The Cars

We’ve already had a couple of Cars songs in Jay’s post as a tribute to Ric Ocasek but since I’m a bigger fan of the group I’m going to carry it over to this post. My older brother and I used to share a room and he’d listen to his transistor radio at night after lights out. Usually WBCN which didn’t suck back in the 70’s. One night he told me to listen closely because a really good group was going to be broadcast live from the Paradise Club in Boston.

I usually conked out within 10 minutes after laying my head on the pillow but I managed to listen to most of the concert that night. Of course my brother had the foresight to be rolling his tape recorder during it and I listened to that cassette many times. This video is from the heyday of MTV (again, before they sucked)

I’m hoping to keep my truck for many more miles. It’s got just 165,000 on it and they replaced the frame a couple of years ago. Hell, I’ve had that truck longer than I was married the first time around, kind of like it! (My version doesn’t have the pimped out rims.) Cars #6?

I have been checking out lakefront homes to rent near us.

It’s actually a pretty inexpensive vacation.

This year I wished we had done that with the number of times we actually went to camp

    https://berniesanders.com/issues/housing-all/

  6. This is good:

    As president, Bernie will:

    Weatherize homes.
Perform energy efficiency upgrades to make buildings more energy efficient and lower energy bills.
Provide grants for low- and moderate-income families and small businesses to invest in weatherizing and retrofitting their homes and businesses.
Because our mobile home stock is leaky and often very old, we plan to replace all mobile homes with quality zero-energy modular homes.
    Electrify homes.
Provide grants for low- and moderate-income families to invest in cheaper electricity for these needs. A federal mandate through the Department of Energy will ensure that all new construction and wealthy homeowners meet our electrification goals.

  7. Through the Green New Deal, we will electrify and decarbonize all public housing by conducting deep energy retrofits including appliances, power, and heating. We will also ensure that public housing has quality, shared community spaces to ensure every public housing complex has the capacity to serve as a community resiliency center.

  8. Pie in the sky by and by …

  9. zero-energy modular homes

It’s a real shame we don’t teach physics anymore.

  10. No lesberu?

  11. At this point all the candidates are just playing buzzword bingo.

  12. Just in time for your secret santa needs.

  13. A de-“carbonization” program that referenced modular homes rather than modular reactors is a joke to any thinking person.

Plus, you know what’s a really handy way of storing energy for quick utilization, with potentially very energy-dense applications? Long chains of carbon atoms with hydrogen atoms attached thereupon. Nature figured this out literal eons ago and we haven’t beat it with anything in terms of energy density… well, except for the things we dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

  14. Cool article, Alex. I wonder if the full study included a fracture analysis, or if they went just far enough to get a job from Bezos.

  15. We should decarbonize the H2.

  16. The crazy thing about Bernie is that he actually believes his bullshit.

  17. The crazy thing about Bernie is that he actually believes his bullshit.

That’s because he’s very stupid and uneducated.

  18. He’s forgotten the adage “Never Go Full Bernie”.

  19. This is his last shot, he must be looking at AOC and thinking his flying freak flag is his best bet.

  20. Wow, Bern really resents those poor people using up energy. Because if poverty is known for anything, it is excessive energy usage.

Unlike, say, someone who has several homes and takes jets all over the fucking place.

You know what’s another way to save energy? Congresspeople and Senators no longer need to be in a central place to cast their ballots anymore. Let them stay in their home districts and States and do that shit electronically instead of traveling to DC. Also, cancel all their little travel junkets that we’re paying for, too.

  21. Ban air conditioning within the District. Set a good example for the rest of us.

  22. He both wants to upgrade poor folks houses to make them energy efficient, but then also give them $$$ to pay for the energy they use … which … anyone who knows human nature realizes that will result in a complete lack of concern as to how much energy they actually use. Free heat? Turn it up – open the window if it gets too hot.

