Here we are, Thursday again. Is Thursday the most boring day of the week or is it one of the other ones? Tuesday? Really, no one cares, time to shut my pie hole. Let’s begin with a fine performance from a band I’ve had the fortune to see twice in my life. Once at UAB where I got stood up by a southern belle when I was doing a one month rotation there and the other time at a place in Worcester called the Memorial Auditorium with my brother who did not leave me wondering where the hell he was since we walked there together.
Oh Yeaahh! Koolaid’s here!
I wonder how the squatty potty trial is going. And should it really be called a “trial”? Is there a money back guarantee? Who among us would take the shipping and receiving job at Squatty Potty, Inc. ?
I think I know where MJ‘s been. He has dropped a lot of hints.
The recent news story about the number of young people living with their parents reaching the highest number in 130 years ( http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/05/24/479327382/for-first-time-in-130-years-more-young-adults-live-with-parents-than-partners ) tells you a lot about the Obama economy. It reminded me of this guy although I’m sure the yoots living at home in their parents basements would deny they were unmotivated.
Gudetama: the lazy egg
Let’s give Thursday a boot in the ass and move on to Friday of a 3 day weekend, the unofficial kick off to summer.

But he does love big breasted women who are stupid and think he’s awesome. So he’s got that going for him.
Meow!
Good luck with adopting Charlie VMax. He sounds like a good boy even if it was the scent of bacon that drew him to you.
After dropping off the boy I’m making a Sam’s run and will look for Meathead’s book. Thanks to Oso for reminding me they carry it there.
Happy 5 day!
wakey wakey.
What does Toms mean about “five day”?
What the fuck is this shit?
Restaurant Depot has wild boar shoulder.
Any thoughts?
Buy now, think later.
Is the Meathead book at Costco? ANyone know?
I’d buy at anything less than $7/lb if I had your equipment.
I went from Trump-curious to all in for Cruz to grudging acceptance of Trump. Then the riots at Trump events and the attacks on Milo and fanned the begrudging embers of enthusiasm into a raging bonfire.
If DJT picks Allen West for VP or SecDef, I’m getting a bumper sticker and sending money.
Or John Bolton’s Mustache for basically anything.
Someone asked me who Trump could pick and Allen West was the only one I could think of (I guess he’s said he’s picking a military guy? I dunno, I’m not paying attention – still in denial phase of grief).
If he picks West, I will put a WEST sticker on my car. That’s as far as my support can go I’m rather sure.
I’m not terribly impressed by Allen West. I’ve known a shitload of LTCs, and can think of quite a few that impress me more.
Yea, well sure xbrad. But the open field of every LTC isn’t exactly what we’re working with.
Meathead book procured. As I wandered by the spice area at Sam’s I wondered if I should get some pre-assembled rub and held off to make my own with the knowledge contained in the barbecue bible.
I briefly considered stealing a bible but remembered Paula worked last night and wouldn’t be available to post bail until she’s done sleeping for tonight’s overnight shift.
you will not be disappointed in Memphis Dust, jimbro.
Leave the salt out of anything you make, add it separately. that’s the most important lesson I’ve learned.
General Mattis would be good, but he’s emphatically said he doesn’t want to be president.

That or stop with all the malware servers for their “advertising”.
I hate 2016.
One of my girlfriends swears by turmeric drinks to help reduce her joint inflammation. Supposed to be good for skin and sleep, too. I just made a batch of coconut-milk ‘Golden milk’ for breakfast. Delicious. Like chai. Going to see how I feel after a week or two of daily use.
Scott is taking me out to work with him today in 90 degree heat. Ugh. Hope it’s not a twisty staircase like yesterday.
Jimbro, I love Meathead’s ‘Memphis Dust’ recipe- without the sugars added. I make it with just the spices. Made chicken with it last night, and it is sooo good.
I like his ‘Big Bad Beef’ rub sprinkled on veggies and eggs, too. ‘Mrs. O’Leary’s Cow Crust’ is also awesome as a beef rub, but I haven’t compared it to Big Bad. One of these days I’ll do side-by-side comparison.
Mrs. O’Leary’s makes a mean prime rib. Wow.
Thumbs up on the Twain quote Jimbro.
Saw a headline this morn. “Foreign Leaders “rattled” at prospect of Trump Presidency”. And I thought “You’re damn right they’re “rattled” Trump is not a PUSSY like Bama, and will not be BOWING to anyone. I want “world leaders” to be “rattled”. I want them to think this motherfucker will not play nice in the face of nonsense.
That’s been on all the news I’ve heard this morning too Troy. Obama is over in Japan spewing the same lines. Anything to keep the focus on him.
A far-left friend posted on FB asking for someone to explain why Trump was getting support.

