Welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day.
New beginnings this weekend. Rocketboy and FDIL have been dating for 4.5 years, two of those years long distance. Mr. RFH and I could sympathize – I alternated work and school while we were dating. This song reminds me of those days of leaving here around 8 AM and getting to Mr. RFH around 4:30 PM. I made the trip often enough and stopped at the same gas station in Cleveland, TN that one employee recognized me (or my car, it was a weird car) and would have a large coffee with two sugars ready for me when I got out of the ladies room.
Now for the hunks. Ryan Reynolds welcome.
Fake redhead for Carin.
Javelin.
On a beach somewhere.
Labeled this one “not Sulu”
Last, but not least.
Thank you for your attention, thanks to Pirate’s Cove for the linky love every week, and y’all have a good day.

On my way to work yesterday I could hear an NPR host practically squeeing with joy about how we’ve officially been in a recession since sometime in February. She was interviewing an economist who described the different types of recovery and, like all practitioners of the mystic arts, confessed he didn’t know which path we’d take. I’m sure he hoped for the one that resulted in Trump losing in November but to his credit he kept up appearances.
Anyway, I just took it as economic news but as the article above mentions, there’s yet another tool to toss in the gears of the machine.
wakey wakey
What strikes me is how easily people, institutions and corporations kneel and bow to the mob, in the hopes they’ll get killed last.
This. Plus “hostage videos” comment from Phat last night. That’s what it is.
Generally hostage videos require a captor. For the life of me, I have no idea why you’d make one voluntarily. But here we are…what a stupid time to be alive.
Healthcare sector update: Hospitals that opened are now at 90% of pre covid levels.
Only a decrepit, corrupt, senile, hair sniffing, grifter can save us from the economic recovery.
Gone with the Wind is no longer on HBO because of what?
Didn’t a black woman win an Oscar in that movie?
Leftism does not equal rational thought.
I wish they would have used the Ghana funeral dancers for Floyd, that’s the only thing that would have made me watch a minute of it.
They had this and you missed it

hahaha, nice one, scott.
I mean, how sad.
If you don’t watch anything else, watch Leo Terrell trigger Cornell West on Hannity.
Wow.
lol
First
Noted police expert “george floyd’s brother” to testify before congress on police reform.
I am assuming MJ and others were being sarcastic when they said let them change names of bases and take down offending statues.
I know it’s sarcasm because any moron who has been paying attention knows it never stops there.
They tore down the Christopher Columbus statue and threw it in a lake.
Kneel
Oh good, Ben Crump will be there too.
That statue is part of MY history.
Fuck you, ignorant, losers.
I was serious, mare. Everyone will have to give on something. That one seems mild, compared to other things.
Jay, stop.
You really think they’re stopping there?
Just bend your knee a little bit. Just a little.
Sometimes, if you don’t bend your knee, they remove your leg. As I said, everyone will give up something, whether it’s voluntary or not.
See, I’ve got this cramp in my leg, so……
Why should I give up anything?
Because you’re a racist, mare.
Shelby Steele, actual civil rights activist, doesn’t think much of the current BLM movement.
Hmm, BLM movement, seems like it’s heavy one L

That statue is part of MY history.
You were Columbus’ side-piece when he got back from his voyage?
Yes.
Trump should say he supports defunding the police.
Lib cousin has a facedouche fundraiser going for ACLU for the past two days. 18 of her friends have liked it, but donations are still $0 (which would include cousin, if she had donated). Chortle. Virtue signaling is still free.
Jungkook, youngest member of BTS, is getting buff.
They literally never give on anything. We concede more ground every second.
False choice.
LOL Gone With the Wind #1 on Amazon.
I obtained an illegal copy of Song of the South many years ago. What’s next? The Little Rascals?
Sorry, had to throw that up to stay with the poat theme. He’s 23.
Saw the Crossfit business with the CEO stepping down because he didn’t take the knee. It’s all bullshit. Floyd-19, indeed.
Without any say in the matter, I lost the ability to tell my daughter that a man can’t marry another man without having to add a mountain of caveats to explain the difference between a legal fiction and a sacramental union.
Fuck them. Firebomb the Antifa “autonomous zone” and gun down anyone holding a brick at a “protest”.
I’m not sure we can tolerate much more of Leon’s intolerance.
The same people…
Protect me from offensive halloween costumes!
Defund the police!
Every nation suffers its fools, dying and dead nations indulge them.

We had a good run.
_______
This was EXACTLY my thought this morning. It’s over.
I’m not bending the knee. Take my leg, it’s not great anymore. Take my livelihood, it barely pays to work anyway. Take my life…it wasn’t worth much.
Never saw myself as destined for martyrdom, but eh, it’s like my other options are that great these days…
I was able to fall asleep last night with minimal trouble around 11. Woke up at 4 am and couldn’t fall back to sleep. That, on top of thinking about my upcoming appt, in a few hours, has my plumbing roiling. Hopefully that will be all worked out before I have to leave.
I need a support pig.
Your life is worth plenty, Tim. Get a support gorilla to box your ears for saying otherwise.
Never saw myself as destined for martyrdom, but eh, it’s like my other options are that great these days…

I think of St Mark Ji Tianxiang often. Especially now that the Glorious Revolution looks like it’s begun.
I am assuming MJ and others were being sarcastic when they said let them change names of bases and take down offending statues.