  23. Here’s another thing about poor people: you’re not going to get their votes by promising to make them more efficient with energy. It is to laugh.

  24. He’s promising everyone in a trailer park a new house. That’s the gambit.

  25. He’s just promising the poor folks a bunch of free shit. That energy conservation stuff is for his greenie base.

  26. Echo and the Bunnymen is a good group too.

    People are Strange

The Lost Boys. Jami Gertz, rawr.

  27. It will work with some. Sean’s penis chick – three kids, no daddy anywhere (at least not in her house, helping her financially) has just the hardest time making ends meet with her crappy job. SOMEONE needs to help her.

And – it’s almost as if people are completely ignorant of the actual programs out there, because she’s moving into an “income based” apartment. WHich means, she only pays what she can afford – which is amazingly little. I think she’s getting a multi-room apartment for $350.

Honestly, if you’re homeless, etc, it’s because you are completely inept at even finding out the programs that are available, or you are really a complete fuck up (drug user, or chronically unemployed because you keep quitting).

Don’t have a place to live? Move in with family or friends. Get back on your feet. Figure your SHIT out.

Housing isn’t a right. So sick of this bullshit.

  28. *questions jimbro’s fandom of The Cars.

  29. He’ll move us all into energy efficient habitation pods stacked fifty high in our ultradense cities.

Bernie, of course, will continue to live in a luxury house in the countryside.

  30. All those efficient apartments will free up the suburbs, so they can buy up summer dachas.

  31. I say we start referring to their homes and belongings with their Soviet counterparts. Makes it more real. Conservative woke, if you will.

  32. He’s just promising the poor folks a bunch of free shit.

I wasn’t sure where “large houses” end and McMansions begin, so I went with 3000. If we want to kill McMansions, we could add a tax on more than two roof shapes or pitches.

  47. Wait, electrifying homes at the same time as you’re crippling generation capacity? Umm…yeah, go with that.

  48. s, we could add a tax on more than two roof shapes or pitches.

  50. Sorry Car in. I might be able to slip in a newfie tax credit to help you out.

  51. Nobody needs more than 2 sets of clothes. Remember when Hillary was constantly modeling Mao’s new Fat Slug line of clothing? We all get to enjoy it for free because clothing is a right!

  52. Carin, as an enemy of the revolution, your house will be seized and ‘redistributed’ more equitably. Bernie thanks you in advance for keeping up the maintenance on his new Summer lake dacha.

  53. Once they find out they can’t get good internet at my house, they’ll lose interest. There should be a tax credit for that hardship.

  54. Why do clothes need colors? Think of all the productivity wasted on individual color tastes. Pastel blue is enough.

We need some way to distinguish those who are Party members in good standing from the masses.

…aaaaannnnddd that’s called your energy bill.

No one needs more than 2000 sq ft. Let’s kill the McMansions in the same stroke.

    Ain’t a case of what I “need”. It’s a case of what I want. And 3000 sq ft. isn’t a McMansion, it’s . . . comfortable.

Citizens will be taxed per child. Non-citizens of course cannot be taxed, but will be permitted to vote.

  67. I think we need to workout some arithmetic where children only lead to excessive taxes if they come from an intact family. Single mom with 6 babies and 4 baby daddies need to be protected. The behavior encouraged, because they are always down for the revolution.

  68. 6 children raised w/o a dad … those kids are their future base.

  69. WHERE’S OUR CHART?

Made one last week, though it was kinda boring (shut up, shut up).

Howdy Geoff! Long time no see.

Yeah, life’s gotten a little more demanding lately.

  70. Non-citizens of course cannot be taxed, but will be permitted to vote.

…and will be the only entities allowed to vote, since citizens enjoy too much privilege.

  71. Cool. Delivery tracking of my new sports bra shows me where the TRUCK is on the road.

  74. I can’t decide if Dana Perino likes Greg Gutfeld or just tolerates him

    Either way it’s hilarious.

