Ok, looks like we’re in the lurch for today (WHERE’S ROAMY???) so Imma gonna throw this up.
There is nothing more attractive than a talented man … so this is what I’m going for today.
And then, of course, there’s this:

As far as hot musicians go, I don’t think anyone could disagree with this choice:
This man is aging veery well.
And this video is filled with yummy goodness.
These guys are kinda cute too.
I’m sure I’ve disappointed you all with my rush-job here, but as a ways of apologizing, here’s a picture of Chris Hemsworth.
Thank you all very kindly and have a nice day.

Category is boobs, you don’t fill that one?

I’m just messing with Carin because she was all in on Beck awhile back, and those lyrics are bizarre.

But part of being an adult is learning how to deal with your fuck ups and how to adapt. And fucking up a semester or two isn’t the end of the world. She can recover from that.
It’s also knowing that when they sign on to the terms of the family scholarship, f*cking up is not an option and there will be consequences if they go that route.
Our kids knew two things if they wanted our financial support –
1. they had to choose a ‘productive’ major
2. their studies came first and they had to maintain a certain gpa.
Gender studies, they were on their own. GPA dips below agreed upon goal, they were on their own.
“You can’t, so don’t try. All you’ll do is get everyone riled up, piss each other off, and poison your relationship with her. If you make this into a big dramatic war, and she eventually does well, then she’ll remember it and think that you don’t know anything and didn’t have faith in her abilities. She despise you just a little for that. If she falls on her face, then the constant warfare now will only deepen her humiliation later, and she’ll resent you for that.
A semester of MSU is $12,000. If you could stop a child from throwing $12,000 into the fire, wouldn’t you? It’s NOT just a semester. It’s a freakin car. It’s a huge down payment on a house. And a ruined semester of college is the difference between that “investment” meaning something or “Is that a Soy Venti Latte?”

