  14. well, that tourist didn’t need to stay home, probably a protestor. Covid can’t affect them.

Though I suppose if you have a fire extinguisher due for a refresh, that couldn’t hurt.

  35. It rained on the plant crap I cut yesterday so that’s gonna sit for a bit.

  36. Is it because you are at elevation or just so far north that is still snowing?

I went through Berthoud pass last week and it was snowing at 11,000′. I parked and enjoyed it in my tee shirt and jeans as long as I could. The waterfall helped.

A part of me hopes that conservative blogs (and blogs and web forums in general) experience a resurgence as Twitter continues to fuck the chicken.

  39. Yeah, I quit my twitter account again. I went over to revive my gab account but I really don’t like it there.

  40. *checks clipboard*
    ummm
Whose turn was it to do the entertaining today?

  41. I have a Parler account, but it’s pretty dead over there. I read a few twitter accounts, but I deleted my own because it’s not psychologically healthy to participate in that mess.

I miss the days of BBSes, blog comment sections, and USENET. Days when the internet was actually free and people had thicker skins.

  42. Thick skin is White Privilege, I think. That’s why you have to give it up to really be a white leftist.

  43. I was going to joke about your thicker skin comment Alex, but on second thought you are correct, stiff upper lip, and take it like a man, went out a long time ago.

  44. Love that wife carrying contest. My husband would have dropped me on my head within the first 50 yards because that is my center of gravity.

  45. Vmax, how many doggos do you have RIGHT NOW?

  47. This has been re-defined to “up the butt”, please update your lexicon.

That’s “take it like a boyscout.”

  48. Has anyone seen the CNN segment where they are talking to a pathologist who is saying the autopsies she has done on covid deaths showed lots and lots of clots? Any thoughts? First I’ve heard of it, though ‘they’ are saying it’s more an attack on the cardiovascular systems than a ‘flu’.

ChYna needs a kick in the ass.

  49. I’m about to say something super controversial. So – I think I can only say it here. At my safe space.

    Ready?

Public education has contributed to single parenthood.

All the divorced/single parents are loosing their shit right now because the public school teachers certainly can’t be asked to go to work (for their pay) right now because of the ebola. So, these parents- don’t know what they are going to do because they have to work, etc

Who is going to educate their children??? Private education is very expensive

But a LOT of “adults” had children knowing that in 5 years, they get free daycare for 10 months out of the year. Or even younger in some areas.

  50. This has been re-defined to “up the butt”, please update your lexicon.

Only if you’re a soiboi. Real men don’t need no updating.

  51. Uncle Sugar/democrats/the push to turn women into tax revenue, have contributed to single parenthood more.

  52. If teachers and government workers (BIRM) had gone on unemployment like everyone else, this scam would have been over in April.

  53. Skimmed some bullshit article that althouse posted to do with NYT agreeing with Trump that kids need to go back to school…..but only because they think parents need the help of schools to feed/raise them. Can’t let parents find out how much better their kids do out of those cesspools.

    o_O

  54. Covid or not, I really wish my BIL would visit his mother. He can wear a mask like his wife did a week or so ago.

  55. deaths showed lots and lots of clots? Any thoughts? First I’ve heard of it, though ‘they’ are saying it’s more an attack on the cardiovascular systems than a ‘flu’.

This has been known for a while. Part of the reason that a lot of us were worried about this early on was that it has symptoms which are not flu-like, including a issues with clotting. The Kung Flu is weird, which tends to lend weight to the idea that the Chicoms were fucking around with bioweapons and this little experiment got free.

  56. Can’t let parents find out how much better their kids do out of those cesspools.

    o_O

To be honest, a lot of parents seem to be discovering that their kids are stupid little shits and that it’s not the teacher’s fault Johnny can’t read good and his shit’s all retarded. It’s theirs.

  57. The free daycare starts very early in many places, well before school.

  58. Clotting as a factor could explain the mild protective effect some studies showed for moderate alcohol consumption.

  59. Public school is just daycare.

  60. Only if you’re a soiboi. Real men don’t need no updating.
Yeah, they just take it up the butt and keep quiet about it.

  61. I’d hate to be a kindergarten or preschool teacher or hell, even a junior high person in these times

  67. When we were in ABQ the other day, saw a very pregnant woman puffing on a cigarette outside the Buy Buy Baby.

  68. I’ve got accounts on Twitter, Gab (totally forgot that platform until Laura mentioned it) and Parler and think Twitter has the best layout. When I’m on the other ones I’m really not inspired to keep clicking around. That being said, I really don’t read stuff that annoys me on Twitter and try to keep my time there limited. My brother is on it constantly. He is way too political and has a hard time keeping his mouth closed when visiting my mom and very liberal sister.