  75. I read the first 5 chapters of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen’s Peace of Soul yesterday.

    So far, highly recommended.

Followup question: anyone ever get a tip from a Clinton or an Obama?

  77. Howie Carr loves to tell stories about John Kerry or Ted Kennedy stiffing restaurants by saying their “people” will handle the bill (which they never do) or signing a napkin like that’s worth money.

  86. The crazy thing about Bernie is that he actually believes his bullshit.

I doubt it. He just knows how f*cking stupid, lazy, and greedy his constituents are. My sister voted for the JEF — the second time — because something something belief he was going to crack down on credit card companies and something cancel cc debt. (she had a bad habit of just paying the minimum or skipping payments. Hey, here’s an idea, cut those fuckers up. You can’t pay cash, you can’t afford it. I told her one year I was going to buy her a good pair of scissors.)

  87. it’s so true, beasn. Except Bernie. He does believe it. In the face of opposing verifiable evidence, he believes the shit he’s spouting.

Andrew Yang does too. He’s a smart guy. It just that they believe in stuff that isn’t so.

    Someone famous said that.

  88. So they are like French kings in that they believe they are chosen by God to tell us how to live but they don’t have to?

Nah, they are just assholes like their constituents. We’re going to pass all the bad shit to take down those who are truly hardworking (better).

  89. People tend to believe all things conform to their experiences, without examining whether what they are familiar is truly representative of the world in general. This is also why libertarians are so clueless.

  90. Not all the French kings were like that. St Louis (Louis XIV), for example.

But yeah, Yang reminds me of a lot of PhDs I’ve worked with.

  91. I’ve got an appointment this afternoon to practice run a wedding hairdo. Going to have an ‘updo’ done. If I don’t like it, I’m going to bite the bullet and have it all chopped off.

  92. Shave it, beasn, go Sinead O’Connor

  93. >>>Yang reminds me of a lot of PhDs I’ve worked with.

He wasn’t even a stoner, just a leftist who couldn’t see through the bullshit of his preferred politics.

  106. Same guy opined that Ted Cruz might have the Constitution memorized, but clearly didn’t understand it.

The guy grew up on a farm, owned guns, but PhD and atheism (he went to a Black Science Man event while I was there) had rotted his brain.

  107. lib on facebook is a PhD too. Their heads get a lot harder.

  110. I actually doubt she does. The other form of sodomy is generally more lucrative and you don’t have to get undressed. Given the quantity of clients she had, it’s almost certain that she had to consider logistics.

  111. People tend to believe all things conform to their experiences, without examining whether what they are familiar is truly representative of the world in general. This is also why libertarians are so clueless.

I call it the “academic” worldview: you build a model of how the world should work and then try to cram everything into it.

  112. Harris strikes me as someone who doesn’t particularly like sex. More likely she just does it grudgingly because she’s getting something in return.

  113. Right, and it seems like grudging oral would be less work than grudging anal. And require fewer diapers.

  114. I have a nephew who smoked pot everyday in High School and is now a schizophrenic. I believe THC ruined his developing brain. He is low functioning and a burden on the state …California.

  115. I have a cousin working on the same thing in his early 20s by vaping CBD-oil-homebrew-cocktails.

    He coughs a lot.

  116. It’s also that they assume the way they think is “normal” and anything else is “aberrant”. Even when it’s exactly flipped. Their sense of human nature is totally fucked.

  117. Plenty of info in medical journals about how pot increases risk of mental issues — depression, paranoia, schizo, bipolar.

But yeah, let’s legalize all the drugs.

  118. This is where I have a problem with the libertarian, “do what you want to your body” attitude. The implication is that if you destroy yourself we’ll simply let you die. But as a society… we won’t. We will end up paying to support you the rest of your life, either through welfare or through prison, once you start committing crimes.

  119. Smoke pot to give you depression, paranoia and other mental disorders, and then take mushrooms and LSD to cure yourself!

