I know you’ll all ignore this anyway, but once I get it out of my system perhaps we’ll all feel better.
Let me introduce you to my new music crush. They have the horrible name of “Highly Suspect”, but it’s a bit late to change that. They were a hard working bar band, have been nominated for a Grammy (I think, too lazy to look it up), and been constantly touring for the last few years. They’re rock. They’re bluesy. They jam. And then there’s this …
The lead singer is SO attractive, one almost wants to dismiss them at first. I mean, just LOOK at him:
But he’s actually an exceptional vocalist, and pretty good lead guitarist.
I heard about them through my QOTSA fan group – when they were complaining that they sucked live. Upon researching, I discovered that actually they DON’T suck live, but perhaps they’ve toured too much/partied too hard and lately haven’t been performing as well as they used to over the summer. Because I found some kick ass live videos.
This one is currently getting some airplay – and this is from a little venue called “The Machine Shop” right in Flint:
This is my favorite song- the video is kinda weird/creepy. Dude obviously likes that shirt.
You knew this was coming, right? QOTSA released their new album last week.
Fans love it. Fans hate it. They sold out. It’s a masterpiece. It’s all over the place. Josh Homme said this was a dance album, and he wrote many of the songs for his kids. This song opens the album and it’s a dance-able ROMP:
This is my absolute favorite from the album. The last two minutes of this song are a masterpiece. I’m basically obsessed.
They’re just starting to work the new stuff into their concerts, and I don’t knw what the setlist is going to look like in October when I see them. I CAN’T WAIT. This was over the weekend:
Josh tore his meniscus a month or so back, and he looks like he’s not taking it easy on his knee. /WORRIES.
If you guys really want to hate something I like, I present this. Which I can pretty much guarantee that everyone here will make fun of. Whatever bitches.
Well, I think that’s enough for today, don’t you?

Wakey wakey
That QOTSA track sounds like 70s Bowie.
Likey.
For an older group, y’all certainly have some weird playlists.
I still stick with Gov’t Mule, Steely Dan & early ZZ Top…
Who are you calling OLD Chi?
In my head, I’m – like- 27.
Or pre-MTV Dire Straits, 80’s Joe Jackson, or almost anything you could call “Blues.”
Thank you, Leon.
Tex, I’m obsessed with that song. I think it’s the best track on the album. I can’t wait to hear it live.
I did not hate the performance of Lydia, however, the guy licking the guitar needs his face punched.
I didn’t call you old. I called you older.
WTFITS?!
Oh, good morning Carin!
Mare – the singer guitarist apparently – for his first performance – was supposed to just play him and his guitar. As the day got closer, he got nervous and decided he wanted his bests friends there with him. Enter the drummer and bass player – twin brothers. Ever since they’ve been a band.
As for Josh licking the guitar, there was another gif I wanted to use but I couldn’t find it.
Our overnight low was 100F. There’s a t-storm rumbling off to the north, and we’re getting a few drops of rain.
I got nothing.
I’m listening to Götterdämmerung while I cook some brats for Frühstück.
Wow. In the last hour, temps plummeted to 93F.
You should consider moving somewhere more terrestrial, XBrad.
You know, like Earth.
Well, the mortgage is paid off, and we don’t need a perc test.
That’s because you have no water and life isn’t sustainable on your hellworld.
Xbrad raises good points though.
Sunrise was amazing this morning, BTW.
Alrighty then.
Still can’t find the more button, huh?
(betcha didn’t think anyone would complain about THAT, didja?)
Carin’s not what you’d call an HTML wizardess.
I showed this post to GND and we’re pretty sure we both heard tiny little sobs coming from her belly.
Poor kid. Make sure to play him some Brahms later to apologize.
Brahms is for fags.
I’ve been listening to Sviridov. The whole Russian thing turned me on to some great music.
Anyone here from Jewstin?
I shall listen then at your suggestion, however I must contest that one must be a lover of rectal pooftery to enjoy Brahms.
hear
Didn’t the “moar” button used to just automatically kick in? I’m pretty sure that used to be a setting.
I don’t like change.
hear
She hates us all.
I’ve always manually added the “more”.
Where’s beasn? She’ll like my music.
Whatever. Done. Ingrates.
When I used to write on my blog, the “more” thing just picked a spot if you didn’t insert it.
Text might default that way. Cats F*cking in a Closet probably messes up the algorithm.
It’s on the Tool bar
SWIDT?
There’s a recipe for chocolate coconut-flour bread on the King Arthur coconut flour that I can now highly recommend. I subbed out the sugar for Swerve at a 1-1 and added sugar-free chocolate chips and it’s excellent with coffee.
I take that back, the Swerve is half what the sugar would have been. I forgot that I doubled the rest of the recipe so I could burn through a dozen eggs.