“In short, because we have a truly awful political class. On the right, there are a lot of people who are pissed at the Republican leadership and view them as either gutless or incompetent at achieving their promises to the base. Instead their goal seems to be furthering the desires of their donor (read, Chamber of Commerce) class. Immigration was the last straw, but it wasn’t the only one. There has been a lot of anger and resentment simmering for a while now. The GOP leadership wants amnesty and open borders because the donor class want cheap labor. They tried to foist an amnesty candidate on us, first Jeb, then Marco Rubio, and then Kasich, rather than accept that amnesty was a dead issue and rally behind a compromise candidate that everyone could support. Marco Rubio was never going to win the nomination, and everyone knew it. But he insisted on staying in past Super Tuesday. As a result, he cost Ted Cruz a majority in Texas, and probably two other states at least. Same thing with Kasich. If both men had dropped out earlier, then Cruz would be the nominee.
It also helped Trump that the Democratic party has given up on lower-middle class whites. The left has become increasingly the party of special interest groups (LGBT, racial minorities, environmentalists, etc) as well as young urban liberals from the upper-middle and upper classes. Increased immigration and amnesty was a way for Hispanic-activists to increase their influence, to add millions of new voters to the census rolls in largely urban (blue) environments, and to provide cheap services (both Hispanic for lower-end, but also east Asian programmers for the tech oligarchs). The result is that blue-collar whites, who have seen their schools fill up with kids who can’t speak English, who read about increasing violence on the border, and who hear horror stories of crimes committed by illegal aliens who are often released back into the States, have flocked to the one guy willing to promise an end to it.
Now that Trump is the nominee, he’s helped by the fact that the left seems to be coming unhinged. The increasingly violent anti-Trump protests may scare a few Trump supporters into staying home, but they also scare undecideds away from supporting Hillary. The 1968 DNC Riots hurt the party, because it gave voters the impression that the party was controlled by violent lunatics. They voted instead for Nixon, who promised Law and Order and stability.
Finally, there’s the fact that Trump’s opponent is Hillary. Trump may be a buffoon, but the Clintons have turned sleaze and corruption into an art form. A lot of Republicans and conservatives, myself included, would crawl naked over broken glass to keep those two and their sycophants away from the levers of power. And Trump so far has been willing to throw punches and get into the mud going against Hillary. He’s attacked her over the Clinton Foundation’s shady practices, as well as her role in protecting her husband against all the women that accused him. He’s the first Republican candidate in a long time who wasn’t willing to take the high road right off the electoral cliff.”
I’ve already been called a racist at least twice by other commenters, but even my friend had to grudgingly concede that the violence of the anti-Trump protesters didn’t look good.
Also, I found $20.
I just looked up the Memphis Dust recipe on his site. He really is a fountain of knowledge in the world of barbecue. He’s got so much background info on why he does stuff which is appealing to me. Not as much as your mom but running a close second.
Good summary Alex. Take away one of the racist comments with my approval of your message.
Thats if you care about the label, which I think you don’t .
“Racist” is left-speak for “you win, I have no argument against what you’ve said here”.
I have just the thing for your girlfriend’s joint inflammation.
Sensing Obama’s departure from the national stage the NPR style guide to pronunciation has dropped the affectation of calling Pakistan “Pock-istan”. I noticed that this morning on the reporting of the drone strike on the al queda leader across the Afghan border.
I’m sure some people pronounce it that way. People who AREN’T Americans dammit!
American motherfucker, do you speak it?!?
In England they’re called pakies, not pockies. They would know.
Alright, I’ve gotta do the grocery shopping now. I delayed it to let Paula sleep longer before I get home and set the dogs to barking. There’s a limit to my niceness and, besides, she’s exhausted enough to roll right back over and fall asleep again.
She is in love with the idea of working overnight since it’s a lot more mellow and a lot of her friends work nights. She forgets that the dogs and boys are needy and she doesn’t get the sleep she needs to function. Thankfully she didn’t sign up for any more nights after tonight.