  120. Smoke pot to give you depression, paranoia and other mental disorders, and then take mushrooms and LSD to cure yourself!

I see a viable business plan here.

  121. “THC being worse than alcohol because it stayed resident in body tissues for so much longer, and caused more metabolic damage by virtue of that.”

Id really like to see the study that produced that statement. My problem with it only being that “studies” on the medical impact of cannabis as a whole , (much less the metabolic long term impact of THC) are few. Most studies have been short term. Im certainly not saying I disagree with the premise, Im more worried about the impact to my metabolism. Finally, Alcohol is metabolic devastating poison short or long term.

Interview with have gun will travel job went well. They are checking my references now and next step is to interview with Regional Manager.

  122. Coming in to work on the northeast side of Houston today was a mistake. Parking lots are filling with water and flooding cars. Thankfully my truck is in a high spot, so the water just got to the bottom of the axles. Some of the poor folks working the shop floor have cars full of water now. Place should have been emptied when the water started coming up, but we’ve had a few very similar false alarms in the past.

Now we’re all basically stuck at work until the water comes down. I’m at least an hour from Mrs. Peel and the kiddos.

  123. The body has an existing metabolic pathway for alcohol, since it’s made briefly by normal energy utilization within mammal cells. THC simply has no comparable path, which is why it gets sequestered into fat, hair, nails, and so on. The body does something very analogous with heavy metal poisoning, and there are known long-term effects on the nervous system for that.

  124. I’m not saying ethanol is a good thing to consume, only that a healthy human can endure it on a chemical level far better than THC.

  125. I’m sure this will work out great.

  126. We have different speeds, and we argue over it constantly, but it’s better than feeling unheard and alone and that you have to scurry in the shadows.

Normal couples argue about money or whether to get a dog. Those arguments sometimes end in divorce. I’m sure this is much less risky.

  127. Near as I can tell, the practical upshot is that he wanted to bang lots of hos and his wife wanted to keep her nice house.

  128. Ick. She was stupid to go along with that nonsense. THis is what happens when you discard traditional marriage roles and duty and self improvement.

Yes, men and women are different speeds. That’s a challenge to both of us; to women to be more giving, and to men to master themselves. It’s called the art of devotion, you dim dishonorable bastard.

  129. A guy who wasn’t rich and famous would just develop a porn habit or — maybe — realize that his wife and women in general are not merely objects that serve to satisfy his disordered appetite.

  130. ugh, hope the water goes down soon, will.

We had flooding in our town too. i worked a couple miles from home, but I had to go way up north or south to avoid water, and wound up taking 30-60 mins to get there.

  131. Doesn’t Iowa flood pretty badly every ten years or so?

    Stop being so flat, Iowa!

  132. Have you heard about the guy that asked for donations for Busch Light during Gameday in Ames? He kept getting donations, and decided to donate to the Childrens Hospital at the rival school (U of I). That’s the one that the crowd waves to, it overlooks the stadium in Iowa City. He was up to $600 when he decided to donate it. It’s over $40k now. Busch Light and Venmo have said they will match his donation. It will be open until the end of the month.

    https://www.kcci.com/article/man-with-busch-light-sign-now-has-dollar44000-for-university-of-iowa-childrens-hospital/29114219

$20 was donated to Venmo for Busch Light.

  133. yes we do. Right now the flooding is in the Dakotas. It’s wiped out farms all summer, and it’s flooding again. Interstate along the Missouri river was closed for a long time, and wrecked a lot of roads.

  134. Have you considered digging some ditches? Culverts? Man-made lakes?

  135. Michigan gets a lot of rain in Spring and early Summer, but it all drains into aquifers and lakes.

  136. you aren’t fed by runoff from multiple states.

  137. There are 2 major rivers, one on each side.

  138. And it’s the south, in particular Louisiana, where there are no ditches.

  139. No, we share a freshwater ocean with another country.

But still, seems like some drainage is in order in Iowa.

