The Shaggs-Best..Band..EVAHR!!

This week’s musical journey take us back to the little town of Fremont, New Hampshire, circa 1968. Actually, I don’t even know if Fremont is little or not, it just sounded better when I typed it out.
They actually have an interesting story. The girls were homeschooled because their dad wanted them to spend most of their time working on their music thanks to their good ole, fortune telling grandma who predicted they’d form a popular music group. I think I get such a kick out of this album because they’re kids, they’re innocent, and it’s totally better than anything I can do. I may have purchased this LP for Merv one year on his birthday.

Also, here’s some memes…

Happy Thursday!! May your day kick butt!!

  1. PJ,

It may be time to see a mental health professional, or an audiologist.

  2. This is one of Maynard’s side projects, isn’t it?

  3. So apparently AT&Ts Lilly is a leftwing sociopathic whore who murdered her own child. Damn shame…

  4. Now so long, MaryAnn
It’s time that we began to derp
And cry and cry and derp about it all again

  5. RE HS pedo:

    1/10 would smash

  6. Ah, Fremont, NH, site of the Mast Tree Riot!

  7. Teresa, just a heads up (you assholes never change, no really, don’t change) you have to have reservations at any Disney Park. And make reservations for any restaurants you wish to go to.

  8. wakey wakey

  9. CoAlex – call your dad.

That’s all I’m going to say about that.

  10. Ha! Love that video, Carin.

  11. I thought it was pretty funny.

  12. Harris’ plastic surgery finally settled in. Still ugly af.

  13. First

  14. Do we think Kamala will blow it for Joe today?

  15. That video is hilarious!

  16. I like your avatar, MJ. Is that a blowtorch? Nice!

  17. I don’t see how running part black Hillary is a good idea.

People can sense disingenuousness a mile away.

  18. Yep. Blowtorch.

  19. So people actually click on links in PJM?

    Y’all crazy.

  20. I don’t see how running part black Hillary is a good idea.

People can sense disingenuousness a mile away.

They had no other options. Creepy Uncle Joe and the Urban Radicals have boxed them in.

  21. I read somewhere that Biden pulled over half of his ad spending on FB because he wasn’t getting traction with young people.

Um, there are no young people on FB. If his campaign doesn’t know that, he’s in real trouble.

Imagine Chris Dodd, 6 scotches into lunch, trying to figure out how to spend a few hundred million dollars to reach voters in the internet age.

  22. Carmella is gonna make Tik-Tok videos dancing to Cardi B and it will be peak 2020.

  23. The Kamala pick suggests someone wants her taken out, not taken up. That or these people really believe their own bullshit.

  24. Honestly? Their better candidates got forced out by the demands of the lunatic fringe that passes for their base.

That’s the punchline–in a world where either party was actually acting in the interests of their voters Trump wouldn’t even be in politics. But they aren’t, and here we are. Think of him as the body politic’s organic reaction to a massive infection and you’re not far wrong at all.

  25. Urban radicals hate Kamala.

  26. They boxed Joe in. He couldn’t select a more moderate choice, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the escalating violence led the campaign to pick a “law and order” candidate.

  27. It’s still up to Joe. And he’s a fucking imbecile.

  28. Joe is not calling the shots anymore. He might be picking OJ or coffee in the morning, but that’s the size of it.

  29. HotBride didn’t really know who Harris was. When I mentioned my foregone conclusion that she would be the choice which I deduced from her recent facelift, HotBride checked her before and after photos.

She correctly deduced that Harris purposely made herself look more “black” so she could fit the role.

Does she get a pass on cultural appropriation because of her straightened brown hair?

  30. She’s an Indian/Carribean hobag married to a white guy.

Again, I’m blacker than she is.

  31. The Dems are weird when you think about it. Going on about “authentically black” and then having so little confidence in “authentically black” candidates they go with “sorta black” and try to make ’em look, well, “blacker”. Speaks volumes regarding their attitudes. Probably also about their talent pool.

  32. Wokeness has overshot the goal by a mile. When you have a growing part of the white population that truly does not give a shit about race and judges people individually, by their behavior- which we now have- and then you prattle on about how colorblindness isn’t the goal, we *want* race-consciousness; you’ve basically finally found a bunch of unicorns and then shot them all. It’s beyond idiotic. As they say, “it’s not just wrong, it’s a mistake.”

  33. Acting like a hostile embedded tribe when outnumbered 10-1 seems like a shitty plan.

  34. Going on about “authentically black” and then having so little confidence in “authentically black” candidates they go with “sorta black” and try to make ’em look, well, “blacker”. Speaks volumes regarding their attitudes. Probably also about their talent pool.