Is meathead’s book really that good?
_________________________________
That’s what I’ve heard.
Leon, I hate to say this, but I’m going to need your advice.
Are you sitting down or have you collapsed?
Sitting. Go.
Do you have a plan or schedule for lifting? I’m finally at the point where I’m almost all healed up and I need to gain some strength.
And none of that, wear a weighted vest and chop wood bullshit. I live in the city and belong to the Y. You know the Y, it’s where I have dinner with your mom.
You’re going to see the most consistent increases in strength if you have a plan and stick to it. I always have at least a notional plan when I’m in the gym regularly. Starting Strength is a good one after a long layoff or if you’ve never lifted, but that’s a specific program of exercises and planned increases in weight after establishing a baseline.
What are you planning to do and what equipment do you have? Are there specific athletic efforts you want to improve at?
Leon gives his best advice when he’s sitting down.
I want to improve at lifting your mom.
I’m a fan of free weights and barbells in particular, but the Y may not have that. At a bare minimum, you should be walking into the gym with some sort of planned exercises for the day and a way to record any deviations from that plan or specific weights/times/other metrics if you had only notional ideas before you went. You can’t improve what you don’t measure, and records are all you’ll have after a while.
At home we have TRX and some light barbells.
At the Y, free weights, machines, etc. Most of what you’d expect at any decent gym.
More than anything I need to build strength around my shoulders and chest. I can’t go through this bullshit where my arm won’t work for 6 months.
So you need a program, then, and some specific emphasis on strengthening the shoulder girdle and rotator cuff. Are you still doing spinning classes or a lot of leg work elsewhere?
Don’t you have any rubber bands? Start with the purple ones.
I’m swimming and doing spin, but probably 2-3 times a week at most.
Swimming should be good for the shoulder, and biking should be plenty for your quads. If you feel like you need specific leg work I’d add deadlifts first, squats second, if only because deads are going to be an efficient way to also strengthen lower back, core, and shoulder girdle.
I’d avoid bench press or at least be very careful with it, along with anything that involves an internal rotation of the shoulder. Benching your way to a rotator cuff issue is extremely common. I’d go with pushup variations instead (or the TRX/rings), and use dumbbells or the pec deck to do chest flyes. I’d also do pullups/chinups if you can without pain, very good for shoulder strength, though mostly the posterior head of the deltoid. For the lateral head, I’d do lateral raises while leaning slightly forward and being careful to NOT internally rotate the shoulder at the apex of the movement. You’ll also want to be very careful with overhead pressing movements, and you might want to do those only with dumbbells, and go as light as you need to. Anything that forces the injured shoulder into a painful angle to keep up with the uninjured one can hurt it again.
Hop on youtube and look up “athlean-X shoulder” and you’ll get a lot of good suggestions from Jeff Cavaliere on training shoulders without hurting them.
So I guess this is apparently a thing now:

Yea, that’s what a meant.

And to answer your question MJ (if you actually wanted to know): it looks like a good book after flipping through it at Sam’s Club. I’d start with the CTBRC first, then Amazing Ribs and then get the book if you’re still interested.

Eh. whateve. She’s a great player who didn’t even get placed on a real team. If they hadn’t had a jvB she would have been cut.
She belonged on the varsity.
She deserved hearing that. When she got placed on the freshman team – some players had barely EVER played. , she came home and cried for hours.
Teresa, how are you feeling? Are any bags of any kind hanging on your body for any reason? IYKWIMAITTYD.

A whole league of Gay Rugby players? Overcompensation much?
But seriously, if you read the article, he was going to share a 6 year old. Cupcakes? Cartoons? And then sodomy. The whole world is effing nuts.
Mini-me’s high school is keeping the same softball coach. I think they won 2 games all season, and one was a forfeit. The rest were usually mercy rule losses. All the seniors will be leaving, the lone junior is dropping off the team to focus on her AP classes, and none of the freshmen got much playing time, so they aren’t motivated to come back. Looks like four sophomores for a team. Way to go!

Uh, I thought one of the advantages of titanium was that it was a non-ferrous metal, and thus won’t set off metal detectors?
http://www.spinemd.com/news-philanthropy/will-my-spinal-hardware-set-off-airport-metal-detectors
We use titanium pedicle screws but the titanium rods aren’t stiff enough (SYWM) so we go with cobalt chrome which is wicked stiff.

Seriously, real Americans (about 90%) don’t care or WANT legislation for trans freaks. Why would the dumbass 45 GOPers vote for this bullshit? It’s a win to vote against it.
And if Trump wanted to win by a landslide he’d say line item vetoes are in, and only bills funding one department at a time also, FU to the whole fricken legislative branch.
Thank you in advance.

MJ, Meathead’s book is very good, but 95% of it is already on his website.