  140. Idiots.

Join the National Climate Strike here at 3pm Friday 9.20.19 at Ames City Hall. ISU For Bernie folks will begin driving people out to Ames City Hall from campus as early as 1pm, with a sign making activity at 2pm at the United Church of Christ. Join us if you can!

  141. This is for college and high school students.

  142. It’s not the drainage, it’s the outlet, and the plugs. I think a lot is due to urban development.

  143. Dig ditches to MN and MO. Like, right up to the border.

  144. If the cunts want to go to a climate strike, why don’t they fucking walk, or take their dickass bikes?

  145. Forward thinking states like Michigan figured out how to use their fresh water for drinking and recreation. Backwards states try to get rid of it.

  146. I think the Ice Age had more to do with that than the people of Michigan. We got everything that was scraped off.

  147. BTW, the donations to Venmo for Busch Light is $100k. Matching donations put it at $300k.

  148. Always easy to donate to a Children’s Hospital

  149. Fuck children’s hospitals. Why can’t they just go to the regular hospital? Goddamn spoiled brats.

  150. Hey everybody, Hotspur’s back!

  151. “Children are not small adults” is the party line. And it’s true as far as medicine is concerned. For vaping, swearing and pooping at the wrong time less true.

  152. Some adults really are large children, though.

  153. No flooding here. We had a good Spring, and our ranch got some decent rain, but there are huge areas around here that got hardly anything. A friend south of Socorro has gotten .4″ since March. There are a bunch of ranches that didn’t grow any grass. They’ll have to find pasture somewhere, or sell their cows. Seems to get drier and drier every year.

  154. Whatever could be happening here? Crossfit?

    https://tinyurl.com/yxqt2255

  155. Yep. Pretty sure that’s crossfit.

  156. Local guy running against RL Feather. RL Feather supports AOC and GND. Local guy was promoting 45 and his visit to Rio Rancho. Local guy dropped a TLDR on a comment by a socialist on his FB page. I wonder if I have a Moron to vote for…

  157. “The body does something very analogous with heavy metal poisoning, and there are known long-term effects on the nervous system for that.”

I dont see how you get from A to B using your normally displayed logical mind. Just because the body does something analogous with heavy metals and heavy metals are known to be bad doesnt allow you to auto apply the same spectrum of results with a entirely different substance. I need to see some concrete verifiable EVIDENCE that my metabolism is more negatively impacted by the storage of thc remnants in my body fat than it is from exposure to ethanol. And what about those of us that have very little body fat? No storage area = goes out with the other waste. As a long term user I have a deep interest in this subject. My biggest problem with the substance is that we just don’t know because its never been allowed nor subjected to long term studies. I treat my depression, anxiety, and insomnia with it, which has relieved me from taking the corresponding medications that were prescribed for the conditions. It is very effective for me.

In regards to marijuana and the onset of schizophrenia. I ask this, What is the age range when schizophrenia normally presents in patients? And what is the age range of when people start experimenting with mind altering substances? There are two strains of cannabis. One is well known to present “paranoia”, mind racing, etc. The other not. Simple fact of the matter is that schizophrenia is no more or less prevalent now than it has been in the past. 75% of humans can use ANY substance in moderation with no negative impact. 25% cannot and are represented by the Abuser / Addicts. Should this substance be available for recreational use? Probably not, but then again, we have the availability of recreational alcohol and its well known, studied and documented the damage it does. Does this substance have medicinal value? I’ll go to my grave believing it does. I’ve personally witnessed on more than one occasion it reduction in symptoms in a profoundly brain injured friend. I’ve also enjoyed the benefit of its medicinal qualities on a personal level. How am supposed to logically square that considering the tone of the conversation?

