MMM 19: Throwback edition

From the before-time, in the long-long ago, when people had faces and it was good that kids got the sniffles because it encouraged a healthy immune system.

Good balance on this one.

I didn’t watch the Olympics when she was in it.  Remember those?  Athletic competitions, outside, with crowds of observers cheering?  I’m starting to forget, and the generation to come will never know of them.

  1. I think I’ll create a post about peak cringe for tomorrow.

    You can’t really believe it.

There’s a middle aged man in a dress pretending to be a woman and a cat catching a toy in slo mo set to Carmina Burana.

    What more could you want?

  2. After some frustration with a quick rebuild of my riser yesterday, I have returned to a standing desk configuration. It’s been 20 minutes and my feet are killing me, but they’ve barely been used in the last couple of years.

  3. Have you been walking on your hands?

  4. What more could you want?

I want it interspersed with clips from Excalibur and Arthur and the knights to bust in toward the end for a righteous decapitation.

  5. Have you been walking on your hands?

    Sitting on my ass.

  6. He piggy backed on your mom.

  7. Are there people claiming to be trans that simply put on a dress and don’t even bother shaving their face?

    Yes.

Are there men who stay in a shelter for battered women, claiming to battered women?

    Yes.

Do you also need expert advice on how to get your cat to take a pill?

    Yes, yes you do.

  8. I saw a post yesterday from a woman complaining about the draconian lockdown going on in Australia, and huh, y’all gave up your guns, guess what happens next.

  9. Australia and the UK are both going nuts about this way later than I thought they would, and Boris is apparently all in on the insanity.

  10. I try to go for a walk or a quick run at lunchtime, and get up and walk around about every hour just to make sure I don’t spend the whole day on my ass.

  11. wakey wakey

  12. So, something happened in chicago last night?

  13. This was the post I saw.
    https://tinyurl.com/y49afvkn

    https://justthenews.com/world/australia/covid-lockdown-melbourne-permits-childcare-3-mile-travel-limit-daily-1-hour-outdoor

“Individuals violating the “permit scheme” can be fined up to $20,000, including a $1,652 fine if a worker forgets to carry his or her permit to work.”

    “Your papers, please!”

  14. I try to go for a walk or a quick run at lunchtime, and get up and walk around about every hour just to make sure I don’t spend the whole day on my ass your mom.

    fixed it for Hotspur

  15. If God didn’t want me to sit on my ass all day, why did he make it so fantastic?

  16. So I’m trying to find a reasonable holster and concealed carry method that works for my work wardrobe. It’s kind of looking like pocket or ankle are my only options, I have to tuck in my shirt and I’m sitting all day. The Urban Carry holster I bought just does not work for my weapon and dad bod. I have purchased multiple inside and outside the waistband holsters which will be fine for casual but not 8 to 5 M-F. I also will purchase a new subcompact and pocket revolver at some point if supply ever catches up with demand. 5′ barrel is too big for down the pants.

  17. Need a quickdraw fanny pack.

  18. Leon’s unused feet reminded me of the old poem:

One night I dreamed a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

“Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I’m aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don’t understand why, when I need You most, You leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I was banging your mom.”

  19. HAHAHAHAHAHA

  20. The place I ripped the text off of called it a poem, anyway. Doesn’t seem very poetic to me.

Anyway, if you’ve read it all ready, as I’m sure you have, skip to the last line.

  21. First

  22. That son of a bitch.

  23. @ScottAdamsSays

The Biden mental competence story has now fully morphed into a Monty Python sketch about a dead parrot the owner insists is perfectly healthy. I can’t even listen to people claiming Biden is perfectly fine without hearing a British accent.

    “He’s pining for the fjords!”

  24. At this rate Biden is going to wander off after a campaign event and be found walking along the side of the road with no idea where he is.

  25. The absolute funniest thing of all time would be that Biden gets on stage with Trump and is erudite and lucid at a level that no one has ever seen.

As in, he sounds like Christopher Hitchens.

It’ll never happen but wouldn’t that be hilarious?

  26. Everyone would know that he’s on drugs.

  27. We need 4chan folks to figure out a way to hack into whatever earpiece they give him to feed him lines, and start feeding him BS.

    Question about race in America?

