MMM 443

Welcome back. The week begins, and fresh hell will be upon us any moment. Hope your coffee is hot and your socks are clean.

Redhead bonus points.

Does volleyball even still happen in this country?

Pupster makes a cameo.

Again, I wonder if there is still volloeyball.

Talents on display.

2008 seems like forever ago.

And the week is upon us like an angry bear.

  1. Not being able to sort the media folder in reverse order is a deliberate failure of design.

  2. Individual investors are holding more stocks than ever before as major indexes climb to fresh highs. They are also upping the ante by borrowing to magnify their bets or increasingly buying on small dips in the market.”

There’s no way that this could go horribly wrong.

  3. When you show a volleyball pick I always check to make sure it’s not one of my daughters.

  4. Need to repeat this, a lot:

I saw something linked from Twitter and we need to push this:

I’m not anti-mask, you’re a masker. Me not wearing a mask is normal. You wearing a mask is not.

  5. GA is now no mask. Corporate places and schools still have masks and probably always will but other locations don’t.

We went out to dinner last night and it was so nice to see everyone’s face.

  6. “”Then I decided maybe he has the goal of pissing on all 50 states.””

    Haaaaahaaaaaaaa!
    That’s an admirable plan.

  7. Wife was in Kokomo for drill this weekend and says it’s normal there except on base.

Not this Kokomo. More corn, less bikinis.

  8. I’d seen vb girl picture somewhere before. I know this need not be mentioned but I feel compelled to mention it anyway.

That is one of the more magnificent hineys you’ll ever see.

  9. goal of pissing on all 50 states
    —————
I’ll need to do an inventory. I’m probably close to 2/3.

  10. wakey

  11. One of most magnificent pisses was off of the Bourne Bridge. Anyone who has ever been on Cape Cod has traveled over either the Bourne or Sagamore Bridges. One night we were coming back from some escapade on the Cape and despite not NEEDING to pee I was inspired by some delusion of grandeur to call for the car to stop, pile out and pee off the highest point of the bridge into the Cape Cod Canal.

  12. Local Walmarts still “require” masks. I say “require” because last time I went to one half the people weren’t masked and nobody gave anyone grief for it. I took mine off.

Sanity may be starting to make its way back, at least in some places.

  13. I wonder if we’ll devolve into places that are mask or no mask.

There’s social pressure too. The volunteer school board would only allow vaccinated people to help kids with a teacher appreciation thing this week.

All of the Bevins and Tristans had to make sure everyone knew they were vaccinated and would be masked!

  14. volleyball indeed exists, in the midwest. Big 12 has lots of teams in the top 20 in women’s volleyball, and Grandview in DSM won the Div 3 national title in Men’s volleyball.

  15. My Florida family is all over themselves that I have covid. It started a flurry of “I’ve been vaccinated” posts on facebook. I’m trying to ignore it, but since I’m stuck at home I don’t expect I’m going to be able to hold out.

  16. that happened to me at a Fleet Farm (wal mart for farmers in the northern Midwest). Masks required, but no one wearing them inside. So neither am I. This was in Ankeny (suburb of DSM, quite large now) so there is hope, because large suburbs are the Karen’s natural habitat.

  17. to be fair, we don’t really know if you have covid.

  18. Hell, for all most of you know I’m a dolphin brain in a jar wired to the Internet.

  19. If I don’t have it, then it is the world’s biggest coincidence. Pat tested positive, and I’m not getting tested because I’m not going to be questioned by the state. I’m just not. I’ve been napping every day and I never do that.

I’m still dragging, and I hope this goes away soon. The headache comes and goes but mostly just no energy. Ian also tested positive – a few days before Pat did.

I was bragging at first when Pat got a positive that I had a better immune system. But then last Monday I couldn’t deny that I felt like warmed over shit.

  20. I’m still uncertain as to whether or not someone or an organization can ask if you’ve been vaccinated.

HIPPA is pretty vague about it. It’s sort of like, sure, all of your info can be shared if there’s a flu outbreak. You know, for the public good.