We really need to study this substance and weigh the pro’s & cons just like has been conducted with…Morphine, Oxycontin, etc. As a side note, they administered Fentanyl to me in the ER my last go around. Administered incorrectly its insta death. But administered correctly it has a place in the physicians pain management tool box. If cannabis could be proven to have more negatives than positives I’d be willing to reduce my support of its use.

FINI. I’ve said all Im going to say about that.

PS. There isnt $20 anywhere around here.

PPS. This is all just brain candy to me so please dont interpret my response as combative or anything aggressive. Im just talkin heah.

  158. There’s a man who stands on the corner
With a sign that says “will work for beer”.
I always try not to notice
But I know he know I know he’s there.
    It’s always an awkward moment
    I don’t know why I care.
He’s riding high, eating good, and staying out of jail.

  159. Is TeeRoy channeling BiW?

  160. Will we be getting paid to read that much? whew!

  161. Is TeeRoy channeling BiW?

    Naw – he made paragraphs.

  162. BOOM! geoff from the top turnbuckle

  163. Kinda wish somebody would channel EddieBear.

I’m in that kind of mood.

  164. Does anyone know why it’s Brownface for Trudeau, and Blackface for everyone else?

  165. Theres someone who needs to make an appearance.

  166. Aw man, I miss Eddie Bear.

  167. Brown face isn’t a trigger…yet. Eli Wallech? Still under the radar.

  168. Here’s one for you Oso. I was interacting with BisW back in the pre Obama days on another blog. I hope he is doing well. Last I heard life had thrown him some serious punches.

  169. Just ordered a snow blower.

That means it wont snow until 2023.

  170. TeeRoy, ❤️. He is on FB. Yes, he is taking punches. He can still appreciate a TL;DR.

  171. The downside of Ace posting on the whole “Beto is a furry” thing is that some of the Horde need to have explained what a furry is.

  172. B.C., that’s not a downside, that’s half the fun.

  173. I have learned so much from the Moron/IB/Hostage trinity.

  174. Alcohol is different for a lot of reasons, especially if your ancestors had access to it far back enough that most of the problem drinking genes have already been filtered by it. Cannabis is still novel to nearly everyone, and the biochemistry really is different. I don’t doubt that it can be therapeutic in some limited contexts, particularly for a fully-formed, post-adolescent brain. Inhaling smoke is still pretty stupid from a raw mechanical perspective, so you’re almost certainly better off eating it or taking it as a tincture or infusion.

The vast majority of the users I’ve known haven’t been destroyed by it (though some have), but they have nearly all been enervated thereby. Pretty much every aspiring rapper who was a good boy and going to church was a user, and I very much doubt that that’s a coincidence.

  175. We have tickets for Jo Koy tonight. Dan” Are you going to dress like an adult?” Oso “D’uh”. (I have no idea how to dress like an adult)

  176. I see a viable business plan here.

    I’m in.

  177. Sweet. I’ve already got the books on shroom cultivation, and weed can’t be any harder than stevia.

  178. I’ll be the test Lab.

No, strike that. We’ll run the hallucinogens through MJ.

  179. Dare I ask, what is Jo Koy?

  180. I always kind of chuckle at the “which is worse for you” arguments; weed vs. alcohol. Neither is super harmful in moderation, just like neither is a healthy choice compared with abstinence.

That being said, I’d like to see Mare get totally wasted on both and do a compare and contrast video podcast.

  181. I have no comment on people who use pot recreationally, like alcohol, bathing a developing brain in it is not good. The studies I’ve seen cited don’t dispute that.

Have you all never heard of fetal alcohol syndrome? Anyone who thinks pot is better for a developing brain is being ridiculous.

  182. I meant to say… “adults who use”

Hotspur is a pothead and he seems fine. *cough*

  183. I think I read where our brain has receptors for CBD.

  184. We have “cannabinoid receptors” because we have endogenous neurotransmitters that match them. We found the response to cannabis prior to the endogenous chemicals, but they were already named.

