I am tired of holding my nose while voting Republican

Why is there a not Romney candidate?

Bob Dole (R hold your nose) Loser, endorses Mitt.

John McLame (R hold your nose) Loser, endorses Mitt.

Wait! Mitt lost to McLame? Did he pick up any one in the draft? Has he been practicing?  Just how does he win? He is a loser endorsed by losers.

Why can he beat Obama? Things are different you say Obama is weak. He is a (R hold your nose) candidate. I am tired of holding my nose.  He Lost to McCain last time, we cannot afford to have him lose to Obama this time.

Am I voting for Newt? Unlike Romney who I wonder if he believes what he is saying. I wonder what Newt is going to show up. The conservative articulate one with solid ideas, or the babbling moon base one with  really bad ideas. No I cannot vote for Newt I admit that I like some of his ideas, however between his baggage and record absolutely not. Let me be clear baggage to me means his character has been assassinated and reassassinated so many times that John Q Public could never see the truth.

That leaves Santorim and Paul. Rick is a nice guy and has run a good campaign keeping it focused on the issues that matter mostly. He is a big government social conservative or his record in the senate was. All I have to say is he supported Allen Specter  over Pat Toomey, need I say more?

Just so you know the final candidate, nope not a chance. Not gonna go there.

From the founding of our country there has been a fight between limited government and big government. There were Federalists and non federalists. Guess who wanted a big government? Over the past 230 odd years our government has grown and grown. Isn’t it time to limit it?

Thomas Jefferson or Ben Franklin once said “Those who will trade freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both.”

We get a choice between Obama who thinks that 16 trillion in debt is a good start but we really need to spend more to turn the economy around or Romney who wants to work within the system to bring us back to 2008 level spending. Or Newt the pragmatist who is willing to sit on a bench with Pelosi and talk about globull warming.

All I have to say is Stop the damn spending stupid!

So we have a government that tells us what kind of light bulbs to buy and how many gallons of water your toilet can flush. It even says how much water your shower can spray on you. Wait I forgot that breaking a CFL light bulb releases more mercury into your home than a coal fired power plant. But we need to shut down coal fired power plants and use CFL bulbs because the government says so.  I think I forgot to mention the government tells me what kind of mattress I can sleep on and tells me that if I remove the tag on said mattress I can go to jail.  Intrusive overbearing government, don’t get me started.

My point is, how is Big Government and temporary security working out for us? Isn’t it time for a change? Not Hope & Change but kick the bastards out and change!

Here is what I want my candidate to say/do.

Tell me your vision.  Share how you came to be where you are now, and where you want to be. Give me a look at how we are going to get to this future goal. Show me how this vision is based on the principals that made us great. Tell me how you are building on these foundation principals and how you are going to lead us to a future America that is greater than ever. If you think something is wrong with America tell me how to go about correcting the problem.

This election is about jobs, the economy, and Obama.

If I was running for president I would say that America is a nation of innovation. Innovation creates jobs regulation interferes with jobs. As president I will slash regulations and expand innovation by expanding DARPA / ARPA funding. Energy creates jobs, inexpensive energy fuels jobs.  As president I will cut regulations on nuclear energy, and open areas that previous administrations have closed for drilling. To further stimulate the economy I will implement tort reform. Lawyers and frivolous law suits are stifling the economy. I will slash spending and come up with a plan that can have us debt free by the end of my 1st administration. Lastly I will do all that is possible to undo everything that Obama has done starting with Obamacare. Once that is done for my second term I will see if we can innovate our way into making the moon our 51st state. That is American Colonialism.

  16. Comment by Teresa in Fort Worth, TX on January 30, 2012 6:05 pm

    Great post, VMan!

Slightly O/T, but I’m hoping someone can clear something up for me:

I’ve thought all along that the delegates in Florida were going to be awarded proportionally, and now EVERY news media outlet is talking about Florida being winner-take-all.

Yet, the RNC SPECIFICALLY said that if Florida moved their primary up, they would lose 1/2 of their delegates and NOT be WTA (and there’s plenty of documentation out there to back that statement up).

So why is everyone (including Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday) now saying that Florida is winner-take-all? Did the powers-that-be at the RNC decide to change their minds (and if so, just when did that happen)?

And if it’s not WTA, then the way I see it, there’s still a long way to go, and this race isn’t over by a long shot.

  17. Comment by Teresa in Fort Worth, TX on January 30, 2012 6:15 pm

This is from the Tampa Bay Times, back in October:

New RNC rules, in addition to cutting delegates from states that ignore the sanctioned schedule, dictate that any state holding elections before April will award delegates proportionally, instead of to the popular vote winner. In Florida’s case, the bulk of the 48 delegates will be awarded by congressional district, so a candidate winning eight of Florida’s 25 districts could wind up with nearly as many delegates as a candidate winning 10 districts.

    http://is.gd/mwGLKy

And there’s a letter from the RNC to the Crazy Uncle Ron campaign that addressed the proportionality issue quite clearly (but I’m not going to link anything to RP’s campaign)

  18. Comment by leoncaruthers on January 30, 2012 6:27 pm

    Kilt it again? Dang…..

Found this, though – makes it all as clear as mud:
    http://is.gd/chZQOU

‘Cuz if they do WTA, they’re still in violation of RNC rules, but there aren’t any more sanctions they can impose, so somebody with standing can challenge…..

    Aw, screw it.

It had to be independently verified by another person. Parts too, everything.

    It’s 44 to 36 Obama v Romney.

Romney is still fighting with other Republicans – so THAT affect his support.

Plus – women overwhelmingly – by huge numbers I believe – voted for Teh O.

Plus this : “Among survey respondents, 42 percent identified themselves as Democrats, 31 percent as Republican, and 23 percent as independent. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans in the state.”

In 2008, women voters went for Obama at 56%.

  273. Comment by daveintexas on January 31, 2012 10:54 am

More men shift to the Republican, or a lower percentage of women (still a majority, but like 51% instead of 54%) vote for the Dem. Or larger / smaller numbers of both (turnout)

  274. Comment by Car in on January 31, 2012 10:55 am

The latest Congressional ads are coming out. Surprise surprise, they blame the entire Trillion Dollar Deficit on Boehner and Congress (we have a Republican rep, amazingly enough). But we are going through redistricting, and we are now in Steve King’s district, and he’s like holy water to vampires as far as Democrats are concerned. 1. I would never figure store bought cakes into my budget. They’re not economical. And yet my tax dollars can afford it for welfare recipients.

Duncan Hines has a great cake that one can make for under $5.

  302. Comment by beasn on January 31, 2012 12:03 pm

Hot foods from the grocery store

That does not make sense to me. A cooked chicken costs $5 and would feed a family of four for one meal.

A f*cking cake has zero nutritional value and yet they can ‘buy’ those over a cooked chicken. And that feeds however many fatasses depending on the size.

  303. Comment by Jay in Ames on January 31, 2012 12:03 pm

Want to not have to wait in line, for hours, for a checkup? Buy some sort of health insurance.