If she’s as smart as you say, then she’ll quickly realize that she can’t party her way through school. If not, then she’ll have to learn the hard way, either academic probation or expulsion. But part of being an adult is learning how to deal with your fuck ups and how to adapt. And fucking up a semester or two isn’t the end of the world. She can recover from that.
Eh. I think there are plenty of REALLY smart kids who don’t ever quickly realize. It is often a fork in the road moment where they throw things away. A bad semester or two is the difference between pre-med and “Communications” major.
Smaller classes and more hands-on professors aren’t always better. There’s value in sitting in a class where you’re a number and not a special snowflake. It forces you to swallow your pride and ask for help, to find like-minded people and take the initiative to learn. There are plenty of times in real life where she’ll be an anonymous number that the people in charge don’t care about. Better to learn about it now.
Kinda how all those Occupy kids didn’t think they were special snowflakes? nope. Not buying that. There are a lot of kids in those big school – filling the journalism/communication/physical therapy majors who are skating and partying through life. Anonymous is those huge numbers. Being filled with BS about their “accomplishments” in college. It’s so big – you are not even in the same atmosphere as those students who are excelling … so you’re can easily become tricked that you are “the shit”.
A family friend is currently at K-state studying business. Everyone else thought he would flunk out after the first semester, or the first year, because of partying. He had some rough times, but he buckled down and brought his grades up and is doing much better. Sometimes people surprise you. Once they’re away from parents and support networks, they have to learn to survive on their own.
I do need to esplain – Hannah isn’t a partier right now. IF she’s had a beer, it’s been in my basement given to her by her brother. She’s not a problem child.
It’s just I worry about the influences, etc. I think in a big school filled with MAJOR partiers (which MSU is) she’s going to fall in with that crowd. That they’ll lead her astray. I’d rather she didn’t have so many opportunities.
Is she an adult or a child? If she’s an adult, then she’s responsible for her decisions. Don’t like her choices? Then don’t provide the financial support and be done with it. You’re not going to change her mind, and pushing is only going to hurt your relationship with her.
And I’m with Beasn. ONE semester of bad grades, she’s home. Once she switches to a bs/meaningless major she can transfer to U of M Flint.
Well, she thinks she’s an adult. And i agree – she doesn’t realize though how much support she gets from her family. She really does take us, and all we do, for granted.
It’s going to be an ugly wake-up call.
I’m not “forcing” her to do anything. I just want to feel that she’s really thinking this stuff through. I want her to understand the financial obligations she’s taking on. Then i’ll show her all those whiney occupy pissants who claim they didn’t know what they were doing.
No. she’s never going to be able to say she didn’t know what she is getting in to. THAT is what I’m saying.
If I had been offered the scholarships she has been offered (to attend Wayne state) – and my family didn’t REALLY make me think long and hard about it? I’d be pissed when I was older.
I think in a big school filled with MAJOR partiers (which MSU is) she’s going to fall in with that crowd. That they’ll lead her astray. I’d rather she didn’t have so many opportunities.
You’ve had almost eighteen years to teach her how to handle herself. If you’re unsure at this point then the damage is already done.
You can’t control her life forever. She’s going to have to decide, for herself, that the wrong crowd isn’t where she wants to be. Trying to push her to another school because you’re afraid that she’ll be “led astray” only demonstrates that you don’t trust her, don’t respect her, and don’t see her as an adult.
Don’t send her to Flint. Bad water, I’ve heard.
She can go to UM-Dearborn and have a barn stall with spotty wifi for a modest fee or a short chore list involving horses and chickens.
She’s not an adult. She doesn’t work or pay bills or anything.
this is true for just about every high school senior in the country.
She’s a child who doesn’t understand money. I readily admit this. And neither of her siblings understood it either until AFTER they graduated from high school.
I wish they encouraged “gap years” .
As for controlling her life – I want TO NOT have to “control” her life (or as parents call it “provide for her”)
I want her to be independent ASAP. Fucking up in college is not the way to meet that goal.
Right now – she (as the majority of kids now-a-days who go straight to college) see it as four more years of High school.
The “party” doesn’t necessarily involve drinking and drugs. It just means pro-longed non-responsibility.
Homie don’t play that game.
Okay, so Sanders beats Cankles in a landslide, but she leaves New Hampshire with an equal (or maybe greater) number of delegates.
The whole fucking thing is rigged.
Hotspur, why on earth would you think the Democratic party would support a democratic outcome?
I just really want Cankles to get schlonged again – by an old jew socialist.

From what I’ve seen gap years just become an excuse to spend a year traveling and partying.
This is for Pepe.

