Karma’s A Bitch, No?

  1. Tonight is the yearly Rival football GAME. Say a little prayer that the Clear Creek Wildcats WIN! thank you kindly.

  2. GO CLEAR CREEK!!! Hubby is an alum 😉

  3. speaking of Karma. Yesterday I had to go to the Harris Co. Courthouse to get some paperwork for my boss. I walked in with this guy and said “How does this work”? he said looks like we have to take a number. So, I took one then he took one. As I sat down I saw a 20 dollar bill on the floor (so you know this story is interesting) I took it to the lady behind the Plexi-glass and said someone lost their 20. Not 3 minutes later the guy I walked in with walked up to the counter and said I lost my 20….This woman who was at the lawyer counter shouted “That woman right there (pointing at me) just turned in a 20. Everyone looked at me and I said, “yes, I turned in A 20″…They gave it to him and he turned and looked at me and said, “God bless you”.

  4. What year Aggie?

  5. Great story Sohos. Honesty and integrity seem to be your strong suits.

  6. Nice story, sohos!

    Hubby is class of ’84.

  7. There is so much good music from that movie, Aggie. It’s my mom’s favorite movie, and we had to watch it every time it was broadcast when I was growing up. She has the DVD, and we still watch it a couple of times a year.

Here is another one that sticks in my head: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFSlYyK1G2Q

  8. I was a freshman. Are you on facechimp?

  9. Yall realize that 20 didnt belong to him…I hope the person who lost it was ok.

  10. Ooh Ooh…I’ve got a story, too. My car is broke, so I drove my truck to work. ’86 F250 with a four speed, straight six engine, and exhaust issues. My pride and joy. So I pull up to a light behind a newish Subaru wagon thingy, and it has a “Restoring Sanity Rally” bumper sticker. In the rear view mirror I can see the grey bearded hippy, all Professor-like. So I pull up about an inch behind his bumper and give the engine a little goose. Just then the light turned green and he bumped the car in front of him trying to get away. I waved as I passed them by. I have a little thrill up my leg over that.

  11. Let me reflect on the video that Eddie Bear posted:

Good riddance you fucking socialist assholes. The past two years have seen the auto, student loan, and healthcare industries fall squarely into the hands of government with your votes. You believe that we will be a stronger nation by trading our freedom for infantilization. That minimizing risk makes us all more secure.

May you wake up everyday feeling like the whores that you are.

  12. Hahahahaha, HM!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

  13. I am on facechimp, sohos. Look for me Teresa’s or Brad’s or Andy’s account.

Hubby’s parents and his two bros live in that area still, so maybe next time we are down we can get together!

  14. Sohita!! I hope you have the opportunity to rub Tommie’s face in it this year after the Wildcats win! 😉

  15. Sohos, is Clear Creek’s big rival still Clear Lake, or has that changed over the years? I graduated from La Porte HS in 1978, but a couple of years after that, they changed all of the districting around, because LPHS had become a good team and the Pasadena schools got all huffy about that and wanted out. We used to have the 4 Pasadena schools, Deer Park, LaPorte, Clear Creek, Clear Lake, and I think a couple of others in our district (Pearland and Friendswood, maybe?).

Anyway, everything’s changed so much since I was there – Fairmount Parkway was in the process of being built (my dad used to take me on the paved part before it was open when I was learning how to drive), and there was NOTHING along that road…..

  16. Yall realize that 20 didnt belong to him…I hope the person who lost it was ok.

The hell??? I hope that SOB gets Karma in the ass.

  17. I was sad to see the devolution at the mothership last night, Chief. Not that it matters at all, but I side with your position and have your back if you ever need it.

I’m so glad I avoided that abortion, though. The next time someone knocks attorneys for their egos, I’m gonna point them to a few of yesterday’s AoSHQ threads. Some of the denizens there could give lawyers lessons.

I haven’t been happy with my cursing lately – I do it waaaay to much. Instead of taking the Lord’s name in vain, I’ve taken to invoking Charlie Crist’s name. It makes me laugh. Instead of “Jesus Christ!”, I’m yelling, “CHARLIE CRIST!!!” It’s hard to stay mad while laughing.

  18. The hell??? I hope that SOB gets Karma in the ass.
    ——————–
May he use that $20 to pick up some KFC, get horrible diarrhea in public, and shit himself.