“That’s a good question. I’ve always believed in building bridges towards racial reconciliation and healing, and I’ve always opposed racism. When Hunter got that little negro girl pregnant, we were more than happy to pay to support her and her mother…”

  28. His dementia is Oscar-worthy, if that were the case.

  29. Considering he’s been on-mic at campaign stops with no clue where he is, the wandering off part would just be gravy.

Feeding him BS lines instead of the usual would backfire. Given how he bungles the scripted stuff he’d probably accidentally wind up sounding brilliant.

  30. Lebanon’s government just resigned.

  31. Huh, didn’t see that coming.

  32. I can’t understand Michigan. I just don’t get it.

The governor is enacting more controlling measures to combat the second wave of Covid cases and deaths.

    The average is 2.

2 people die from Covid everyday in Michigan.

    I’m baffled here.

  33. Now that they can no longer stockpile their fireworks small arms ammo next to their ammonium nitrate RPGs and missile launchers, what’s the point of continuing?

  34. It’s pretty simple really. The more extreme she can make it (which the dems cheer on, BTW) the more they can make a case for mail-in voting.

  35. 17 electoral votes, MJ. She’s torturing us to ensure fraud-by-mail when the time comes, because the risk is too great!

The legislature can’t override her veto and the court hasn’t rules whether she’s violating statute. She clearly is — her first declaration cites one law but her later ones all cite a law superseded by the first one cited — but no one has smacked this shit down yet.

Be a darn shame if she and her pet AG were to have a terrible accident in an autonomous car or something.

  36. I don’t know how you can lie for 3 months straight, though. How do you keep it up?

  37. You just keep making up new lies, bully anyone who asks questions, and try to gaslight everyone else.

So basically like a successful marriage.

  38. For Dims it’s like breathing. You don’t have to remember to breathe.

  39. She’s never signed the front of a paycheck, or the back of one that didn’t come from a government entity. She lies like she breathes.

The local news loves this shit. Easy copy every day on the same shit, people locked in their houses watching or hitting refresh on the website to see what today’s new edict is, and selling terror to those who want to buy is EZ mode.

  40. A lot of it is driven by opportunism, hoping to get mail-in ballots, government funding, etc. I also suspect that there’s no small amount of panic as well, as these folks are in over their heads. We’ve successfully bred a political class which is optimized for getting elected, but not for actually governing. Hence why they’re so dependent on bureaucrats to manage everything. But this means that there’s no leadership, no creative thinking, and ultimately their instinct is to hunker down and wait for a miracle.

  41. She also pulled the same shit with nursing homes that Cuomo did, and with far less attention since she’s not related to a CNN anchor, goosing the early death numbers to create a pretense for this bullshit.

She’s a monstrous ghoul. Evil in her banal brazenness.

  42. https://freebeacon.com/2020-election/harris-tlaib-whitmer-back-author-of-misogynist-blog/

I’m not an Upton fan, but wow, here’s some contrast.

  43. how anyone thinks this post is better than Guy on a Buffalo is beyond comprehension

  44. After looking at that dude’s picture, tell my physiognomy isn’t real. He looks like the kind of guy you’d expect the cops to find hiding the bodies of male prostitutes in his crawlspace.

  45. PJM, this poat has more testosterone.

  46. My tenant in FL is 2600 behind on her rent.

The AC blew up so she wants it fixed ASAP.

    Now that’s some karma.

  47. I’m glad I sold my rental years ago.

  48. Also, today was MJrs first day of skool.

A little weird with all the new shit but whatever. We’ll look back on this and try to remember how odd it was, laughing at our collective stupidity.

  49. Physiognomy is real. Proven daily.

A waitress could take one look at my governor and happily hand the table off to someone else or take her break.

  50. “Breeders against John Hoadley”

Got a nice ring to it.

  51. Dude, it’s babysitting.

  52. I find it … something something …. that many of the people I grew up with in Grosse Pointe – mostly privileged, etc, and not just liberal, but FAR left. It’s weird. Most of them moved (far) away from home after college.

I think there are connections and themes here.

  53. They were all mostly non political when I knew them.

  54. Big Ten cancels football season.

  55. I find it … something something …. that many of the people I grew up with in Grosse Pointe – mostly privileged, etc, and not just liberal, but FAR left. It’s weird. Most of them moved (far) away from home after college.

