I have an idea for all of our politicians on the Hill that want to enact gun laws that only punish the innocent. Since I have no faith in the “you have to vote for the bill, to see what’s in it” crowd, I’ll also be happy to share with folks in all of the flyover redneck states that somehow manage to balance their budgets.
And since we have an Attorney General that has never seen a constitution that cannot be interpreted politically — would have to be up to individual State’s Attorneys and state legislators.
Force cities with high gun crime rates to enforce the gun laws already on the books and go after the criminals that commit 99.99% of gun crime.
Force those that violate the public trust and the oath of their office to be held accountable.
Those cities that choose not to enforce the law and make an effort to take ILLEGAL guns off the street will face incremental fines that go up as each crime with an illegal gun is committed. The law enforcement officials (talking to you Garry F. McCarthy) and mayor will be given warning and then also charged criminally for not enforcing the law by statute.
When you consider that 90% of the guns crimes in this country occur in cities with the toughest guns laws that are never enforced in high crime areas that are run by Democratic machines that would consider this political suicide — this might seem a pipe dream.
However, according to that great sage Saul Alinsky, this would be the perfect time to make this a wedge issue.
We must embrace legal gun control. Embrace it with everything that we have. End gun crime.
End it by taking illegal guns off the streets and by punishing those that refuse to do it.
Before you start going after the people that commit less than .004% of all gun crimes…
Enforce the fucking law as it stands.

We have an opportunity to take an issue and throw it in the face of the hypocrites. They want to own this?
Lets feed it down their throat every crime committed by an illegal gun owner in their districts at a time. Not hard to follow this. Also not hard to keep up with legal gun owners that defend themselves — it’s starting to get momentum.

We just went live with electronic consent for procedures and they have sent out 1 or 2 emails a day with urgent updates to fix fuckups experienced by users. This was purchased as ready to go technology. Someone did not do due diligence. We have several well paid IT and Nurse Manager types working on it. Tell me what was wrong with paper consents again?

If you’ve been to a doctor recently, you will note that the majority of your visit is taken up by the collection of information via a laptop. Over and over. Useless questions that must be asked before the next page can be begun.
And if you go back in a month? It begins again. Same page after page to “insure that nothing has changed.”
We’re paying doctors to do THIS instead of medicine.
Paper is surprisingly resilient to software maladies.
My veterinarian keeps only paper records. Unless there’s a fire, he’ll be fine.

Also, there’s the flip side of the coin- Lex not only let his youngster carry a message to Garcia, he made him do it.
There’s an awful lot of leaders, military and otherwise, that won’t do that. They claim to want you to show initiative, but then micromanage every task they give you. It’s infuriating.
I do remember on particular platoon sergeant that was very good about giving me an order, and getting the hell out of the way. Almost inevitably, I screwed up a few times, but he had my back. No one was killed and no million dollar losses were incurred, I learned, and he learned I’d keep trying.
. Right now, one of my biggest frustrations with health care is HIPPA. Doctors refer you to a specialist, and then never send over your records, magically having lost the damn release form, or just completely forgetting to do it.
Yeah, we had to be vigilant on ourselves raising the kids, when we’d send them on little missions the conversation often ended (mostly with one of them) “figure it out.”