The white, upper-middle class academics who dominate the party want the ultimate token black friend: someone with the right skin color but who isn’t going to scare them or point out that they mortgaged themselves to the hilt in order to get into a “better” school district.

Hence Obama, who figured out that his skin color plus utterly routine academic leftist views were a winning combination.

  35. Another way to say it is, if you want to keep pushing your ethnic blood feud on people who want no part of it, you’re not going to be happy with the side they decide to take.

  36. As others have pointed out, when you constantly demonize white people for being white, and tell all the other races to vote according to their race, don’t be surprised when white voters start voting as an ethnic bloc.

  37. https://nypost.com/2020/08/12/aoc-gets-just-60-seconds-to-deliver-pre-recorded-message-at-dnc/

A single minute ought to be enough. If she had any principles she’d say “Nah, I’m good” and do a minute long twitter tirade (which would not be flagged for content regardless of what it said) but she’ll be a good bitch and toe the party line knowing that President Harris will reward her with a cabinet spot.

  38. They keep this up I’m afraid it won’t just be voting. A century of work ironing out America’s flaws is going to get flushed down the toilet because people will become convinced it was all a massive mistake.

  39. don’t be surprised when white voters start voting as an ethnic bloc.
    ————————–
Liberals do not have favorable opinions of their race. This is all just a different way to say the same shit. They’ll never vote based on race.

Dem voting coalition is minorities, young people, and rich or over educated white people.

Republican voting block are middle class, working class, older people, and guys with large gentlemen’s sausages (proven fact).

We’re just gonna fight over wine moms, who used to be soccer moms, who used to be security moms.

  40. Dem voting coalition is minorities, young people, and rich or over educated white people.

I’ve been saying for a while that after Obama they thought that they could win with this coalition, and didn’t need the blue collar dems who were the rank and file. Hence all the racial rhetoric, which was as much a cover for class-antipathy as actual racial grievances.

  41. It’s sort of interesting to watch GND drift further and further right. She’s actually further to the right than I am.

Legal system: more death penalty and quicker. Tomorrow in most cases. Late afternoon would be best.

Taxes: All bullshit. Tired of picking up the check.

Immigration: FU. Wait your turn assface.

Race relations: FU. Don’t tell me I have privilege. I worked my ass off.

Foreign Policy: Go away. I don’t care about you.

Health care: Every time you try to help, I pay. FU.

    Guns: More please.

  42. It’s sort of interesting to watch GND drift further and further right. She’s actually further to the right than I am.

    GND: *longwinded hard-right rant*

MJ: I’m soooo hard right now…

  43. I’ve been saying for a while that after Obama they thought that they could win with this coalition, and didn’t need the blue collar dems who were the rank and file. Hence all the racial rhetoric, which was as much a cover for class-antipathy as actual racial grievances.

Yeah, agreed. That was a poor choice but they believed the model which said minorities would replace crackers and they’d trend more heavily Dem. That hasn’t happened so they gotta play the race card to juice the black vote to Obama levels.

I really hate that increasing racism is their political strategy but it’s kinda their thing.

  44. It’s actually kinda funny Alex. Half of the time I’m just sort of perplexed.

I think she’s realized that we always pay and that we always get nothing for it.

  45. Yeah, agreed. That was a poor choice but they believed the model which said minorities would replace crackers and they’d trend more heavily Dem. That hasn’t happened so they gotta play the race card to juice the black vote to Obama levels.

Yup. And the racial stuff played into the socioeconomic and class stuff, because the upper middle class white women and beta men loved the idea of demonstrating their superiority over their redneck brother in law, who is merely a plumber and doesn’t even know who Heidegger is, by fully embracing the white guilt crap. It’s become a status symbol: I can afford Burberry sackclothes while I lecture you about how awful you are.

  46. I only knew about a few of these

  47. I really hate that increasing racism is their political strategy but it’s kinda their thing.

    ——–

“Race hustlers” is such a great name. They spend a shit ton of time thinking about how to divide us along racial lines and they hate the blacks that refuse to toe that line.

  48. Short boring story.

I have a friend whose former husband has a lot of money made from the financial markets. Name a building at Dartmouth after him money. Her two sons have a nicely funded trust. One of them married a little socialist from South America. They currently live in Florida and travel like kings (not exaggerating), buy what they want, have a gorgeous home on the water, kids in the best private schools, etc.. They are thinking of moving to possibly to the northeast or Idaho/Montana and her main concern was “not living in a red state.” “It’s too hard to find friends that I have things in common with!”