Then those parents are doing it wrong. Because that’s not what happened in my house when my kids graduated from high school. They started working FULL time – as in 50+ hours a week.
heh, if we wanted things in high school, like a car, we also had a job. Full time on vacations.
Carly dropped out now, too.
Shhh, we’re sleeping!
Most of kid’s friends were given cars when they turned 16. A car is a lot of money. We told the kids that a car is a privilege and if they really really wanted one, they’d find a way to get and maintain one.
I got a car for my eighteenth birthday. It was an inexpensive little CRX. I was responsible for gas, insurance, and anything else. It was a catch-22 situation: I needed a job to afford a car, but needed a car to be able to get up or down valley to a job.
Yeah, and if our kids weren’t going to college they were expected to get a job and start paying rent. The last two years of high school, it was a ongoing conversation of what was expected and why. We didn’t expect them to have a job during the school year because their job was to study and get good grades…which could lead to scholarships. The son blew it off. The daughter got scholarship money. Because of the son’s attitude is why we went the semester by semester, don’t f*ck up or you’re on your own, route.
Once at university, he straightened right up. One reason was because he was finally challenged. Another, I would show him the bills as they came in and he could appreciate what we, and grandpa, were doing for him. He wound up getting an internship his second year and paid most of the rest of his schooling, himself (grandpa spread his help over 4 years) and bought a used car.
I paid for my first car with money I had saved up from shoveling snow, cutting lawns, and paper routes.
1974 super beetle = $1000 in 1978.
I had access to a car, most of the time, in high school, and used money from my jobs to pay for gas. Folks didn’t want me to buy a car until after high school.
A friend and I had about 20 snow shoveling customers.
A good snow would get us about $100 each.
Not bad for a 14 year old kid in the 70’s.
Im still enjoying my gap years. How long do they traditionaly last?
Imma go to school one of these days I swear.
’74 SB is The One for Baja Bugs. What color?
Sorry. I remembered that in reverse. Super Beetles are very dificult to cut and turn.
Not good Bajas.
Its been a while.
CoAlex, had our kids chose the non-college option, we would have helped them get a car after high school. While in high school, during summers, they either used our car, or we drove them to work.
I loved that car. So simple and reliable.
What. Color?
Forest green
We’re going to the bar, to watch the game on the big screen!
Date night!
Speaking of cars, I want an Earth-2 car.
Also, Danielle Panabaker dressed as Killer Frost to go with it.
This is an awful episode.
Evening.
Pig farmers are the most arrogant pricks I’ve ever encountered. They’re helping me get in touch with my feelings, though.
Yesterday after his three-day weekend:
Regular Guy: Why didn’t you do more? I could have gotten twice that done in half the time.
Me: *rabid snarl*
Regular Guy: . . . Well. . . I was just, yaknow, sayin’. *does not speak for the rest of the day*
Today: Regular Guy was my new best friend. Nicest little fella.
I’m surrounded on all sides by idiots.
Supposedly hard-core, rock-ribbed conservative was, up until yesterday, firmly behind Trump, because he “trusts him to fix what’s wrong in DC.”
Now, after New Hampshire, he’s convinced that Kasich is the best of all possible candidates we could possibly hope for.
He even referred to Kasich as “conservative.” I laughed in his face.
Him: “Oh sure, he may have done one or two things you don’t like, but overall, he’s awesome!”
fml
Regular Guy is teachable.
I’ve heard or been part of some variant of that conversation approximately 2.275 million times over the months. I can’t fucking stand it.

He’ll do the right thing when he has to choose between Cruz and Sanders.
I told him that Kasich himself positioned himself between Sanders and Clinton.
And you think this guy is on our team?
“Oh, you just want to get revenge against all the Democrats in DC for the last 8 years.”
No, I don’t want someone who thinks reducing the non-stop growth of government from 4% a year to only 3.7% a year is a victory.

Tennis court can be replaced with outdoor nude tanning salon.
So if Kasich is firmly in the corrupt commie camp by his own words, how does that equate to you wanting revenge against all democrats who have f*cked up pretty much everything?
My buddy had a 74 super beetle. He cut out the roof and put in a sliding rag top.
In Yellowstone we had use starting fluid to get it running.
>>>>So if Kasich is firmly in the corrupt commie camp by his own words, how does that equate to you wanting revenge against all democrats who have f*cked up pretty much everything?
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…………
I support Cruz.
“He’ll never get anything done. Everyone in the Congress hates him.”
A) Which is why he would be so much better as President as opposed to being a 1 out of 100 Senator.
2) …And everyone, including me, hates Congress. So why should I give a shit what they think?
#) why is “doing things” considered important? I’m actually really okay with a complete shut down of all of government, and not just 18% of government. All of it.
I would be happy if he just got stuff undone.
A lot of good things happened in Ohio while Kasich was there.
However, Obama flooded that state with cash leading up to 2012.
It was a 250 mile construction zone when we went to Lapeer.
Lady Gaga.
At least someone did something worth a shit on Sunday.
Lot of good things happened when Kasich was in Congress.
Off to the bar! Toodles!
Hey, James, how are you with .xml files?
When he said he was “left of Hillary” he could have been talking about gay rights, but he NRA likes him, and he’s about to sign a bill that stops funding for PP in Ohio so he’s not a total squish.
I know why he said that. An exit poll showed that 70% of people living in New Hampshire identify as liberal.
I bet he identifies as conservative today.
That’s what I really respect about Cruz. He didn’t hide his feelings about ethanol in Iowa.
He also contributed to the massive expansion of Medicaid spending by accepting Ocare money.
He is not what I want in a president.
>>>>That’s what I really respect about Cruz. He didn’t hide his feelings about ethanol
Bingo!
Kasich is a “go along to get along” guy.
Cruz had won cases in front of the Supreme Court. I’d say that shows he can convince people to see his POV.
Which, correct me if I’m wrong, is what a President is supposed to do, as opposed to wheeling and dealing.