  21. I felt pretty shitty Friday afternoon, and slept a lot after work. Feel lots better now, but was dragging when going the 4 floors to work today.

  22. I still stand by my prediction that when the dust settles all of the angst, misery, and pain will be for naught. At least from a statistical perspective.

Same for global warming. The trillions of dollars poured into it, the fear, anxiety and death will have done exactly nothing.

Nature’s gonna nature. We’re just not that significant.

  23. J’ames – it’s not just tired. I had a dry cough. Look if I thought there was any chance I didn’t have it, I would have taken the test. I’ve been sitting in my house for a week now -hating life. Pat, Doug (bil who works for us), Ian, my nephew, my other nephew (who was visiting my house and possibly the original patient X), a driver at the shop. So I guess despite them all having positives, I could just feel like crap for no reason?

  24. GND and I were pretty flattened by something. She tested negative. I didn’t bother.

I don’t think it was covid – more like a bad cold.

  25. Again, I wonder if there is still volloeyball.

No, but there are still bolt-ons.

  26. One night we were coming back from some escapade on the Cape

Went out to Provincetown, did ya?

  27. If I was following the guidelines anyway – 1) are you sick and 2) have you been exposed … based on that I was “supposed” to quarantine.

I mean, i’m a SERVER. Literally maybe one of the last people you want around you with covid.

Being exposed from my husband is probably the most exposed I could be?

  28. P-town is a dangerous place to take a leak on the Cape

  29. If I don’t have it, then it is the world’s biggest coincidence. Pat tested positive, and I’m not getting tested because I’m not going to be questioned by the state. I’m just not. I’ve been napping every day and I never do that.

It might be prostate cancer. You better get checked.

  30. all of the angst, misery, and pain will be for naught
    ————–
    Totes agree

  31. It’s not for naught.

It’s a narrative pretext for globe-spanning totalitarianism with willing supplicants and cultists.

    #staysafe!
    #yourmaskprotectsme!

  32. Or, a tumor

  33. It might be the heartbreak of psoriasis.

  35. Wait a minute, MJ, you’re waiting “for all the dust to settle “ before understanding this was a scam. Is. Covid real? Yes. Is it worse than a bad flu season? No. The numbers already tell us this. The “vaccine” is a money grab, compliance test, and hearing about women’s menstrual cycles getting screwed up makes me wonder about purposeful fertility issues.

  36. If we hadn’t locked down, masked and social distanced we would have been through this in a couple months with the same amount of people dead.

  37. I want to know specifically how much we were lied to. How is it possible we heard so many walking dead stories, when for the VAST majority it’s an inconvenience?

And I’m supposed to care about the one-off young person who actually gets really sick, but not the young person damaged by the vaccine?

  38. “”I’m still uncertain as to whether or not someone or an organization can ask if you’ve been vaccinated. “”

They can go piss up a rope IMO.

But the current / upcoming chicom directorate that’s taken over the US will do as autocrats always do.

  39. And I will flat out lie to their faces.
    I owe them nothing.
I wouldn’t even give them the steam off my shit.

  40. i have been vaccinated now. By the virus.

  41. The CDC has assured me that natural immunity is a myth.

  42. Wait a minute, MJ, you’re waiting “for all the dust to settle “ before understanding this was a scam. Is. Covid real? Yes. Is it worse than a bad flu season? ————————-
I’m with you. I think it’s a hugely overblown thing that was used by a variety of interests. Big business squashed small business. The dems stole an election, social media/corporate media flourished gained preeminence, and healthcare was nudged closer to full government control.

    Everyone who could, grabbed power.

But I want to wait until it’s over to compare data trends. Pre v during v post covid. There’s so much bullshit. It’ll take time to sort out.

  43. I have no doubt that you’ll find a higher death rate. Despair kills, and simply believing that what you have is a deadly disease makes it more likely to kill you.

  44. the steam off my shit.

    Andddd….a new category is borned.

  45. Carin, I got a question for ya.

My friend and his wife ate out at a semi fancy restaurant this past weekend. His wife was complaining that most of the customers were wearing wife beaters, cargo shorts, flip flops and sporting bad haircuts and lots of tats. She asked the waitress why their clientele had changed so much and the waitress said people are splurging their porkulous Checks by eating at places they ordinarily can’t afford.