I think there are connections and themes here.

The destruction of local communities and the encouragement for people to completely uproot their lives and move elsewhere eliminates the networks of support that people rely on. When you don’t have family, long-time friends, and institutions like you once did, you are drawn to anything which can fill that void, such as politics or activist groups.

  56. One good thing about teleworking – I can have poppyseed dressing on my salad without worrying about a surprise drug test at work.

(I know, I’m reaching, work with me here.)

  57. CoAlex – that is probably a big part of it. Grosse pointe is still a good community, but there is a sense (in many adults) that if you don’t go somewhere else, you’re sort of a loser. Everyone needs to “get away”. Don’t let family keep you down.

Move to New York. Or California. No ties that bind. It is the modern way of being upwardly mobile.

  58. Xbradtc, if you’re reading this, I wanted to ask what you thought about the Bosch series Amazon Prime.

It’s one of the few series where the storyline is even better than the first season.

I did not read the books although I think I have a few, so I can’t say whether or not the actors translate the characters well.

  59. Hey, what’s the place where scott gets his laptop from that’s a deal?

  60. Carin,

When we offshored manufacturing it wasn’t just line worker jobs that went away: we also lost the accounting, legal, management, etc. white-collar jobs that supported those industries. So even if the factory worker’s kids go to college and get degrees in engineering or accounting, they can’t come back to their hometown and settle down. No, they have to move half-way across the country, away from their family, from their culture, and try to assimilate.

Human beings are tribal creatures. We instinctively build groups and communities wherever we go. This can be a good thing, but it can also be dangerous.

It’s one of the reasons that I’m not a libertarian: any philosophy which doesn’t acknowledge and incorporate that into its system is doomed to failure.

  61. So Melbourne is only allowing one hour outdoors? WTF, the shit is all spread by being stuck indoors. Fresh air and sunlight kills the virus.
And I’m betting everyone is going along with it.

  62. It’s a giant turd that so many Americans and everyone who lives in Melbourne are completely stupid.

  63. Well … Detroit and the ‘burbs around it doesn’t exactly fit that bill. I knew these people “back then” and living somewhere else was always part of the dream.

  64. Leon is right (not surprising). We need to deal with this French Revolution style. It’s incredible what we are allowing them to do.

  65. So MIL has been in the hospital for how many days and we still haven’t heard from a doctor. A nurse finally called yesterday to find out what is up from our perspective since she sat down with MIL and actually talked to her. She thought it strange that outside the hearing of the voices, she seems so sharp and rational. Wanted to know why she no longer felt safe at home. Filled her in as she didn’t know how quick the events had happened and that it was MIL as the aggressor.

Mr. B. thanked her for being the only person who seemed to give a crap and please tell the doctor to call us yesterday.

  66. …this to us.

  67. Yikes, Beasnsnsnsn, can you tell me what happened to your MIL. I’ve been in CA and not doing any online stuff.

  68. This is a rather silly article:

    https://www.overcomingbias.com/2020/08/remote-work-specializes.html

I got to this paragraph and bailed.

To see the potential, consider plumbing. Today plumbers are generalists who work for small scale firms. Each plumber does most plumbing tasks, and you usually pick one from among a few small local firms. Now imagine that a plumbing avatar can be controlled well remotely by plumbers a thousand miles away. An avatar comes to do your plumbing job, an avatar controlled in sequence by plumbers who specialize in doing each stage of your type of plumbing problem. Just as factories can be more efficient when each worker specializes in doing one small task, plumbing could also become more efficient via such specialization. And each plumbing specialist could be chosen as the best from all candidates within a thousand miles.

  69. When you don’t have family, long-time friends, and institutions like you once did, you are drawn to anything which can fill that void, such as politics or activist groups.

Or hanging out on sketchy web sites with folks in the comments sections who…y’know, forget I said anything.

  70. Or hanging out on sketchy web sites with folks in the comments sections who…y’know…”

    ——–
Correct. We may be sketchy but we’re our sketchy creeps.

  71. Part of the reason I like tango so much is (was) that anywhere I went there was a community that I could join. We’ll see if it still exists after this is over with.