  19. Sohita, I lost twenty bucks. You seen it?

    I WANT MY $20!!!

  20. Interesting DBF collection, MJ! Just getting into it now.

  21. HM, that’s a winner right there 😀

MJ, you are channeling Eddie a bit 😉

  22. Teresa YES! Huge rivals still. My fiance went to Lake and so every year during Creek/Lake week we fight like crazy. (rival stuff) Last night daughter dear and I showed up at home with beat Lake t-shirts. We had to hide them so he doesnt toss them. I have to sit on the Lake side tonight (since they won last year) and my daughter is scared for me b/c I am wearing my shirt. I think I will put a jacket over it. This is TEXAS football after all…Don’t want to get jumped or have a coke thrown in my face. UGH!

Aggie that sounds great! I am going to go look for you on facechimp

  23. Jazz – It was the arrogance and the, “you should have listened to your betters like me and Karl Rove” that made me lose my shit with Drew. Everyone of his posts about COD since the primary have been filled with condescension and thinly-veiled disgust.

  24. We missed a golden opportunity to take this outside: http://crossedtheline.wordpress.com/

  25. MJ! Just getting into it now.
    ———-
The Kylie Minogue pictures don’t hurt either. Hope you enjoy.

  26. Chief , did you read the posts over at PW? Jeff had some great posts yesterday about it, and the comments were pretty good.

  27. we missed a golden opportunity to take this outside
    ———
That’s BS. I put that suggestion up yesterday. You guys were too busy stepping on each other’s dicks to notice.

  28. MJ – STFU! 😉

  29. Clear Creek, Clear Lake, Clear Brook, Clear Spring…what did I miss???

  30. Carin – No. I didn’t know PW was still a viable website.

  31. Missed that MJ.

  32. I just though it was the perfect use of the H8 site.

    MCPO: OK! I’LL BE QUIET!

  33. Shut yo mouf, Chief. Jeff had two GREAT posts yesterday.

  34. True MJ, which is why I kept shit to myself 😉

  35. >>Everyone of his posts about COD since the primary have been filled with condescension and thinly-veiled disgust.

That’s pretty much his shtick. He like to bait and insult the readers. Not sure I understand how thats a winning strategy. I gave up reading his posts a long time ago.

  36. *picksup squished dick

    *hurls it at Aggie

  37. Sorry to throw and run but I’d better get into my to-do list for today.

  38. *picksup squished dick

    *hurls it at Aggie

    NEW TOY!!!!

    *waits for comments*

  39. I’ve noticed a theme over there, Chief. I’m more or less on hiatus from AoSHQ right now.

I will make one analogy that’s stuck in my head since this whole kerfuffle started, and then I’m going to drop it. If this were a basketball team and it were the final minutes of a game, would denigrating comments toward the guys on the floor be acceptable from the team pine jockeys? ‘Cause that’s how I saw COD being treated. Whether it affected the outcome or not, it was bad form. Period. There’s a time and a place for certain discussions, and a lot of people disregarded all sense of propriety to satisfy their own pressing need to be heard. It was fucking selfish, ugly, and short-sighted. I am not favorably impressed with some people I otherwise like and for whom I have a degree of respect.

    Fin.

  40. Hi everyone.

  41. Airdale, check your gmail, dammit.

  42. Hahahaha Hi, Floyd.

  43. Reading between the lines at H2:

True MJ, which is why I kept shit to myself.

  44. Carin – I was not being a smartass (this time). I had PW on my feed for a long time, but Jeff’s “I’m leaving for the sake of my art” shit got old.

  45. Hey, wait…. I thought there was going to be a week’s hiatus on discussing this crap???

  46. Airdale, check your gmail, dammit.

    YOU’RE NOT MY REAL DAD!

  47. LMAO, Car in 😀

  48. crap, I missed Chief’s throwdown on Drew. linky?

  49. Aggie – Shut up and bring me a juicebox.

  50. Hey, Floyd. Is Rosetta having his period this week? He seems all bitchy and emotional.

  51. >>I thought there was going to be a week’s hiatus on discussing this crap???

I thought that applied to Cash On Delivery.

  52. but Jeff’s “I’m leaving for the sake of my art” shit got old.

