HHD

Good morning, and welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day. They might be ghey, but they’re not sporting front holes. Let’s get started.

I don’t remember why I saved this one, except older, fit guy. Might be someone famous.

Someone tagged me on FB with a link to hunks, but it was in the middle of flight hardware delivery/delay/college visit/cousin visit/Dad fiasco/FDIL visit/SIL passing and now I can’t find it. Email it to me, please.

And more tractors.

Fake redhead for Carin.

Last but not least.

Thank you for your attention, thanks to Pirate’s Cove for the linky love, and y’all have a good day.

So, I got home around midnight last night. There’s a few pieces of mail left for me. I get around to opening a letter from my MIL just now.

    *tears open the seal*

*pulls out two small folded pieces of paper*

    ?

    *unfold*

Two cash register printout coupons for the local food store we like. No note, nothing but two coupons.

I used to just toss the BJ’s coupon books when they came in the mail. One time I was bored and opened it up to flip through. I had a lightbulb moment when I realized there were some pretty good discounts on stuff we actually buy. I’ve started ripping them out and actually using them.

    Weird diet update:

Last night I realized I was way under – both in protein (SYWM) and carbs. I had to eat three cups of cereal (staying awake, stuffing it in) and almost lost hope when I realized some dried figs would finish me off.

Still weigh the same, killing it at workouts and I slept like a freakin BABY.

They’ll put me in “fat loss” after my half marathon in October.

Today’s goal: 125 protein (that stays the same), 55g fat, 249 g carbs.

  32. Comment by Colorado Alex In Exile on August 22, 2018 9:18 am

Car in, I may have to buy that book. I’ve tried low carb, but it’s hard to maintain, especially now that I’m working downtown. The only places to eat within walking distance are sandwich shops, a burrito place, and a couple of taco joints.

  33. Comment by Hotspur on August 22, 2018 9:25 am

Ever since the term front-hole has come into the vernacular we haven’t heard a word from Cankles.

  34. Comment by Car in on August 22, 2018 9:26 am

It’s unfortunately not a book. I looked and looked. I think they used to have a book about it, but now it’s an app with a subscription. You get assigned coaches, etc. I imagine after doing it for a while (and getting to a place where you’re happy) you could drop it. It’s called Eat To Perform. I used my fitness pal (there is a free version of that) to track my macros, but ETP give me the guide lines and adjustments. There are about 5 of us at the gym using it.

They have facebook pages for support as well.

  35. Comment by terribletroy on August 22, 2018 9:29 am

I dont coupon much but I am the KING of the refill cup at the local stop n rob. I rarely pay full price for a fountain drink. Saves me about .25 a day. I figure I refill 300 days of yr. Been doing it consistently now for about 3 yrs.

  36. Comment by leoncaruthers on August 22, 2018 9:29 am

I had good luck with TKD (LeanGains style) and CKD (Anabolic Diet), Alex, but I had to be training hard. I’ll switch back to one of the two when I can get back to it. CKD was more binge-y and fun, but I’d basically pass out after a big plate of meat and potatoes/rice a couple of times on the weekend.

  37. Comment by Colorado Alex In Exile on August 22, 2018 9:29 am

You need to balance your chakras.

  43. Comment by Car in on August 22, 2018 9:47 am

And after doing Paleo/low carb/IF … I just like pretty much not having to think about food/ wanting food. Not the problem is always how to fit more food into my day comfortably.

The cereal incident last night was my fault. I honestly default to not eating/low carb – after years of doing that. So when I find myself having to eat cereal at night, it’s usually my fault. I don’t mind a cup at night. IT’s almost a dessert.

And I can’t deny that my sleeping has improved 10000 fold. Insomnia has long been an issue with me (since I was a teenager).

I’m fueling my body to do stuff, not chasing a look – that’s the mentality of the plan and perhaps it just affects my psyche better? I dunno. It’s working for me.

Activists at Colorado State University have created a “Feminist Fight Club” where participants will learn about “interrupting problematic behaviors” and confronting “subtle sexism” on the public university’s campus. Group members will also learn how to raise their testosterone by posing their bodies in certain ways.

    Smell the crazy.

  45. Comment by leoncaruthers on August 22, 2018 10:38 am

Another activity in which club participants take part is a drinking game devoted to ridding members of their tendency to use filler words and phrases. Each time a member uses a phrase like “um” or “kind of” others are supposed to point it out and make them take a drink.

Obama would get polluted drunk at that game.

Every time they talk about this shit, I laugh and laugh and laugh:

“Intersectionality proposes that all aspects of one’s identity need to be examined as simultaneously interacting with each other and affecting one’sprivilege and perception in society, and that these facets of identity cannot simply be observed separately.