  72. Do you also need expert advice on how to get your cat to take a pill?
    ————————————————–

Why would you ever give a cat a pill? Won’t that make them better, and therefore live longer?

And they tell me I’m crazy…

  73. Why would you ever give a cat a pill? Won’t that make them better, and therefore live longer?

Depends on the pill. LSD and methamphetamine FTW.

  74. What happened was that Beasn’s mil finally realized the truth. That beasn was a witch and had Mr Beasn under a spell and they were plotting killing mil or something evil. Beasn dances under the moon naked probably and is constantly screaming at poor Mr Beasn.

Or, MIL was hearing shit at night, believed most of what I wrote up above, and scaring the crap out of beasn.

  75. St jude needs to shut his whore mouth.

  76. Why would you ever give a cat a pill? Won’t that make them better, and therefore live longer?

ahahahaha I have cats and I love them…sorta
but this comment just cracked me the heck up

  77. Mare, this was b-rad’s response to you haha very short answer
    Great series. Worth binging.

  78. So I’m trying to find a reasonable holster and concealed carry method that works for my work wardrobe
    ———————————–

Opinions are like, well, y’know…. Everyone has one. And I’m far from the expert. But I would think a long time before going with an ankle holster. Every cop I ever met who used one, including me, had the damn gun fall out at some point. Granted, usually during a foot pursuit, or vaulting a fence or something, but still. There are probably better ones out there than the cheap crap I used on the beat. But even if retention isn’t the problem, getting to the weapon if you need to can be. Most pants don’t work super well with an ankle holster. And drawing a weapon is a multi-stage production. If you tailor your wardrobe accordingly, and PRACTICE, you may be able to overcome the drawbacks. I switched very quickly to a pocket holster for my 2nd backup, and was much happier. Primary back up was in a vest holster. I’m pretty sure you can find inside the shirt holsters that mimic a vest holster, although there may be a significant imprint. But, YMMV.

  79. We need to deal with this French Revolution style. It’s incredible what we are allowing them to do.

“we” are not allowing it. Proggie politicians and elite are allowing it.

That shit isn’t going to fly in most of America.

  80. arrrrgh
    I’m not a cranky person
Today, I am officially a cranky person. Have all these kids that broke their chromebooks God knows when, needing me to swap one out for them while I either repair theirs or send them away to repair…only, I haven’t had time to fix any of the chromebooks to even swap them out, plus everyone in the admin building and all 100 teachers need something right now because it’s the first day of school and my 9th grader is at home trying to figure out how to do his first day of not only high school, but online high school and I’m trying to help him, but I’m here and lost as well.
    Ok, I’ve ranted

  81. how anyone thinks this post is better than Guy on a Buffalo is beyond comprehension
    ————————————————-
EVERYONE thinks this post is better than Guy on Buffalo. My grandpa used to say if you know more than 3 complete assholes, maybe it’s you.

Of course, he also used to say if we all liked the same thing, we’d all be banging grandma… So there’s that point in your favor, PJM.

  82. Of course, he also used to say if we all liked the same thing, we’d all be banging grandma…

I’ve got some news for you…

  83. we’d all be banging grandma…

    Got any pictures?

  84. Carin, I think the computer place is Newegg.

  85. oh man, I had this whole rant up about how cranky I was and it didn’t post here
oh well, Im’ not cranky anymore
    thanks for letting me vent

  86. Well, that de-escalated quickly.

  87. Just as factories can be more efficient when each worker specializes in doing one small task, plumbing could also become more efficient via such specialization. Robin got into my stash!

  88. Thanks Jude. A foot pursuit or vaulting anything are not on the agenda for the foreseeable future, I only run from bears. If I can carry a big enough revolver I won’t even do that.

  89. Mare, I love the Bosch series. Only problem I have, is one season may have 2 or 3 books squeezed into it. It isn’t chronological. I still love it. His most recent books have been amazing story telling.

  90. Thanks Jude. A foot pursuit or vaulting anything are not on the agenda for the foreseeable future, I only run from bears. If I can carry a big enough revolver I won’t even do that.
    ————————————————–
Tracking that. But I guess the ultimate question, which only you can answer, is what is your plan if faced with a lethal force situation. You going to run if you can? That’s my recommendation, and my plan. Changes slightly if I have the family with me. But if I’m running, it’s no different than a foot pursuit. If I’m going to stand my ground, I’m looking for something with a quicker draw capability than an ankle holster will provide. Depends on where you often are… Somewhere with lots of cover? Something you could duck behind? Or are you going to be a sitting duck kneeling to get at a weapon placed as far from your hands as you can?