I can’t quit him. When he’s good (or even writing/posting at all) he’s the best.

  53. Clear Falls

  54. Hey Jazz

    http://tinyurl.com/2emsmtx

  55. MCPO~ Nina had her FIRST golf tournament yesterday and placed 3rd. She missed 2nd by 4 strokes 🙂

  56. I thought that applied to Cash On Delivery.

I was wondering why everyone was so upset about Call of Duty. I’m not into video games, but it’s ok.

  57. crap, I missed Chief’s throwdown on Drew. linky?

    Enter at your own risk:

    http://minx.cc/?post=307871

    Zombie version: http://minx.cc/?post=307897

  58. Jazz: That was the point I was going to make.

    FIN and FIN

  59. Congrats To Nina!

My 14 y/o decided to join the Wrestling team – he starts today. He’s done with soccer for the year, and the coach approached him a week or so ago. I think it was his soccer coach that really clinched the deal – at the sports banquet the other day he spoke about how joining other sports would only increase his soccer skillz by diversifying their training, etc.

I’m happy. An active kid stays out of trouble.

(oh, and so far both my boys got academic awards for the fall season – I don’t know how long it will last, but we’re good so far)

  60. I didn’t know PW was still a viable website.

    That’s cause it’s a blog, not a website. 🙂

  61. Hey, Floyd, go prove to Rosetta you love and appreciate him.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuzd75jmG84

  62. duh. The wrestling coach approached him and asked him to join. He’s smaller and athletic so I guess he figured he might do well in his weight class.

  63. I can’t quit him. When he’s good (or even writing/posting at all) he’s the best.

I gave up on his site during his first hiatus. Always liked him, but was recently clued in to some nasty behind-the-scenes stuff that cast him in a much poorer light. I’m not sure how much of it I should believe, but it came from a pretty reputable source.

  64. Aggie – Shut up and bring me a juicebox Jameson.

    Fixt.

  65. FIN and FIN

    *fist bump*

    Right on, brother. 🙂

  66. YAY! Congrats Carin Kids!!!!!

  67. Good luck to you son, Car in. Wrestling is a great sport for HS kids. Discipline!

  68. “That’s pretty much his shtick. He like to bait and insult the readers.”

    Jackstraw: that PW or Allahpundit?

  69. Gah, I hate it when the Morons fight. The funneh goes away!

At least the H2 provides respite from Mommy and Daddy’s fighting.

  70. Clear Falls

Holy shit. What’s next? Clear and Present High School??

  71. Hey!!!! Another newbie!!!!! EXCELLENT!

Welcome, jayinames. How long have you been lurking? What prompted you to de-lurk?

  72. Sohita, did Aggie’s husband try to mack on you at the freshman dance? There could be all sorts of salacious background here!!! INTERNET RUMORS!!!!

I would be flipping OUT if one of y’all had a connection to my high school. I can’t believe y’all haven’t gone all “mall chick” on us. “OH, MY GOD!!!!” *squeal* “AAAAAAHHHH! This can’t be real!!”

  73. Aggie send me an email at sohosworld at yahoo dot com and tell me who you are so I cant find you on facechimp

  74. Howdy, jayinames!!

  75. Jazz I am still trying to figure out who he is. Include that in email too Aggie 🙂

  76. his site during his first hiatus. Always liked him, but was recently clued in to some nasty behind-the-scenes stuff that cast him in a much poorer light. I’m not sure how much of it I should believe, but it came from a pretty reputable source.

You know, I ignore all that behind the scenes bullshit. Too much he said/she said. I stick with the writer/blogger I like and fuck all that other stuff.

Personalities clash. The internet is horrible for that … it can bring out the worst in people and egos get bent and weird things happen.

I like jeff and I like what he writes – and I’ve learned a lot from reading his site both from him and his commenters. The rest is just internet noise.

  77. ‘Sup Jay. Good to see you.

  78. >>Jackstraw: that PW or Allahpundit?

DrewM. Yesterday was a prime example.

I don’t mind having a good argument, hell that’s the heart and soul of political sites. But when it just turns into an excuse for real nastiness, particularly among people on the same team, it gets old.

  79. Good morning, finders of bags of dicks.

    And Sohos.