  69. I just don’t like how I start to feel within a few minutes of being on twitter. Its all just a lot of screeching. Nyoop. Don’t need more of that in my life.

It’s the pessimism, really. I’m either constitutionally unable to hold darkness for long, or I’ve successfully trained my brain to run away from it.

There are no dopamine treats on that platform for me. Not enough to counteract the ugliness, anyway.

Speaking of which, have you guys heard about dopamine detox? It’s a good idea to do once in a while. I probably really need to get to it, I’m at the point where I can hardly read a real book anymore.

  70. Laura, I keep telling myself I should do it. It’s difficult because I’m at a computer all day. I really need to take a week of vacation, get out of the apartment, and just completely cut myself off from all this. Once I get the job situation resolved I may do that.

  71. I just occasionally glance at twitter. Maybe once every few weeks.

  72. It’s the pessimism, really. I’m either constitutionally unable to hold darkness for long, or I’ve successfully trained my brain to run away from it.

Yep, it’s where all THE most negative people in the planet all converge to have a gripe session.
I try to stay away because it reeeeeally gets me down after a while and I start to feel sad….because honestly, most people in the world aren’t even listening to these tools.
Even Fox news will say “So and So is saying this happens!!!!”
I’ll look at the tweet and it has like two likes and I’m like wtf Fox? STop it
so I don’t read that place anymore because all of them are just about the clicks
    No thanks
I prefer to live in my Polyanna world

  73. Speaking of which, have you guys heard about dopamine detox? It’s a good idea to do once in a while. I probably really need to get to it, I’m at the point where I can hardly read a real book anymore.

    Do tell?
I’ve been practicing meditation and it has really helped me chill, but I’d like to know what you’re talking about.
also, cutting out sugar and white flour has helped me considerably.
    Especially because I’m pre-diabetic
Weird thing, it’s not from being overweight. Doctor said I just have a “true glucose intolerance” I’m like, I don’t even know what that means other than my sugar gets into the 50s AFTER I eat sugar

  74. Point being…cutting out the garbage really stabilizes the mood

  75. Deleted negative comment. How about suggestions on what Mr. RFH and Mini-me should cook this week, because I wasn’t as organized as Beasn in getting meals done ahead of time.

  76. Oh lord…if it were up to my guy to cook for me, I’d get a loooooooooooot of mac n cheese

  77. I’d be cooking roasts every day. And taco meat.

  78. You should probably hire leon to come be your personal chef

  79. Deleted negative comment. How about suggestions on what Mr. RFH and Mini-me should cook this week, because I wasn’t as organized as Beasn in getting meals done ahead of time.

    Cook up some steaks
    Tacos
    Roast beef
    Stews
    Roasted chicken thighs
    braised carrots
    roasted asparagus
    roasted potatoes
    sauted green beans
    mashed potatoes

  80. I figured a lot of grilling, because it’s meat and fire, so he likes that. Yesterday, I showed Mini-me how to make an onion and mushroom gravy, and Mr. RFH grilled hamburger patties, so we had salisbury steak with the gravy and a cucumber/tomato salad with Italian dressing.

  81. I was productive this morning with a dump run and mowing the lawn. Paula just left to take Ben to camp and mow up there. They spent 15 minutes getting his Jeep top down and left. They were gone for 10 minutes when the skies opened up and dumped a lot of rain. Thankfully it ended in a few minutes.

  82. It’s almost like it had nothing to do with the Confederacy after all.

    Or black lives.

  83. Everyone knows that the KKK was founded by radical Catholic slave-owners.

  84. Pepe, was smoking preggo wearing her mask outside, while smoking?

  85. We have a fellow hostage that smoked while pregnant. Met her on one of our meetups. Her doctor told her it was better for her to continue than to try and quit and deal with a lot of anxiety. Her kid was born healthy, so? I dunno.

  86. We just started streaming Yellowstone this AM. Pretty good show. Sunday afternoons are reserved for watching golf. Not playing, watching. Today is better than yesterday. 104 with 10% humidity. Our electric bill doubled last month. Thanks work ordered quarantine. (I was paid and continued to bonus, but that isn’t the point! We’re able to pay off the Condo and the new car this month. It isn’t fair to small business that the governor has this much power to pick economic winners and losers)

  87. Peej, my mom doesn’t smoke or drink. Her Dr recommended one glass of red wine a day when she was pregnant with my sister. Recommended the same for my brother and me. *Hic* We’re fine.