Point is, holsters, and where you carry them, are really important. Nothing wrong with trying different ones out and going with what you like. Just like the actual weapon you carry. Good luck finding one that works for you.

  91. Mare, go back to Thurs 7/30 and Fri 7/31 poats and scroll through to my comments, which explains what happened.

  92. Mare, I’ve read the Bosch series and I like the show, like Oso said they cram a couple of book storylines into a season and I’ll add that they add details and characters for dramatic effect that are not in the books. Also I’d have to warn you that I’ve got a feeling and I can’t let go, can’t let go, can’t let go.

  93. After a week of mid 70s temps, today is stifling hot. 92 but feels like 105. Yuck.

  94. I’m on season 4 or 5 of Bosch. Love it. I was just wondering how the series translated from the books.

  95. I like the theme music also. Although my husband always “skips intro.”

  96. Is it possible for me to hate Oprah Winfrey more? No, it’s not.

And before any of you heathens think you’re not supposed to hate, you’re wrong. You’re supposed to hate evil. And that mouthy bitch is evil.

  97. She IS evil. She’s the reason we had JEF inflicted on us. JEF gave us 45.

  98. Before Wuhan Kung Flu, the Lincoln Lawyer had been greenlighted. It was dropped.

  99. Oprah is not a nice lady.

I have a great Oprah story. Girl I was dating went to the Oprah show with 2 of my sisters. Sisters are pretty straight-laced. Uptight suburban professional type.

Anyway, girlfriend had 1/4 oz of pot in her purse and security was checking bags. She quickly ducked out of line, used the BR and shoved it into her bra.

Went through a taping of Oprah with kind bud under a tit. LOL

Man, that chick was a disaster.

  100. Beasnsnsnsns, it sounds terrible (I went back and read what happened). This is not helpful:

Comment by beasn on July 31, 2020 2:35 pm
Mr. B. suggested that I go stay at my daughter’s so he doesn’t have to lie to his mom that I am at my daughter’s.

If lying to his demented (I mean that clinically) mom is a problem for him you’re in for a shitstorm if she continues to live with you.

You will continually have to tell little white lies (to her) to get your ass through the day and so will your husband.

If she is sundowning telling her the “truth” will do no good.

  101. Oprah was VERY close to Weinstein (based on the multitude of pictures where she’s hugging and kissing him).

Yeah, like she didn’t know he was a pig.

  102. Tinfoil tiara on “Oprah wears the same red stone ring that the other child predators wear”. 45 is breaking up their child trafficking rings, globally. They hate him.

  103. One year ago today, Epstein didn’t kill himself.

  104. I must say, I follow (on Instagram) plenty of individuals who have linked the pictures of the people wearing the red ring. Oprah was abused as a child and it is not inconceivable that she would have those tendencies. There is a lot of evidence that child trafficking is a lot worse than any covid bullshit.

I think for normal people, it is impossible to believe that others have desires that they themselves are not capable of comprehending. And are so horrendous that they refuse to believe it’s possible. I understand that thinking.

But I think the pedophile world is a large one and from what I understand Trump is kicking ass in shutting down some of the means of transporting children and adults.

  105. When I ponder what Trump has done, I can see that I have been utterly manipulated and sandbagged by the GOP. Every GOP President since Reagan except for Trump has been a figurehead and only a figurehead. Doing nothing for Americans and in fact, putting Americans pretty low on the effing list.

I now understand the Keep America Great and the America First push that Trump is championing.

It takes an outsider and particularly someone who is not a member of an oligarchy to start getting shit down.

  106. Mare, @Jack on Twitter takes down posts and accounts of people promoting the 95% effective Zelenko(v) treatment, yet pedophiles and Paedo friendly accounts stay up. Ted Cruz and Kirstie Alley have been targeting the evil accounts. We’ll see.