  185. Which is one of the reasons it might be both therapeutic (if you have a problem with the stuff your body is supposed to be making) and problematic (if it’s interrupting your normal brain chemistry).

  186. I have an uncle who’s slowly committing suicide with a daily pot and alcohol cocktail, so there’s one life being destroyed. That side of my family does have a history of substance and behavioral addictions (and general eccentricity) so I also agree that there’s a genetic predisposition to these things.

  187. I was really hoping to just get the eccentricity. Hoping it would mask or maybe even be protective against the dementia the men in my dad’s family eventually succumb to. No such luck.

  188. Spock voice…fascinating.

  189. I’ve got two pot plants in my garden and apparently they are award winning. I have a gift.

    /sigh

  190. Mare, he is a Filipino/American comedian. As an Hawaiian American, you will identify. Netflix. Seattle is first. Honolulu is second. I expect his next stand up to be Las Vegas.

  191. I think that pot use is like alcohol use. Not bad if it’s not a habit, etc.

I do know that my wine affects my running pretty hard (cries softly into water glass). I don’t know if weed would have the same effect.

I know people who smoke a lot of weed and are super productive and successful. ALSO everyone one of the losers in my kitchen (dish area, and all the ones we cycle through weekly) smoke a LOT of pot.

  192. I am only talking about kids WITH DEVELOPING MINDS, who shouldn’t touch either.

  193. Thanks, Oso, I’ll check him out.

  194. ALSO everyone one of the losers in my kitchen (dish area, and all the ones we cycle through weekly) smoke a LOT of pot

Did anyone else immediately think she was talking about all of Erin’s suitors?

  195. Psi, I’m watching JoKoy as I type! Awesome!!!!!

    High fives Oslo!

  196. OFFS, autocorrect is a smelly ass!!

  197. Yes, Alex.

  198. Oso, this is hilarious!!

  199. I told you!

  200. Im with you all 100% on the developing mind position.

I recently viewed Chappelles new Netflix along with Bill Burrs latest offering. Neither knocked me out they seemed a bit forced to me. Im eyeballing Collin Quins latest and intend on viewing it soon. In the meantime I received my Ham Radio License study book so Im working on that and trying to find a gawdman job.

Please give my regards to BisW. I dont do facebook. We used to tear trolls up on the other blog and I enjoyed his writing immensely.

  201. I’ll let him know.

  202. We had some amazing potatoes at a restaurant recently. I think this is similar to how they were made. Dying to try it out.

  203. Paraplane flew over the farm a little bit ago. Low enough to wave to us.

  204. Practice run on the wedding hair. Available for a short time only. Felt like gal was pulling it out instead of styling it.

  205. I like it.

  206. Very lovely.

  207. Fighter jet flew over our place an hour or so ago. Not too low. Did a nice banked turn. It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen one here.

  208. Go for it, Beasnsnsnnsnsn. You won’t regret taking that extra step. It will look great in pictures. Make up too if you’re so inclined.

  209. Definitely a nice look!

  210. Thank you!

Mare, I think I may have them do my makeup too. If they have it without coconut or lanolins.
One less big thing to stress over that morning….after most likely having to bake some supplement desserts the day before (for those of us who can’t eat the cake due to food allergies/intolerances/vegans). I’ll stick with the fruit theme – berry cobbler and/or various fruit turnovers).

  211. Those potatoes look really good, lauraw! Definitely will be giving those a try. They look easy enough to make.

  212. I got a buddy who is a cop on one of the multi jurisdictional task forces cops do nowadays. He stopped by today after training and said they are spinning up for the DNC in Wisconsin as they are expecting rain. He said they mentioned conservative “groups” but seemed more interested in the leftists from a “likely to be the source of significant problem. Interesting Times.

  214. Teeroy, a friend was a dispatcher in Denver during the 2004 Dem convention. She had stories.

  215. Nothing that Leon hasn’t already said, but nice to hear it from the archbishop.
