When I heard Clinton’s speech, I was wondering why he gave such a good speech to help the man he detests. What was in it for him? Now I have a theory. Clinton’s speech was calibrated to give enough bounce to Obama to win accolades for Bill and reflected glory for Hillary, but not enough bounce to drag Obama across the line. No one is going to fault Clinton that his speech was not good enough to land a win for Obama, but the speech reestablishes him as the top dog in the party.

He was rushed from the golf course. He didn’t want to waste a nice Sunday sitting around to see if it was on.
I read that Hillary, Petraus and Panetta were pushing for it, and JEF and his pet rodent Valerie were resisting it. I am sure there were tight agreements in place that if the raid failed, JEF was not going to be assiciated with it, and other heads would have rolled. I am sure Petraus put his neck on line, and it is possible that Hillary did too. Just to do the right thing and keep the petulant child happy.
I think “the perfect moment” can take days or even weeks.