  80. Whose turn is it to facecock a n00b?

  81. I like jeff and I like what he writes – and I’ve learned a lot from reading his site both from him and his commenters. The rest is just internet noise.

I understand that viewpoint, though in my case it made him unreadable.

  82. OK Sohos and Aggie, are all of those “other” Clear places real, or are ya’ll just messing with me?

And Jazz, true story – I found out that I went to HS with Mrs. Peel’s aunts; I actually knew both of them! When I found that out Friday night, I went home and drug out my old yearbooks and took them to Cathy and Michael’s house so that Mrs. Peel could see pictures of her aunties “Way back when”.

    Small world, huh?

  83. good morning sweet xbrad!

  84. With the electoral shellacking the Dems took on Tuesday, 2000+ Dem Congressional aides will be out of work come January.

    http://tinyurl.com/23gjuno

They will get to experience first-hand the joys of their skittles-shitting unemployment unicorn.

  85. I’ve posted infrequently, before. Maybe it was under pxystick. Also on IB sometimes and DPUD.

Don’t post much, cuz youze guys bring the funneh far better than I. Even Rosetta!

  86. They are real! I swear. and Aggie I added you

  87. Oh, and Aggie – one of my HS friends wants to friend you on FB. Her name is (redacted – please use email) (Sohos may want to friend her too – she has a “Beat Lake” on her avatar this morning). She’s good people…..

  88. JackStraw:

Glad to see you here, or anywhere. Missed your commenting over at Ace.

  89. But when it just turns into an excuse for real nastiness, particularly among people on the same team, it gets old.

I am reminded of several years ago when you and bb*ck had a disagreement. She started in on you, as she had with several other people she disagreed with. It ended with her disappearing, never to be heard from again, I think. It was a shame – I know some people didn’t appreciate her, but I always enjoyed her comments.

When she wasn’t engaged in fratricide, that is.

  90. Sohos, if anyone gives you any shit at the game tonight, feel free to kick the everloving shit out of them with your bionic leg.

  91. hehehe

Ok, will look for her, Teresa 🙂

    And good morning, Brad *muah*

  92. Small world, huh?

    Unbelievably so.

I so wish some of you were connected to my HS. I had 21 people in my graduating class, though – probably not even enough to fill your homeroom. I went to a boarding school, so I don’t ever see my classmates, and my school closed, so we don’t have reunions. I just don’t expect anyone to have connections with my school.

  93. “They will get to experience first-hand the joys of their skittles-shitting unemployment unicorn.”

And, they get to join the healthcare pools that they specifically exempted Congressional aides from when writing all of that lovely legislation. NOW they’re not going to think all of those groovy government goodies are so great, huh?

Ah, Karma – is there anything she can’t do?

  94. I understand that viewpoint, though in my case it made him unreadabl

I don’t get involved in other people’s fights. No one represents themselves as having done wrong. It was always the other party who was the asshole.

So, I judge only by what I see/read with my own eyes. Keeps things simpler.

I’ve gotten in some epic battles with people I only knew through the internet. I’d bet they’d tell you I was a big old, meany, bitch.

    shrug.

  95. I’ve gotten in some epic battles with people I only knew through the internet. I’d bet they’d tell you I was a big old, meany, bitch.

How could they say something like that? You’re not that big.

  96. Oh funny story about my leg….yesterday I had to go to my female doc for my yearly and she saw my leg and was like what the hell happened? So I told her and she said, I have the same injury. Pulls her pants leg up and shows me her leg. She has had 3 reconstructive surgeries. I have had only one so far, and her scar was there just smaller than mine. I asked how she did it and she said skiing. Much cooler than my story. She said you just have to concoct a good story for it… so I am now thinking of

Well we were on the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro when all of a sudden…

  97. They are real! I swear

    **THUD**

  98. Don’t post much, cuz youze guys bring the funneh far better than I. Even Rosetta!

Well, welcome, jayinames. And we’ve noticed you now, so you have to start commenting more regularly. There’s no going back.

You don’t get points for being nice to Rosetta, either. 😛

  99. Hotspur – Great voice for a man of his age. And yes, I particularly liked the 2nd one!

  100. How could they say something like that? You’re not that big.

    See, that’s my point!

You can’t always trust what people say 😉

  101. I’d bet they’d tell you I was a big old, meany, bitch.

    You’re so transparent, Carin.