We offer them a few times a day, she mostly refuses, still mostly breastfeeding. She didn’t like the pork. All she seems to like thus far is broccoli, steak, and applesauce.
When I blackout from drinking, I can follow clues to recreate my night. The sugar blackouts are different. The other night, I went with the sliver of chocolate cheesecake. Could not find my glasses, my sport bra I wear at work, or my headband. Dan is gaslighting me.
I think if they try to swap in Biden for Granny McFailpants at this point they’ll have a full-blown Berning mutiny.
“Dan, have you seen my bra?”
“No. Maybe you left it at the strip club last night.”
Leon, that’s why they need Bernie to drop out. They need time for people to accept Granny McFailpants as the nominee so when she steps aside people won’t push for Bern.

I think they will no matter how late it is. It’s only 5 months to the election, the passion for that lunatic will still be white hot even if they pull this in October.
Applesauce seems like a quintessential baby starter food. Steak and broccoli not so much. Whatever works is the way to go. Paula has often lamented taking the younger boy off of baby food (he turned orange from all the beta carotene and as a young mom way before nursing school she sought the doctor out for that). Now it’s a miracle to get him to eat a vegetable. He does like blueberries thankfully.

Pro tip: Do not buy this product for your woman as a nice gesture.
Why just you woman? Husbands can have periods too now, h8r!
“Could not find my glasses, my sport bra I wear at work, or my headband.”
Break room.
Thanks for the advice leon.
You might a weirdo, but you’re MY weirdo.
Scott, I have strict sugar control in place at work and when out JUST FOR THAT REASON!!!! It gets scary to lose control like that.
‘m, you should do crossfit. Pjmama is doing it.
She’s nuts.
Welcome, MJ. Do check out Jeff’s youtube if you have a chance, he trains a lot of older athletes iirc, and addresses the shoulder injury issue a lot. Building shoulders with an injury. He has a labrum tear himself.
I think she has eaten mostly vegetables, Jimbro. The steak was a surprise success, and I’m still not sure if it wasn’t mostly about the salt and pepper.
I did deadllifts and jerks tonight.
Berniebots are starting to realize their votes don’t count. I bet the DNC will be uglier than the RNC. We have continuous betrayals from the GOPers to keep us riled up.
My kids didn’t really much of anything until they were over one y/o. Just breastmilk.
We moved a college kid down two flights of stairs, 2nd day in a row,
Yeah, we offer but we aren’t pushy about it. Milk production is still fine and we’re doing iron supplement drops, so there’s no reason to rush.
Scott, so you’re saying my dad didn’t need his truck each year, and I didn’t need football players and baseball players to move my stuff?

Scott, do you mean to another room in the same building?
Thanks for the link, Jimbro.
Mare, switched one bag (colostomy) for a different one (ileostomy). Went yesterday for a procedure to check for leaks from the last surgery; there don’t appear to be any, so should be able to get rid of the ileostomy bag in a couple of weeks.
I go to see the surgeon Wednesday morning, and hopefully he’ll schedule surgery for the week of June 6th.
No. We pick up, pack, and ship their furniture and belongings back home.
Roamy’s link is immigration done the right way
Are these seniors Scott? I didn’t live on campus but I recall storage rooms for people staying another academic year. And Boston is famous for belongings left behind by graduating students like a street side buffet.
Evening Hostages. How goes it?

This time of year it’s graduating seniors. The rest of the year it’s estate distribution, antique sales, and small moves.
I described the Boston Buffet to Laura within the last 48 hours
Need 48 mini fridges and 27 tv’s around the end of May? Go to Boston.
I broadforked the rest of my primary garden today. Should sleep well tonight. Saturday I need to finish the big mound out front then build another bed with my pallet wood and fill it with pasture soil. That ought to leave me pretty wiped out too.
Speaking of which, bed time.
❤️ the Roamy link. The Black Power fists and the chick on her phone have rec’vd more attention than the Haitian Black Knight.
(Grrrr…Dan was going to fly out Tuesday like me. I’d go East to shareholders, he’d go West to Vegas. SiL has been blowing up his phone. She can’t fucking be contact for 4 days. That’s all we asked. 4 fucking days)
Guess Rebecca will be sleeping in our bed tonight – storms rolling in. Paul is in College Station, picking up DD#2 to bring her back here to rent a U-Haul (they cost $700 less up here; CS is a college town, so they can jack up the rates when kids move out for the summer)
I’m guessing that Dan gets more “corpse pussy” than the rest of us combined.
Radar says that you’re fixing to get the shit kicked out of you, Tifw.
PG, corpse pussy?

‘Sup, homies?
‘Sup, homies?
You still alive?
huh.
Yeah. Theoretically, I mean.