Are you seeing much of that?

  46. Yes. It’s horrible.

  47. It also happens in tax check season. People in the business hate it.

  48. A generation ago even “low-class” folks would have known to dress up for a nice dinner out. Now people wear yoga pants and sweaters to church, throw on a ratty t-shirt when they testify in court, and generally dress like slobs.

  49. Yoga pants at church is the worst. Really, really hard to focus on the Nicene Creed when there’s a perfect hiney showcased a few rows ahead of you.

Not going to mass for over a year has at least let me avoid those pesky distractions.

  50. The ones I’ve seen haven’t been that nice.

  51. Oh, man, I’m dying, Floyd’s balls:

  54. Leon, I went to mass on Saturday. A couple walked in and the woman was wearing a thin, clingy, knit dress. And I was embarrassed for her. She sat a few rows ahead of me and you could see she was wearing a thong, had cellulite, and did not work out. I was distracted.

  55. Same for global warming. The trillions of dollars poured into it, the fear, anxiety and death will have done exactly nothing.

    ———

Absolutely. Its an effing money grab.

  56. all most of you know I’m a dolphin brain in a jar wired to the Internet.

    You’re not?

  57. Heh:

“When someone opined, “It should be noted that the Philippines has very much swung back towards the United States since Biden come to office,” Locsin fired back, “Nah, What did that was Trump, his strong foreign policy and his shared affection for Duterte and my deep liking for and implicit trust in Mike Pompeo.”

  58. The Jesse Kelly quote I posted it something I’ve been struggling to put into words for a while.

I assume he is addressing not me. Perhaps I am misunderstanding, but I never had the power to allow or deny the takeover of anything.

  59. Everyone who had the power to stop it either went along with it or had their children threatened until they went along with it.

  60. He’s addressing the conservative political class, and the commentariat, consultants, etc. who created this mess by refusing to actually advance proactive conservative policies.

  61. The GOP establishment bought into the libertarian notion of equivalence: that if the left is pushing policy X, then the right pushing policy Y makes them morally the same. If the left pushes exposing young children to drag queens and transgenderist propaganda, and the right’s response is, “do what you want, just leave me alone,” The result is that the left will eventually win, even if it’s incrementally.

If you want to get to “leave me alone” you have to push back hard in the opposite direction of the left, so that they agree to “leave me alone” as a compromise.

  62. Mike Pompeo, in my opinion, was an exceptional SOS. Possiythe best.

    Abraham Accords???
    North Korea??

    To name only 2.

  63. Obviously I’m commenting from my phone.

    Yikes.

  64. He’s addressing the conservative political class, and the commentariat, consultants, etc. who created this mess by refusing to actually advance proactive conservative policies.

and who went along with stolen elections (plural).

  65. John Jakes should be in the senate right now.

  66. The death of corporate media is probably a good thing for the left.

They’ve basically smuggled politics into entertainment, social media, and work. It’s better disguised there, frankly.

  67. I’ll never quite understand how 2016 was stolen because Trump was a secret KGB spy that was incognito for decades and had a pee fetish but anyone who thinks 2020 was stolen using the pandemic as cover is a nut job.

  68. Yes you will. And you do.

  69. because OMB

don’t forget that a germophobe who doesn’t shake hands a lot was paying for hookers to pee on him.

  70. 2016 *had* to be stolen because the march of progressivism is inevitable and there’s no way that they could possibly lose.

  71. When are michigan’s SOS offices reopening? How about never?

Current timeline to get an appointment – just checked – July 21st.

  72. Cuomo the Less is accusing those who don’t get the vaccine of “Killing Grandma”

There’s not even a Yiddish word for this.

  73. Benson has achieved the impossible. She actually made the SoS office worse.

I figure by December they’ll let me renew by mail if I upload a photograph.

  74. Cuomo the Less is accusing those who don’t get the vaccine of “Killing Grandma”

Even Meghan McCain was saying, quit saying you hillbillies are killing us all, it sounds psychotic. When she starts making sense, you know things are effed up.