Sometimes one leads to the other
Does anyone see the final two being anything but Cruz and Trump?
Probably a 50% chance it will be Trump vs. Sanders, we’re sooooo screwed.
Hillary won’t beat Sanders on the popular vote, he’s the King of the FSA after all. She might be able to steal the nomination, though.
Did anybody free the army of tiny orange workers anybody else had chained up in their factory today?
Too many people dislike Trump.
I think he fades and the field narrows.
as the field narrows.
I think it’s Trump, Cruz, and possibly Rubio.
They’re all really hard workers with some measure of people skills.
There is 20 some years of video footage of Trump being stupid. I hope he’s not the nominee.
Trump’s unfavorable rating is 60%.
Hillary’s is 52%.
Cruz comes in at 37%.
When the field narrows, Trump gets his ass kicked.
Call me crazy, yeah, okay, just stop it!
Egotistical maniac for Prez and Cruz for Loretta Lynch replacement.
He could indict and prosecute the whole Obama administration under RICO.
Jail them all and execute some for treason.
When RBG dies, and someone notices, he could be nominated for the Supreme Court.
Huh?
Would that be cool, or what…
I like that.
As an AoS commenters noted:
“Trump is not a conservative, he’s the murder weapon we will use to kill the GOPe”…
Will he be a worse president than Obama, more destructive to the economy, world standing, the military?
I don’t see how.
Hell, Trump could either see the USA make a profit or declare bankruptcy…
Interesting Bevel-Gear stuff.

NYTOL,
Al Sharpton is looking for a BIG check from the Clintons.
It’s the only reason he met with Bernie.
ScottW for the win.
Might be looking for a lawyer against my contractor tomorrow. It’s a good thing we regularly took time-stamped pictures to compare to the invoices. Sorry for not putting up HHD.
Too bad Romita. Those fuchers.
My dad used to represent homeowners pro gratis against shotty contractors. He called it “giving back”.
Unfortunatly they dont have any money. Get a guy who likes to lein in.
Contract – $2K for one part of the job.
Reality – $7.3K
We are waaaaaay over the original cost, and they are telling me 3 weeks to finish, for a job that was supposed to take 5 weeks back in October.
(((hugs to Roamacita)))
There is 20 some years of video footage of Trump being stupid. I hope he’s not the nominee.
They’re saving that, of course. you know they are. Plus all the info on the lawsuits he’s filed against people who oppose him.
I think the roof is the only line item that hasn’t increased in cost.
Sorry Roamie. Soooo frustrating, hang in there.
Squishy hugs and good night!
Did you sleep at all, Chumpo?
xbrad, what do you need to do with xml?
Ace is liveblogging Fifty Shades of Grey. It is funneh.
Nevermind, Jay. I’ve found an easy solution.
ChrisP, I’ve just read a bunch of articles about the bike motor after reading your link.
Turns out the girl’s brother is on suspension for doping and, get this, the father and brother were caught on surveillance video stealing two . . . parakeets! The comments are pretty funny.
CoAl, yes it is
Hi Lipps. I did. Off n on. Im back at the kookoo clock shop naw.
Night run
Hell, Trump could either see the USA make a profit or declare bankruptcy…
Well given his business record, unless he can make the US into a reality show he can only take us one way.
In the spirit of Field Marshall Moltke I will say Trump is a very energetic businessman / politician firmly ensconsed in the 4th quadrant.