I was actually trying to see the other side of this argument so I tried to think it through a bit but the end game will never end. The goal posts will always shift.
They want us dead. Not renamed streets or statues removed.
everyone is worth more than they think they are. Even to leftists. They just don’t realize it yet.
Who will be there to pay their excessive taxes, at the least?
well, the kangaroo court has started, with Jerry Nadler at the mic.
Beasnsnsnssns, is your operation Friday or consult?
In the meantime, there’s a wedding to celebrate this weekend, so I’m going to enjoy good company and try not to ugly-cry.
EVERYONE WEAR YOUR MASKS AT THE HEARING! I suppose, even if you are watching on TV.
Mare, today is a consult. Won’t know the exact when until then. If he can fit me in Friday, so be it.
MMT says taxes don’t matter, Jay. The purpose of taxes is to keep money supply in check and keep velocity slightly slower, but they serve primarily as tools of behavior modification through a series of carrots and sticks. They can pay for anything because they can always print more.
This is precious. Go eff yourself, HBO:
I keep hearing about how horrible Covid 19 is in Texas, it’s ON THE RISE!
yeah, MMT. Still sounds like alchemy to me. Sure worked in Zimbabwe! And Germany in the 30s!
What step of the Cultural Revolution are we on, Car in?
MMT is cargo cult bullshit. Come to think of it, most things are nowadays.
Good News Everyone!
NuGet (source for computer code) supports Black Lives Matter!
People get code from something other than StackOverflow?
Ugh. Woke up yesterday feeling like crap. Had a rough night, and still feeling bad this morning.
I’m sure it’s just a garden variety summer cold.
Went to a wedding last weekend in Oklahoma – it was just beautiful. Probably picked something up while I was there.
People get code from something other than StackOverflow?
All the packages on NuGet are based off the code the programmers found on StackOverflow.
Give ’em an inch and they’ll take a mile. Success just encourages them.
36 degrees again this morning. Power was out for 6 hours last night and it’s been flickering every once in a while all morning. Penelope is calling the power company to see what’s up.
We are in the early stages of the cultural revolution.
Since we had been directed to oppose the rightists, we did. After more than a decade of continuous political struggle, the intellectuals knew the drill. We all took turns persecuting each other. This went on until the Socialist Education Movement, which, in my view, was a precursor to the Cultural Revolution.
Beasn, I just got around to reading your link. I know Tim Gordon from YouTube where he often does long-form discussions with Dr Taylor Marshall. They are both “Rad Trads” and Marshall in particular has gone around the bend trying to justify his stance on Communion on the tongue (he alleges that it was and is common in Middle Eastern cultures for the host to hand-feed his guests, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright), but they are solid conservatives and very far from racists.
Alex, Carin, Hotspur, MJ … anyone of you got a post in ye for tomorrow? Just not into it at the moment.

I did not know there were Chinese saints.
I can poat.
Hundreds, iirc. A lot of them nameless simply because we don’t know them but by the event of their martyrdom. Japanese, too.
https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/saint/st-paul-miki-and-companions-139
That’s the group of Japanese saints I was thinking of. I’ve actually seen an older Japanese horror movie where the “traditional” misunderstanding of Christianity was depicted, complete with lich-like “resurrected” antagonist as basically lords of the undead.
Thanks Carin
Wow, Dan Bongino is testifying before congress too.
Marie Harf and Donna Brazile on Fox. They really complement Juan Williams, Cornell West, and other idiot libs that spout platitudes.
The spread of Christianity to Asia is one of the gaps in my knowledge. I went to a Catholic HS and college but most of the religious history I learned was where the hell the proddies came from. That was HS. In college the general studies or core curriculum was more of a philosophy/ethics track and at some point I remember a hard core leftist teaching liberation theology. He was awful but it was a required course where my fellow science majors just checked the box on to get it over with
Miss King taught Religion 101 and 102 and that was a good course. OT, NT etc. Learned the books of the Bible and a lot of related history.
It’s only now, as an adult, I recognize that a lot of my teachers were socially awkward people
While perusing my usual blogs and whatnot this morning it occurred to me that the same folks who always clamor that “violence never solves any problems, it only makes them worse” every Fucking time the US used its military to promote its interest are all of a sudden totally down with violence as an effective means for promoting policy change. I’m finda turn the tables on some of these cunts.
The history of missionary work in the Orient is many parts tragedy with small triumphs in small doses. The Spaniards in the Philippines are a notable exception, though.
What just happened?
I got the blue screen if death, computer restarted and now it cant find any networks.
The “Automous Zone” in Seattle is literally already out of food.
Could be a hardware failure in the wifi, Scott. I’ve got one that poops out intermittently that I need to replace with an external antenna.
This is the dispensation required for gloryhole clubs like the one in Lansing to keep operating during lockdown.
try rebooting again, scott
But muh Biden! He’ll save us from Covid, a great depression, and Car in’s post tomorrow.
He’s being set up for an epic fail. The only person that can stop Trump is Trump.
I just attacked it with a hammer and a crowbar.
Nobody is fixing it now.
It’s been crashing a lot and its replacement has been on standby for about 6 months.
Oh look, Chris Wallace on Fox.
click
scott went Office Space on it
My post is going to be awesome. Probably.