  88. oooh I appreciate your Yellowstone opinion. I’ve been thinking about checking it out

  89. Smoker had her mask pulled down. A friend saw a guy who poked a hole through his mask so he could smoke.

  90. Nobody wants to be a dick and just not wear one, it seems like.

See Team America on dicks, pussies, and assholes. Sometimes, the world needs a dick.

  91. Pepe, I saw video of a gamer in Las Vegas. 3 drinks in front of him. Lighting up and smoking with a mask. It was pretty funny.

  92. Leon, people that are dissing our current anthem aren’t happy with the Team America alternative. Fuck yeah

  93. Peej, someone posted a Yellowstone gif about tourists and buffalos and it piqued my interest. Really worth the watch. I already cried. I don’t usually cry. Unless a dog is involved.

  94. If you don’t like the Star Spangled Banner or Fuck Yeah, GTFO.

  95. If we’re going to replace the national anthem, the only acceptable replacement is Free Bird.

  96. Also acceptable:

  97. Or, better

  98. Rocking it, Leon

  99. Baseball games would never end before 2AM with Free Bird as the National Anthem!

  104. Inna-Gadda-Davida with organ solo

  105. We are scouting bug out places in KS and NE. Scott’s Gila Plan has been ruined by GOV WUHAN.

  106. I might be too old to get there.

    I need a new plan.

North might be better. Lots of abandoned real estate.

  107. Just squat on an abandoned university campus until you can claim it for your compound.

  108. Alaskan outback isn’t going to be invaded by zombies anytime soon, and you can trade with Russia or Canadia.

  109. Jimes we’ll be a little short…. friggen wiser spent a metric fucktonne on midget Thai trannies last quarter for his annual coming out cotillion.

  110. Being in South Dakota was epically cool. We’re scouting NE and KS. Work and life related. NM is done. Fork it.

  111. The problem with bug out properties is the locals. If you think that in a time of crisis they are going to be enthused by the arrival of relative newcomers, that would be a mistake.

I’m going to stay in place and start my own Civil Defense Team.

  112. We’re planning on buying acres of flyover so that nobody gives a fuck about locals

  113. Dan was annoyed by my calling out Trump/American flags as we traveled from Deadwood to CO Springs.

  114. What is the optimum distance for a bug out place? I mean, if you can’t get there pretty quick to hole-up, make improvements on your days off or check on your stuff it seems like it is too far. If the shit hits the fan and you have a two day drive I just don’t see it happening.

  115. If shit hits the fan I’m going to your mom’s place. Not that I think it will be safe there, I just think that there won’t be a line, finally.

  116. Yeah, remember when the were stopping people at the state lines for kung flu? Makes it a problem to get to your refuge.

  117. Prohibition was a non-factor in the UP. No way in. Plenty of islands and hiding places. Just sayin’.

  118. Yeah, remember when the were stopping people at the state lines for kung flu? Makes it a problem to get to your refuge.

oooh where did that happen? That’s scary

  119. North might be better. Lots of abandoned real estate.

    Go to Detroit!
No one will look for anyone there

  120. PJ jokes, but it’s not like the cops are coming in. Detroit is huge and basically deserted at this point if you aren’t near a major piece of real estate.

  121. I put an alarm system in for a guy who’s bug out place was bumfuck nowhere, Ohio. He had a house in Columbus and the cabin was 1.5hrs away to the turn-off, then two tire tracks .75 mile into the woods, crossing the same creek 3 times. He had a well and septic system, good sized truck garden and a stocked pond, electric and phone lines dropped over the ridge from another access road. He couldn’t leave anything nice in the cabin, locals robbed him blind during the week when it was empty, they drove up in 4-wheelers with carts and cleaned him out more than once. His alarm would go off, sheriff would get the call, but even if he responded (not often) they’d be long gone. We put up cameras and they stole them too, along with the DVR.

  122. Governor Wuhan thinks she has the power. Her border BS SUCKS. Peej, our See you next Tuesday Gov has tried to enforce interstate travel from the beginning.

  123. Buckeyes got to Buckeye. We were considering CO, until we weren’t

  124. “What is the optimum distance for a bug out place?”

Depends on what happens and which way the wind is blowing.

We are downwind from NYC, and have water to the south and east.

North, far and fast is our only hope.

  125. A dirty bomb in NYC would probably kill 5 million people after accounting for fallout and cancers.