There’s a LOT of hiv injected into this post
Leon, that’s up at our recipe site?
No, I’ll type it up later today. Turned out nice. Could be a little denser, but if you’re craving chocolate and/or have a dozen eggs to use up ASAP, it’s pretty nice.
I’m in the county of Kootenai. That sounds dirty.
hotn-t
you gonna visit geezer?
No. This shit is so intense, at the end of the day I am bushed.
You visiting friends, Hotspur?
I thought it was some sort of week-long lemon party.
make sure you keep your kootenai dry and well powdered –
you wouldn’t want to bring anything home
Powder causes ovarian cancer…don’t do it Hotspert
I’m at a three day training course for Chief Architect software.
I thought it was some sort of Antifa training?
I don’t want to blow your cover.
I thought you were going to this: https://youtu.be/b_zf9Ug1ePU
bleh. I couldn’t sleep last night, overslept this morning, and now it’s too hot to go for a run. I guess I could do laundry, but I don’t wanna…
We’re offering 67k with no contingencies on the 19 acres. If we have to build a hill, better to have more room, plus that has more utilities at the street.
Good choice Leon
I hope it goes through – building the pond/hill is gonna be a lot of fun. You’ll be able to terraform the lot to your specs.
I actually have 5 songs from Highly Suspect dowloaded. I need to find the new QOTSA.
Heavy clay soil, but that just lets me start making pottery. Plenty of water for hydroponics.
I suspect it will, Jam. I may take some willow branches over there and start strategically planting thirsty trees if it does, in addition to the pines I need to wall off the neighbor with.
Pepe, it is awesome. Which five songs from HS? I really like them.
Don’t forget river birch, Leon. Do they survive up there? They love the water, and are quite nice to look at.
Willow and sycamore do very well in MI, I’ll check on birch.
Looks like it would grow well here. Not sure how much water it will use. An adult willow will suck up 1200 gallons a day, sycamore is about half that.
what about phragmites?
There are none on that side of the state. None shall come by my hand nor boot.
Relief supplies donated by Antifa and BLM on the way to Texas
Congrats on your future weed farm. I hope.
It’s covered in weeds right now!
It’s already planted with a weed crop? Cool. Now you just have to get started on the ‘shrooms.
Clay soil is wonderful. All you have to do is layer in lots of organic materials, make raised beds, and in a few months you have the best soil for growing everything. Don’t need timbers to contain the raised beds, either. Clay stays put as long as you keep it well mulched.
I hate digging new beds because it’s so hard and heavy, but when I keep the beds protected with organic materials, the soil is awesome. Way better than the sandy stuff I used to grow in before.
I still want to build a clay oven. All I have to do is start digging. Where it is unimproved, the soil is pretty much the perfect red clay and sand/silt mix.
One of these days…
I can dig a hole anywhere on my little acre and find pure clay less than a foot down. But it’s the grey kind, not the red stuff that’s a few hours West of me. Perfect modeling clay.
Weird, because a few miles east, everything is sand under the topsoil.
I wonder if Trump ending DACA will get a flaming skull?
I wonder if Trump ending DACA will get a flaming skull?
Heh. Maybe from Jeb “please cap” Bush.
Turning it into a big, grassy field is priority 1. Given that we’re building the house next year, I doubt I’ll be doing much gardening. Maybe a pumpkin field or something similarly low-maintenance.
Goats. You’re going to need some goats.
That’s in the longer-term plan.
wish you were closer,
i’d loan you my excavator
You crossfitters are going to hate me.
I’m going to Arby’s for some loaded curly fries (fries, cheese, bacon, moar cheese, ranch, topped with fake cheese sauce)
Should we memorialize Chi’s colon or all of him?
That’s going to be at least 2 courics.
I ate Taco Bell today. I regret nothing.
Should we memorialize Chi’s colon or all of him?
——
Good one, little douche.
I don’t like Arby’s. Probably haven’t had it since it was forced upon me in childhood.
“memorialize Chi’s colon”
Colon only – it’s more appropriate for this joint
My main garden is an absolute disaster. No time for weeding this year, ergo most of the larger tomatoes are rotting on the vines, almost all of the peppers and alliums got choked out by grass. Turnips and strawberries and pumpkins are okay. I might get up early Saturday and rip everything else out and fees it to the birds.
I must have been subjected to the same Arby’s as car I n –
Can’t stand the place and haven’t been to one in 30 plus years
Feed, not fees. Friggin fone.
Well, when they start excavating your new pond hole, maybe ask them to scrape off the topsoil and save it for you in a separate pile.