It was only a matter of time before the protests came for “Paw Patrol.”
“Paw Patrol” is a children’s cartoon about a squad of canine helpers. It is basically a pretense for placing household pets in a variety of cool trucks. The team includes Marshall, a firefighting Dalmatian; Rubble, a bulldog construction worker; and Chase, a German shepherd who is also a cop. In the world of “Paw Patrol,” Chase is drawn to be a very good boy who barks stuff like “Chase is on the case!” and “All in a police pup’s day!” as he rescues kittens in his tricked-out S.U.V.
But last week, when the show’s official Twitter account put out a bland call for “Black voices to be heard,” commenters came after Chase. “Euthanize the police dog,” they said. “Defund the paw patrol.” “All dogs go to heaven, except the class traitors in the Paw Patrol.”
Paw Patrol is literally set in a city with a black female mayor who’s consistently wacky but competent, honest, and good-hearted.

Besides, they won’t drop Chase. They’ll just make him gay and kill the golden goose that is PP merchandising.
The “class traitors”? Think about that.
SAT CONG
It’s a show where the plot could be helping baby turtles crawl to the sea over a newly-built road near the beach by setting up traffic cones.
But yeah, the dog cop is #problematic and needs to be canceled.
Went to work for a meeting today. Only been three months. First shift on friday. I hope I remember how to do this.
It was wonderful seeing everyone.
But yeah, the dog cop is #problematic and needs to be canceled.
The producers should say “fuck it” and have him maul a BLM protester to death.
When I was a kid we watched Soupy Sales. He had White Fang and Black Tooth.
Was that racist?
I get to go back to work on Friday. Dan is telling people the questions I answered “Yes” to. Everyone wants a paid 2 week vacation.
The producers should say “fuck it” and have him maul a BLM protester to death.
I would watch the shit out of that.
Dan is researching “Bug Out” places. He just asked me about Liberal, KS. DID I GO THERE? Fuck yeah
Tombstone, like the pizza
Nascar banned the confederate flag, and has a Black Lives Matter car
How is that NOT racist?
Good job NASCAR.
Don’t listen to your fans, bow down to those who make fun of you.
Same goes for the NFL, who will probably ban the American flag.
If this keeps up I will give up on television.
People still watch TV?
Scott, we have given up on the NFL. We have given up on MLB. We have golf and NHL right now.
Ultimate fighting.
I never watched sports. I dropped TV when Dexter ended.
I don’t know what that is.
Sounds gay.
Popular cable show about a serial killer as a protagonist.
I’m really looking forward to the kneeling, and the comeback tour of Kaepernick.
Country needs an enema.
Big Hero 6. Watch it. Still team MCU, but this is good
Regarding the anarchist takeover of the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle, I have a couple of thoughts:
1. It’s a cool, funky area that has some nice clubs and restaurants, been there many times.
2. They produce NOTHING.
3. Blockade them and starve them out. Let out any who want to leave the perimeter peacefully through, but no food or water comes in. Cut off all power. Will take one week. This is basic strategy 101, only an elected politician could screw it up.
Do any people have residences in that area, phat? Are there apartment buildings or what?
Lots of retail on the street level. Lots of apartments above. These people are trapped. This sucks…
The area where the anarchists have set up appears to be in the crappier part of that area.
ChrisP’s description matches my recollection.
Wow, that blows. I wonder how many of them are supporting this bullshit and how many are pissed they can’t call the cops anymore.
Deirdre’s entreaties relaxed Patty.
*snif* *snif*
Bleah. Stale. Smells like a CHAZ hippie on Hotspur’s mom.
My son live in Capitol Hill, moved there a year and a half ago. He lives in a gated apartment and has been working from home since March. I think he’s outside the area where they are holed up, but it can’t be a good situation.
it can’t be a good situation.
—–
Agree. Despite the portrayal of the liberal cities as 100% fruits and nuts I’m sure there’s a good percentage of normal people who just want to live their lives and be left alone.
If I lived anywhere near there I’d have my go bag packed and ready, download all critical documents on a thumb drive and be ready to leave at a moment’s notice (among other preps such as not living there in the first place)
We lived in Baltimore until he was 10, then mid-sized midwestern towns after that. He said he missed the city and has always loved rain, so he moved out to Seattle when he got the chance. He loves it, but he went lib on us after he got married. She probably turned him. They are divorced, but he had already started looking for jobs there.
I would think it would be lonely, although Phat is right: it is a cool and funky place with lots of restaurants and small shops. I don’t think I could get used to the homeless sleeping on the edge of the sidewalk, though.
New poat!