As such, intersectionality is not simply a view of personal identity, but rather an overarching analysis of power hierarchiespresent within identities.

The framework of intersectionality also provides an insight into how multiple systems of oppression interrelate and are interactive.</blockquote)

    ”
I really enjoy how my spellcheck points out that "intersectionality" ISN'T A WORD.

there was a non-fatal skirmish between a bunch of red-necks and a blm protest group in western nys that got no media coverage.

evidently a blm group was protesting outside of a police station and a bunch of good ole boys rolled up on them and kicked the fuck out of them (literally).
oddly it took the police over 45 minutes to respond – the only ppl left milling around were some blm types and their compatriots that needed medical attention.

from the account i got from a person that saw some video of it, the blm clowns were bum-rushed and a bunch of teeth ended up on the pavement & a number of bloody faces were had. 1 blm guy ended up with a rib or two broken.

the lefties are gonna shit in the wrong pool one of these days and i fear a serious casualty will occur.

Hooray! Paula just called me to say she accepted a full time job at the smaller hospital. She gets the same hourly rate for 3 x 12 hour shifts and it’s every third weekend rather than every other at the big house. (She was FT there before she went pool and that sucked). She worked a 12 at the big hospital yesterday and was yelled at by disgruntled patients throughout her shift. I got an email from work yesterday that the census was high and it asked all physicians to either discharge people or delay doing cases to help out. The big hospital is the referral center for many many outlying places and this isn’t going away any time soon.

Hint, it’s the ongoing villification of white and conservatives. This doesn’t end well, I remember the lessons of the Jews during ww2 and I can goddamn guarantee that won’t be how this one plays out…

  90. Comment by Colorado Alex In Exile on August 22, 2018 1:49 pm

The left has long had a problem with choosing the short-term victory at the cost of long-term success. If they’d forced Clinton to resign, the short-term pain would have been balanced out by a Gore presidency. If they hadn’t pushed through the ACA on a party-line vote, they wouldn’t have needed to retain the presidency to keep it from collapsing on itself. If Harry Reid hadn’t killed the filibuster, as the GOP warned him not to, then they would have been in better position to oppose Trump’s nominees.

Speaking of out of touch, the dem candidate for governor of NM, is for major gun control, banning ar15s, etc. This will only cost her votes. She’s using 50% attack ads, and 50% I’ll get you free stuff ads.

A Harley Biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings the girl to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event.

The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, “Sir, this was the most gallant and bravest thing I’ve seen a man do in my whole life.”

The Harley rider replies, “Why, it was nothing, really. The lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.”

The reporter says, “Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a journalist, you know, and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front page. So, what do you do for a living, and what political affiliation do you have?”

The biker replies “I’m a U.S. Marine, a Republican and I’m voting for Trump.”

    The journalist leaves.

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page:
“U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT & STEALS HIS LUNCH”
And THAT pretty much sums up the media’s approach to the news these days!

What did the musician name his 3 daughters?

    @ Jay

I wasn’t responding to you personally, I knew you were the messenger and I apologize for my poor writing. I had seen the reports inserting the “republican farm” into the spin. Daily Mail lead with it this morning in big block letters side column.

The only motivation for them to add this to the story is support the ongoing vilification of white conservatives aka “republicans”.

    Hey all,
The planning for my dad’s funeral is moving along. My mom, my brother, and I put together the following obituary:

    http://forestlawn.tributes.com/obituary/show/Timothy-Frank-Moore-106355968

We’re all hanging in there. Things aren’t great, of course, but the outpouring of love from friends and family has been a blessing. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and kindness.

“Machine Gun Preacher” is starting on rabbit ear TV.
I tried to watch it last week and remember really liking it until my body (mind?) decided to take an hour nap during the middle third of it.
I’m going to give it another try.3 hours is a bit much much for a movie, but this one compels me to watch.

ended up keeping some blues and a couple of sea trout.

    that’s tonight’s dinner menu

  138. Comment by shreddedchi on August 23, 2018 5:01 am

Blues ain’t the best but not bad either. We used to grill them whole. Gut ’em and fill the cavity with onions, Lemons and butter.. Grill them – front whole or rear whole, your choice.

I grew up on that water. 30′ Sea Ray. Fishing isn’t what it was, but it’s still spectacular.
    Glad you’re having fun.

  139. Comment by jam2 on August 23, 2018 5:04 am

Keep a shark if you catch one. Nothing like shark steak on the grill (simple Italian dressing marinade).
Tell him to look for porgy, sheepshead, stripers probably aren’t out here yet…
Hell, make sushi from anything you catch. You’re on vacation!