  102. Nina had her FIRST golf tournament yesterday and placed 3rd.
Wonderful! Please pass along my congratulations!

  103. hahahahaha! I think Teresa is confused 🙂

  104. jayinames, huh? As in Ames, Iowa? Iowa ain’t so popular here right about now…

  105. I sure will!

  106. >>Glad to see you here, or anywhere. Missed your commenting over at Ace.

Thanks. I still comment on Ace’s or other moron’s threads when I have the time (damn work). But most of the commenters I knew have left to places like here.

    >>I am reminded of several years ago when you and bbeck ahd a disagreement. She started in on you, as she had with several other people she disagreed with.

Funny, I used to argue with bbeck a lot. She was pretty good at swinging from the cheap seats but I never really took it personally. We actually had some really nice chats but she could be merciless at times. I guess I draw the line when its a blogger and that just likes to go off on readers with insults and character assaults. If I wanted that I would have stayed married.

I think bbeck disappeared mainly because her hubby retired from the service and came home.

  107. I’d bet they’d tell you I was a big old, meany, bitch.
    You’re so transparent, Carin.

Well, I’d counter that I’m not a big old meany bitch … and which side would you trust?

I’d say there were crazy, stupid, hoe-bags.

Who are you to believe? You werent’ there. You don’t know what I said to piss them off.

Actually, it was an epic fight i had with a group of mom that shoved me into starting my blog.

They told me to stop talking politics, so I did – I took it to my blog. Then they complained I was talking behind their back. Which wasn’t true, I didn’t mention them at all. They were merely pissed that I was still about to voice my Republican opinion.

But, then … that’s MY side of the story.

  108. MJ – I really like the Trentemoller. Chris Lake, too, almost as much. I’m tepid on the Dubfire, but that’s only one track, and I don’t know any more from Dubfire.

  109. xBrad – I don’t hold grudges. . . it ain’t good for the digestion. If I’m offered an apology (which I doubt), I will gladly go back to not disparaging cob-loggers during meetings of the {{INNER CIRCLE}}!!

  110. What really pushed me over the edge was when they told me to eat a bag of dicks.

  111. But, then … that’s MY side of the story.

I was being facetious, not trying to revive old hostilities. I’m sorry.

  112. Fair enough, MCPO. And I suspect Ace is noticing that several people are upset about Drew and Russ.

  113. What really pushed me over the edge was when they told me to eat a bag of dicks.

    I don’t have a bag, but I have a place for you to start. . .

  114. What’s interesting about this whole dustup is that it only applies to Delaware.

The scenario is nearly identical to Florida. But early on, when it wasn’t clear at all that Rubio could win over Crist, I don’t recall anyone who made the argument to support Crist on “pragmatism” grounds being shouted down as a RINO apostate.

It’s kind of close to the Alaska situation too, but everyone and their brother fell in behind Joe Miller over princess whatsherfuck.

Why are all the passions inflamed over this particular race? My theory: People (not all, but many) see O’Donnell is a proxy for Palin.

I hope I’m wrong. Failing that, I hope we get this shit out of our system well in advance of the 2012 campaign if Palin runs.

  115. Geoff, unemployment unchanged at 9.6%, but 150,000 jobs were added. Care to explain that?

  116. Yes, xbradtc, Ames IA. And I consider that Winterset guy a friend, too. Scratching my head on this one. Don’t know MCPO that well, but he seems like he has his head on straight. For a moron, that is. I’m just leaving my feelings on the matter in the ditch with Obama’s car.

Really not enjoying all the red on red in the moronosphere at the moment.

  117. My theory: People (not all, but many) see O’Donnell is a proxy for Palin.

Great insight! Now, go find out were the bugs are in the 10M lines of code in the Volt.

  118. American government as state terrorism unleashed against the world.

    All sorts of crazy there.

  119. What really pushed me over the edge was when they told me to eat a bag of dicks.

Is a “bag of dicks” more or less offensive than a “bowl of dicks”? What if the bowl of dicks has green clover, yellow moon, and blue star marshmallows in it, too? What if the bag of dicks are Olestra dicks? Does that change anything?

  120. Jay, Wasn’t really trying to stir up shit. Not this time anyway.

Have you ever stuffed any of that Iowa tall corn up your ass? If not, why not?