  75. Nice work, Jocelyn. Make the system so fucked up that you will be justified in saying black people are too stupid to get an ID. (Of course white people will be too stupid too.)

  76. Justification for no-ID voting when she’s up in ’22.

  77. Wait, Ronna McDaniel is a Romney? How did I not know this? Get rid of that!

  78. Jay, back when Mittens still had his “I’m totally a rightwinger” mask on, she was billed as “Ronna Romney-McDaniel”.

  79. GOP rid us of Bushes and Romneys!

  80. And McCains.

  81. The Widow McCain is very angry about the Maricopa County ballots audit. Because there was no fraud, y’all.

Also, she’s tired of people criticizing Hunter, because of her own past addiction.

    So there you have it.

    AOS is a treasure today

  87. Quayle – don’t really know what became of him.
    Cornyn and Corker – agree.
Gowdy – so far he seems to be keeping a low profile. I haven’t seen anything that would gain him membership in the Asshole Club.

  88. Cheney
    Kinzinger
    McConnell
    McCarthy
    Collins
    Murkowski

He let them off the hook, in the judiciary. He’s one of the worst.

  90. So what was the result of the AZ audit.

Lemme guess. Nothing to see here.

  91. still going on

  92. Gowdy talked like Ace with an accent then washed his hands and saw no evil. Again, and again.

Bill and Melinda Gates are divorcing. Couldn’t happen to a bigger asshole.

  93. She was probably a lousy fuck anyway. He’s probably a queer.

  94. I’d say we’re maybe a week away from a sudden wiring mishap and electrical fire in AZ.

  95. Graham

    Remember Scott Brown?

    Rubio

  96. Let’s preemptively begin a game of “Let’s guess Bill’s girlfriend’s age”

  97. Wow. Whatever happened to:

    Scott Walker

    Bobby Jindal

    Rick Perry

    Rick Santorum

  98. Are you surprised that Bill and Melinda Gates will be ending their marriage?

    O Yes, I am

    O Somewhat

    O No, I am not

    O Other / No opinion

    O Cock (Mares Poll)

  99. I trusted at least part of the GOP once. That fact disgusts me.

I cannot forgive the lies and betrayals. May all turn to ash in their mouth and poison in their gut.

  100. Bobby Jindal and Rick Santorum were both actual, practicing Catholics. They had to be run out of public life. Only CINOs are allowed by the uniparty*.

Walker and Perry were effective, so they were sidelined and undermined.

*or the Freemasons, but that’s krazy konspiracy talk, and we all know those are all just hooey

  101. To paraphrase my good friend Dave-in-Texas, “Every Politician is going to let you down, eventually.” (I think he was talking about Perry after he couldn’t remember all 3 bullet-points of his 3 point plan to save America.)

  102. Didn’t Perry Keep his head down and run the Dept of Energy for most of Trump’s Administration?

  103. He seemed to, and he’s been extremely quiet since then.

Walker, I think, got dismantled by lawfare in Wisconsin.

  104. Walker hit his term limits and I think he’s probably burned out.

  105. Really nice lineup today Mr. Caruthers, thank you.

  106. Did I tell you guys I got one of those robot litter things?

It is literally the best thing ever. It took the cats a few weeks, but now …

    amazing.

I may need a second one – I have one cat that lives upstairs. She’s the pickiest , but the basement has two cats so that is where the litter robot went.

I for one welcome our new robot overlords.

  111. I got this one. I bought a “refurbished” one and save $150 I think- they appear pretty often on the site? It’s pricey but it’s amazing, and you can use whatever littler (clumping) that you want. It is completely worth it. I did NOT get the one that connects to your phone – I mean, WHY?

I don’t think you are allowed to say it anymore.

  136. There is a pic of the Bidens visiting Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. It’s showing the two realities in this country, one where adoring lefties say how awesome, wonderful, and sweet the photo is, and the rest of us, who say it’s creepy AF, looks photoshopped, and that the Carters look like wax figures.