Eff off you little, stupid socialist. HTF do you think that money was earned? (Father in law is a republican). She’s just the type that would try to turn a state blue.

    I wish I found $20.

  49. MJ, stay to the right with her. She knows stuff.

  50. They are thinking of moving to possibly to the northeast or Idaho/Montana and her main concern was “not living in a red state.” “It’s too hard to find friends that I have things in common with!”

Speaking for Idaho and Montana: stay out, we’re closed. Moose out front shoulda told ya.

  51. Mare – honestly that’s the danger of having trust fund kids. So many of them are worthless. Have no idea how the world works. But they have “experience” (meaning, they’ve bought lots of things and experiences) and think that makes them knowledgeable.

  52. Werd

  53. worldmeters. Michigan. Aug 8 death count -4. So …. four people came back to life?

    (I kid)

  54. Michigan death per million is 655. Sweden is 571. US (as a whole) is 512. Our number is creeping up and I’ve always suspected it’s going to be – in the end – about the same as Sweden’s. The vulnerable population is generally the same everywhere and there is little we can do. Sweden had 3 months of 25+ death a day with no lockdown. We’re on month 5 here.

  55. Yamiche Alcindor in unfuckable – even for MJ.

  56. We’re on month 5 here.

And it will continue until at least November. Possibly until 2022 if she needs to punish us for voting wrong.

  57. Carin, I’m a little surprised you believe those numbers. I’d take off at least a third for “other deaths” if not a lot more.

  58. Comment by Thermadin on August 13, 2020 1:36 am

    PJ,

It may be time to see a mental health professional, or an audiologist.

I’m sorry. Can you repeat that and type a little louder this time? I didn’t quite catch what you were saying

  59. Took my MIL to the doctor in CA. He asked where I was from and mentioned our uptick in cases. I said, we have more cases from more testing but not a lot more deaths.

He said, “most of the vulnerable that were going to die have probably already died.”

    I think he gets it.

  60. Saw a meme with kids in the 50’s hiding under desks to protect themselves from a nuclear blast. Masks and lockdowns are much the same. STUPID.

  61. honestly that’s the danger of having trust fund kids. So many of them are worthless.

Yes and there are so, so, so many of them in Orange County. Ugh
Teachers that become teachers straight out of college are just as useless as trust fund babies…the graduate, they’ve never worked a real job where you had to beg for your two week vacation and don’t get paid near as much for a bachelor’s degree and the, their union tells them how abused they are, so they believe it

  62. Saw a meme with kids in the 50’s hiding under desks to protect themselves from a nuclear blast. Masks and lockdowns are much the same. STUPID.

Duck and cover wasn’t stupid. If you weren’t at ground zero or nearby, the biggest danger was from the blast wave knocking you into things or flinging objects such as shattered glass into you. Hence the best place to be was low to the ground, under cover such as a desk.

  63. And it will continue until at least November. Possibly until 2022 if she needs to punish us for voting wrong.

If Biden won (spits) I’d be curious to see how much we here about covid after that

  64. four people came back to life?

We always figured that the zombie apocalypse would come from China.

  65. *hear

  66. Duck and cover wasn’t stupid. If you weren’t at ground zero or nearby, the biggest danger was from the blast wave knocking you into things or flinging objects such as shattered glass into you. Hence the best place to be was low to the ground, under cover such as a desk.

This ^^ same with earthquake drills

  67. Also, this post is freaking amazing. Who did this work of art?

  68. Yup. And the racial stuff played into the socioeconomic and class stuff, because the upper middle class white women and beta men loved the idea of demonstrating their superiority over their redneck brother in law, who is merely a plumber and doesn’t even know who Heidegger is, by fully embracing the white guilt crap.
    ————————————
Oh man that’s so true. One of my neighbors basically said something like that at our block party last week. He was worried about his daughter and son in law coming to visit. They’d have to social distance for meals on the porch because of covid. And that’s going to be weird because the porch is small and they have nothing to talk about. You see, he thinks he’s too smart for us but he’s from Alabama.

LOL. I love the neighbors but they’re kinda goofy sometimes and couldn’t spell irony if I spotted them the iron.

He also called our Columbian neighbor’s friend ‘you people’ but only meant non mask wearers, not brown people. Again, hilarious.

  69. Yamiche Alcindor in unfuckable – even for MJ.
    ————————-
    2/10 would not smash.

WOULD NOT. THIS IS THE ONE PEOPLE.