  121. But, then … that’s MY side of the story.
I was being facetious, not trying to revive old hostilities. I’m sorr

    Oh, no problem.

I’m just explaining why I am very hesitant to take sides in issues that i’m not personally involved with. Especially over Algore’s internet.

  122. Yes, xbradtc, Ames IA.

I’m so glad it wasn’t “Willie Ames.” We’d have to call you “Chachi.”

  123. Carin – Call me so I can yell at you, K? No particular reason, I just have the feeling you need some hollering.

  124. xbrad, we leave that stuff up to you outlanders. We’re already full of crap, don’t need any more up there.

Back to celebrating Chester Culver’s defeat.

  125. >>I don’t recall anyone who made the argument to support Crist on “pragmatism” grounds being shouted down as a RINO apostate.

The cobloggers didn’t call Rubio supporters stupid assholes. I know it’s juvenile, but it really is a matter of “he started it”. And then it became “he won’t freaking drop it”.

  126. Warning: Eating a bag of Olestra dicks may cause anal leakage.

  127. MJ, wise choice on the Kylie Minogue pics. She’s a cutie. Haven’t listened to the tunes yet, because of crappy connections, but I’ll try this afternoon.

Kylie was, of course a Load HEAT girl once.

    http://xbradtc.wordpress.com/2009/04/06/load-heat-40/

  128. Carin – Call me so I can yell at you, K? No particular reason, I just have the feeling you need some hollering.

    Ha. Yea. Sure.

    I’ll get right on that.

Right after I finish this bowl of dicks.

  129. Yea. Sure.

    I’ll get right on that.

Right after I finish this bowl of dicks.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I love you for true!

  130. Back to celebrating Chester Culver’s defeat.

There has to be something more recent that Native Americans can celebrate. Besides, Little Bighorn isn’t in IA!

  131. >>Right after I finish this bowl of dicks.

    Those aren’t raisins.

  132. 😉

Ok, I gotta go read to the kids.

    BBL.

  133. H/M – I thought you acquitted yourself well yesterday. Kudos.

  134. Oh, my. I just got thru reading the highlights of the red-on-red comments in Drew’s victory lap post. And then I read this quote from his latest post:

“Fortunately for you, Obama’s awesomeness will now enable him to spend more time explaining why he’s right and you’re wrong.”

    Ummm.

  135. Cuffy – Johari window.

    >>Ummm.

    Indeed.

Anyway, off to walk the dog or flog the dolphin, whichever comes first

  137. “Fortunately for you, Obama’s awesomeness will now enable him to spend more time explaining why he’s right and you’re wrong.”

    Ummm.

“Irony” does not mean “like an iron.”

    WHERE’RE THE TITTIES?

Fuck you, Floyd!!! There’s a reason Friday comes around once a week, and it’s got nothing to do with your weekly trip to Ted Drewes!!!

  138. “Fortunately for you, Obama’s awesomeness will now enable him to spend more time explaining why he’s right and you’re wrong.”

    Um, wait, what??

  139. Johari window.

I loved that show. Marsh Tracy rocked.

  140. I’ma keep spitting bad puns and stuff. Eventually, I’ll hit a winner. The rest will be tiresome.

  141. I promise. 🙂

  142. >>I thought you acquitted yourself well yesterday.

    Acquitted? I ALWAYS get acquitted.

  158. Nice Kylie Minogue pics xbrad. She’s one of my favorite all time hotties.

Jazz: Dubfire is a bit different, but I thought you’d like the others.

  159. Geoff, unemployment unchanged at 9.6%, but 150,000 jobs were added. Care to explain that?

160,000 people entered the workforce last month. But it’s always tricky comparing jobs added and unemployment rate: the former is taken from the establishment survey (i.e., polling companies), and the latter is taken from the household survey. They rarely match up very well in any given month, though over time they tend to agree.

  160. Keep telling yourself that. Us guys here don’t always acknowledge it, but we NEVER miss a bewb shot.

*still transfixed by the bewb echoes*

  161. I love that my job keeps me flying so much. Now that airline security has been improved so much, what could possibly go wrong?

And a happy Guy Fawkes day: “the only man ever to enter Parliament with honest intentions.”
