, or had space for a small workshop.

  62. just how rich IS Whitmer?

    https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/2021/05/17/whitmer-florida-charter-flight/5125951001/

FAA: Company that flew Whitmer to Florida not authorized to operate charter flights

  63. That said, it was definitely easier before Possum was so talkative.

  64. I really adjusted to remote work, and hated it when I had to go back in.

Was just wondering what in-office attendance requirements were out there, and if there were any pitfalls to watch out for.

  65. That’s because she didn’t pay for it . It was a gift. They’re trying to cover for what happened, because it’s a violation.

  66. I switched job during the Ching Chong Chunky Lung AIDS, but my current job was apparently 3 days telework, 2 days in the office prior to the shutdowns. The division chief is trying to get the whole thing switched to full-time telework permanently, but last I’d heard was a rumor that they’d want one day in the office per week. That would be the stupidest possible COA, so of course there’s a risk that the government will pick it.

  67. I could deal with 1 day a week, 2 days occasionally. 5 hours a day in the car would get really old really quick.

  68. Was just wondering what in-office attendance requirements were out there, and if there were any pitfalls to watch out for.

Pitfalls: if the rest of the team is in the office with no option for remote work, you will be the oddball/exception, and you’ll be treated differently. They can’t see you, only the work, so you will have to deliver consistently and document the heck out of everything you do. In spite of all this, your chance of promotion is going to be less, at least in my experience.

If most or all of the team is remote, most of those go away.

  69. hell, we don’t talk in the office now. This would just be the same thing with a more comfortable chair and my lunch would be right upstairs. more availability, and I pointed that out in my pitch email to the supers.

  70. They can’t see you, only the work, so you will have to deliver consistently and document the heck out of everything you do. In spite of all this, your chance of promotion is going to be less, at least in my experience.

So, another day that ends in Y?

  71. I think people on the left tend to make population level assessments which also include stupidity like ‘making people feel safe’.

The right tends to think at the individual level.

    And they’re cunts.

  72. The lefties, of course.

  73. I actually read through the Whitmer travel to FL stories.

It’s brilliant. Politicians set up 501C4 charities, businesses donate to them, then they use the funds for whatever they feel like.

    It’s legal bribery.

Things were probably better when the bribery was in the open. Certainly less complicated.

  74. Envelope full of twenties discreetly handed to the bagman

  75. An activist PBS reporter just implied that the CDC’s new guidance – that masks are not necessary for vaccinated people – is racist.
    Yamiche is a treasure.
    ——————-
She’s not wrong. All people who are on the right side of history should wear a mask. If you believe in systemic racism and that it hurts black and brown bodies you should mask up.

  76. I should set up a non-profit “Learning Farm” here that takes donations for “sustainability research” and the like and use the money to buy a tractor and fencing.

  77. There are so many scams. I can’t remember if I told you this or not but a candidate I interviewed for a job is very impressively listed as the founder of a charity.

Turns out they collect money to award grants to black kids with high student loan debt.

They’ve been collecting since 2018 and have awarded ZERO scholarships.

Seems like maybe she’s collecting money for her student debt. Just sayin.

  78. When racism and charity intersect, that is the usual outcome. She probably learned how it’s done from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. Although that BLM chick is no piker in the grifter business.

  79. Seems like maybe she’s collecting money for her student debt. Just sayin.

I assume you hired her on the spot.

  80. Or gave her an in kind donation.

  81. Yamiche is an androgynous cum guzzling racist whore.

  82. I assume you hired her on the spot.
    ——————–
She was perhaps the worst interview of my life.

Ironically, the only reason she’s employed anywhere is because of her skin color.

Yamiche is an androgynous cum guzzling racist whore.

    Mare loves Hotspur.

  84. CoAlex, do the Spotted Toad quotes translate to “we sent everybody home, now we’ll see if any of these college students get married and have families or if we broke the supply chain.”

  85. … the only reason she’s employed anywhere is because of her …
    ————-
There was a resident in St Louis who fit that description. I never crossed paths with her but the residents used to talk about her in hushed tones enough for me to figure out what was going on. The chairman was old school and couldn’t bear to pass her on to inflict harm in the future with the name of his program on her. So the lawsuit happened and was still going on when I left.

  86. Roamy,

He’s saying, that modern progressivism relied on urban areas full of twenty-something white-collar single professionals to propagate itself. By pushing lockdowns, WFH, neverending unemployment, and riots, they’ve destroyed those areas. They burned down the village, so-to-speak, all in the service of defeating Orangemanbad. The question is whether they will be able to recover, or if they will discover that these young adults, spread out and out of work, are no longer receptive to the standard progressive tactics.

  87. They don’t care. This is how a virus works–it latches onto a cell, turns it into a virus factory, then the cell dies and releases its progeny to move on and repeat the cycle.

The cities die, the prog-locusts move on to repeat the pattern elsewhere. It’s how they break down the firewalls.

  88. The key point, of course, is whether the young folk realize that the city died because of the things they were taught were the way things should be. If they make that connection, the jig is up. If they don’t, well, the cycle repeats.

  89. CoAlex, I figure the “having children is bad for the planet” is also cutting off the future supply of progressives. Nearly all the libs I know have no children or one child.

  90. I really need to change jobs. I was away for a week and felt pretty decent. One day back on the clock and I had the idle thought that God might be allowing Creation to remain broken by Original Sin as an ongoing punishment for Adam and Eve rejecting Him.

  91. As I Lay Dying is one of my faves.

  92. it’s not the job, man

go swing your screaming laughing kid around the room and feel better

  93. I’m getting the J&J, so I no longer have to wear a mask. Most of my CoWs that have had the Rona and the vaccine, want to wear their masks. Members started showing up maskless on Saturday. I’m getting my $75 and taking my 3 days paid for side effects. My side effect? 3 days paid.

  94. Well, it’s partly the job, partly existential crisis.

    But mostly the job.

  95. I’m jealous.