  70. Just kidding I would. I still need a black chick to complete my bingo card.

  71. Gosh, I hope those desks don’t move in the blast. Radiation never wafts in the wind.

Earthquakes are different. Stuff falling from the ceiling is a hazard.

Never leaving your home and wearing a hazmat suit is also an excellent solution to all problems. Done and done.

  72. If Biden won (spits) I’d be curious to see how much we here about covid after that
    —————————
Remember how big of a deal Iraq was from about 2003-2008?

    What changed in 2008?

It had been so long that we heard about it that I wasn’t sure we still had troops there 5 or 6 years later.

    Covid will be the same.

  73. Gosh, I hope those desks don’t move in the blast. Radiation never wafts in the wind.

The desks may move, but there’s still going to be a lot of debris falling. Even if the radiation doesn’t get you, it’ll be like that Beirut blast, there’s gonna be a lot of debris falling long after the blast even if you didn’t die from the initial blast, best to stay covered til you can safely evacuate.
Having said all that, masks are still stupid.

  74. If Biden won (spits) I’d be curious to see how much we here about covid after that
    ——
MJ got there before me with more words. I was gonna say “Zilch”

  75. The dangers from radioactive fallout vary heavily based on a lot of factors, most notably if the bomb is air burst or ground burst. And exposure for most survivors of an attack can be treated if they can be quickly evacuated from affected areas surrounding ground zero. It’s a lot harder to do when everyone is injured from the blast wave.

As for desks moving, that may be the case, but it’s still a lot better protection than nothing, and in most circumstances getting under the desk would be enough protection from the immediate attack.

  76. It should also be noted that desks are located in school buildings, and school buildings especially during the 50s-70s, tended to be built very well. Lots of concrete, stone, etc., to absorb much of the blast wave. So your biggest concern is going to be the windows shattering and turning into flying shards, along with any other debris carried along. Hence, find cover under the desks, which puts you below window level and gives you cover over your head.

  77. Carin, I’m a little surprised you believe those numbers. I’d take off at least a third for “other deaths” if not a lot more.

The numbers are OK to compare one area to another. Unless you think Sweden is over-counting deaths? It seems most countries are using a similar metric so comparing DPM is a valuable tool . SYWM

  78. Having said all that, masks are still stupid.

Oh come on, you look great in a mask.

  79. you think other countries are reporting at the same rate as us? I do not, we report so many deaths as covid when they aren’t. It’s inflating our numbers.

  80. The schools I went to didn’t have windows…..

  81. Duck and cover kids would have done fine in Beirut last week.

Look at those vids and tell me it wouldn’t have helped some of those folks.

  82. I remember homelessness being front and center during Reagan and Bush 41. Night after night those cruel republicans did nothing about the homeless. Then Slick Willie gets elect d and …..poof. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. They disappeared like the wind.

  83. The schools I went to didn’t have windows….

    Schools, not prisons
    Gawl

  84. ou think other countries are reporting at the same rate as us? I do not, we report so many deaths as covid when they aren’t. It’s inflating our numbers.

If we are inflating, and they are not, then places such as Sweden did really, really badly. My premise is that Sweden went through their deaths very quickly, and we have dragged it out.

I think we are inflating our test numbers – and don’t really care what those look like. But I think Sweden, as are we, are saying “covid death” if Covid was one of the causes of death.

  85. Here you go, Car in. You have time before the 2021 concerts start.

  86. Taiwan would periodically turn off all electricity on the island. We had CCP drills at school. Beaches on the Western side of the island would close at night and Taiwanese military would patrol. You really didn’t want to test the KMT.

  87. We kept losing all of our tropical fish in the fish tank. It wasn’t about CCP preparedness, it was Big Fish Lobby.

    Lapeer Party Wagon.

  100. I think we all need the party wagon. Better than the CrossFit BS that Carin is trying to kill MJ with

  101. If you strip out the cabinets, beds, sink, and all that other crap I can show you how to make money with that thing.

  102. Scott, I’ve seriously considered it.

  103. It isn’t glamorous, but you don’t work for anyone and you don’t have to work with anyone.

You have customers, and they suck, but you rarely interact with them.

  104. Even, Steven. Listen to Scott.

  105. This week blows.

80 hours since saturday. No end in sight, and the weekend is now gone again. 2 people going on vacation next week, and the shit continues.

If on the off chance you’re arrested…no worries, either the DA will not prosecute or else we’ll have a “fund” pay your bail, supply a attorney, and counter sue for violating your civil rights. All you have to say is you’re mostly peaceful protesting.