  107. Mare, my Trump vote in 2016 is the most meaningful vote that I’ve ever cast.

  108. Gas can+hell=2020

  109. Agree with both your comments, Oso.

  110. You going to run if you can? That’s my recommendation, and my plan.

I wasn’t trying be all tough-guy stand-my-ground with my no running comment, it’s more related to the dad-bod problem than any bravado. I’m not capable of traveling quickly, it’s just going to be a short, awkward trot and then a rest period. Barkey Allen crossed with Slow-Poke Rodriguez.

    https://tinyurl.com/yxsrbumq

  111. Pupster, fuckers have been trying to cancel Speedy Gonzales and Slow-poke Rodriguez. (Auto-correct changed Pupster to Punster. Poor J’ames)

  112. Oprah has some really bad shit in her closet. Otherwise why wouldn’t she be at the top of Biden’d VP list?

And don’t tell me she’s said she doesn’t want it. She doesn’t want it because she knows her really awful shit will hit the fan.

  113. HS, that’s why she sponsored the Obamas. They were a cypher. Able to lock down their histories with the help of John Brennan

  114. Trump show is back. Some action around the WH.

  115. @ Pups sounds like off body carry is going to be your solution or go with sub compact and pocket carry. I have a Assault Sytems attache from back in the day, fanny pak would work but def out of style.

We talking khakis and polo (tucked) work environment? What’s the winter attire there? (I know you live in NC so winter is a relative term)

  116. Spot me bro is every Dachshund EVER.

  117. Dan has two guns that have wallet sized holsters. I forget what they are called. One is a 38.

  118. Houseguest got the apartment!

2 years 10 months wins the pool.

  119. Pupster, would a Sneaky Pete holster work for you? Our computer geek carried that way for years. We always assumed it was for his phone.

  120. Yay! Scott is now free to be no mas pantalones

  121. Scott needs a pair of tear-away jogging pants for the day houseguest drives off. Walk inside the house, tear them off, sprawl out on the couch.

  122. On Sunday, Dan shops after TV Mass. (I refuse to Mass in a mask). It is Hostage shopping list equivalent, but he shops without a list. Gets home. Unpacks his shopping bag. Every item gets a comment. He’s a regular Gallagher or Carrot Top. He pulls out sponges, these are for you to wash dishes…puts them back in the bag. Never mind, you don’t wash dishes. I broke my brush handle. I’ve been brushing my hair with the bristles. He bought me a new brush. With a handle. He’s an ass.

  123. Polo tucked in and slacks. I could probably get away with khakis but not cargos. Light to medium jacket December and January, I work in an office environment where a sport coat would be overdressed but cargos would be under. My boss wears under armor pullovers 5 days a week over a dress shirt, former jock in pretty good shape.

I looked at the sneaky pete but I thought it was a little not quite sneaky enough.

  124. He buys Spot Shot. So I can clean up after pooper. He buys me Mini Candy Corn and peanuts. Buys a bag for himself because I eat them like crack. Takes both bags and places them on top shelf in pantry

  125. Sneaky Pete is my go to for summer hiking.

  126. Pretty sure Dan has a Sneaky Pete for his 7 shot. Pretty sure. Did I mention that Dan has been buying guns and ammo since January?

  127. wasn’t trying be all tough-guy stand-my-ground with my no running comment, it’s more related to the dad-bod problem than any bravado. I’m not capable of traveling quickly, it’s just going to be a short, awkward trot and then a rest period. Barkey Allen crossed with Slow-Poke Rodriguez.

Don’t get it twisted. Everyone has their own game plan, and I didn’t mean to sound like I was second guessing. I’m just saying if you want to run, the damn gun may go flying. If you want to stand and fight, an ankle holster has the weapon as far away from you as you can get and still be on your body. Thus the reason I’m not super fond of ankle holsters. That doesn’t mean it won’t work for you.

Fysa, it seems a little weird, but I have heard some good things about this. Thunderware.com. May not be your cup of tea. But I’ve known guys with the “Dad bod” who like them.

  128. Ffs. Should be thunderwear.com

  129. Found out today my BIL bought two guns.

My and I took him shooting for the first time a few years ago.

He looked terrified when he shot a 44 magnum. We laughed and laughed.

  130. OMG I must have this right now. THUNDERWEAR! Where have you been all my life?

Mrs. Pupster needs to fix their website, it looks really bad.