Man, how do you know when your Jarrahdales are ready to take in for curing? I have a few that are large, ribbed (SYWM), and hubbard blue. The oldest one started rotting on me. 😦
If they are blue you can cut them off the vine and start curing them.
I have 2 I should probably start curing, but haven’t had any rot yet. This year’s tree pumpkin is about 5 pounds and still hanging steady at 12′ up.
My one jarrahdale ‘climber’ fell and broke off at the stem. I’ll be pickling the immature flesh in a few days.
This was my cue to go out there and tie up the other climbing squashes (not Jarrahdales) to make sure they don’t break off.
Never have had a butternut or a tromboncino fall off the fence. Their tendrils are thicker and the fruits are lighter.

She was later drafted by the Browns.
Browns would have drafted the blond girl, and she would sit for the national anthem.
She’d probably constitute an improvement.
Three days of intensive training finished. The time has flown by.
Contractors are conservative for the most part. Architects are mostly women or fags.
Yah know,
I think it might have been a real good idea to put some gas in these and fly them, empty or not, up to OKC or DFW ’til the storm passed.
Now, they’re garbage. Very expensive garbage…
It’s a p-shop.
Southwest actually flew 500 people out of Hobby on Sunday or Saturday night.
Chris,
I thought I heard the airports were back up and running, so I did an image search. That picture is photo shopped.
It’s from here:

Thanks Roamy, that was awesome.
Okay, I gotta be done with artificial sweeteners for a while. Tummy ache isn’t worth it. I’m only eating them to keep up on the eggs. I should probably just sell off some of the hens.
LOL Chrisp, wanna buy a bridge?
https://is.gd/TwZ9uU
I just saw it at Theos place, from Rico.
He didn’t say where he got. You guys are so much smarter than me.
I R dumb.
Roamacita,
Looks like ugly weather coming your way, unless the weather RADAR is P-Shopped…
Architects are mostly women or fags.
Yeah.
This is supposed to be CMN fundraising month. Already replaced with Red Cross. WalMart has pledged up to 20 million already. Trucks were ready to roll with water, diapers, wipes, etc.
I don’t Red Cross or CMN.
Children’s Miracle Network. Money stays local. Local hospital buys organs from PP.
Fuck the Red Cross. I wouldn’t donate my used toilet paper to them.
Oh, actually, I would.
Not sure I’ve ever given to CMN. I gave to Samaritan’s Purse for Houston. Figure I’ll get hit up by the church next.
Red Cross has a bad rep after the floods in Louisiana last year (throwing away donated food) and the 6 houses in Haiti.
Chrispy, yes, the bad weather was supposed to be here earlier, so they cancelled all the after-school activities. It’s rumbly out there, but I don’t hear the tornado sirens (yet).
QT post. Dan was referred to a urologist. Earliest appt is November. I rain manned a friend that works for a urologist. Same guy!!! She’s going to see about moving his appt up. 🙏🏻 Dan: don’t say anything to anybody. One of his dad’s cancers was prostate. I have to keep everything off social media. 😂😂😂
Social media is bullshit.
Don’t forget, when you *donate* blood to the Red Cross, they *sell* it to a hospital.
Haven’t donated to red Cross since I heard about their shenanigans after 9/11. Screw them.
You know what is a good preventative of prostate problems?
Pups?
Arby’s loaded curly fries?

One of the things I detest about ACA is the total dismissal of pre-existing conditions. We paid for insurance way before we needed to. Dan’s family is cancer fucked. His dad survived 5 cancers before esophageal cancer killed him. His mom survived several cancers, but it looks like Alzheimers will take her. Dan explains his cancer history and crickets. Starts showing symptoms and the earliest appt he can get is NOV. Turns out, I have a RL friend that works for the Nov referral doc. She is working on getting Dan in as soon as possible. Dan wants me to keep it on the DL. NO PRAYERS!!! Fuck that shit, I love you guys. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What are the chances that I know the receptionist for the urologist that Dan was referred to?
“Architects are mostly women or fags.”
can’t they be both?
“What are the chances that I know the receptionist for the urologist that Dan was referred to?”
maybe she knows kool and the gang…
She used to work for a surgical oncologist. Got too depressed by all the breast cancer. Takes a job with an urologist. She may be able to get Dan in soon.
Dan is upset with me for being able to translate his referral into English. He wanted to keep it on the DL. I had to Greeksplain
I don’t exactly have a lot of pull with The Man Upstairs, oso, but I’ll say a prayer for Dan anyway.
If you don’t tell him I won’t.
Thanks. He is too private. I ruin his privacy all the time.
Every street is dark and folding
Out mysteriously
Where lies the chance we take
To be always working, reaching out for
A derp that we can’t see
Everybody’s gotta hold on hope
It’s the last thing that’s holding me
Hoping it’s just BPH Oso.