  131. I have a few of the Sticky brand holsters. If you’re going to pocket carry they’re a good choice

  132. Thunderwear – before you shoot your mouth off you can shoot your dick off.

  133. Thanks Jude!

  134. No problem, Pupster. I’m here for you.

  135. I saw Thunderbritches open for Tool in ’08.

  136. Scott, Carin was asking about your computer source. Is it Newegg?

I’m thinking of getting a new computer, too. This one, like me, is a little cracked.

  137. Yes, for reconditioned desktops.

I have had great luck with them.

  138. First – MJ’s Oprah story was NOT that great. I want my money back.

second- I think for normal people, it is impossible to believe that others have desires that they themselves are not capable of comprehending. And are so horrendous that they refuse to believe it’s possible. I understand that thinking.

I can’t imagine how anyone has those thoughts. I wonder if there are people who have the urges, but control it? But then perhaps there is just something wrong in their brain – and they have the thoughts and can’t stop themselves?

But like other sexual deviance, I think they’re fucked in the head. Probably from some abuse, etc. except they can’t be fixed. Put them out of their misery.

  139. Desmond envied Rick Pitino.

  140. Too quiet this morning.

  141. My mother passed Sunday morning around 0430, a week to the day she said she did not feel like she had much time left. During that week we were able to say our good-byes. The night before she died the A/C quit working but it was the first decent night (60’s/low humidity) in a while so we made do with open windows and fans. To ease tension the following day I told my relatives who stopped by to say their final good-byes that it was a sign from the old man that Marilyn was leaving this earth. My dad was an HVAC man and would have known what was up with it instead of being clueless. When my sister and mom met with the funeral home pre-Covid the plan was for a funeral within a day or two but when my sister called later that morning for them to take her body the on call guy said everything was delayed because of the Rona. So I headed back home and left my sister to finalize things. Funeral this Friday so Paula and Ben will drive back down with me for the funeral.

As it was with my father, death was a blessing for my mom in terms of easing her suffering. I am grateful I was able to be there for her final week, just wish there had been freer travel in the months leading up to this time. I’ll put the obituary up after it’s published. Deirdre wanted to delay it until after the funeral to lessen the chances of people stopping in to the funeral unannounced. We have to give a list for contact tracing FFS.

  142. MJ threatened us with a cringe post, I think folks are taking cover and getting their feet set.

  143. I wish you peace Jimbro, you have my condolences.

  144. Her suffering is over. Peace to your family, Jimbro.

  145. Guys, I closed my last twitter account some time ago. I don’t know, a month, maybe a coupletree months ago? Anyway. I feel pretty good most of the time. I rarely get jangled and angry like I had become accustomed to being because I was always reading ad reacting to that garbage. Social media is a pipeline of lies and emotional filth. The information age was supposed to enlighten us but it’s doing the opposite.

I would urge anyone to shut off the pipeline and see if you feel better.

  146. But like other sexual deviance, I think they’re fucked in the head. Probably from some abuse, etc. except they can’t be fixed. Put them out of their misery.

I don’t know how my comment came across but I agree with ^^^ completely.

What I was trying to say is that normal Americans can’t believe people they see on TV or whom they admire might be monsters because they “know” them.

They won’t believe that celebrities do absolutely sick garbage. That is the thinking I understand. I understand naive people not believing it but I am certainly not one of the naive people…anymore. I’m all in on all of the conspiracies and celebrity pedophiles is an easy one to believe.

  147. There will be cringe. But it’ll be mid morning cringe, which is the best cringe. Some say its the cringiest.

  148. You don’t have to set the bar that high. We’re not all that picky about our cringe, really. Any cringe will do.

  149. H2 cringe threshold: High

  150. I’m so sorry, Jimbro. (((HUGS)))

  151. Condolences, Jimbro.

I don’t have the words for this stuff I used to. Guess that’s life.

  152. Jimbro, you did well with your Mom. Condolences.

  153. New poat!

  154. I appreciate your kind words. The relatively slow motion process of her illness from cancer let me process things along the way. Like most moms she was more concerned about her kids and grandkids being hurt about her loss and did her best to reassure us she was at peace with her fate. Like anyone, I am sure she was scared at times but she remained prayerful until the end until we took over and prayed the rosary for her.
