I feel sorry for the guys working in the National Cemetery. It was raining during the service, it rained all yesterday afternoon, it rained most of the night, and it rained this morning. We went back out to the cemetery to pay our respects to other family buried there and were surprised to find my uncle already listed in the database and buried with a temporary marker. Either they buried him in the rain or in the dark. I’m betting on in the rain, given the multiple other funerals held yesterday.

I think I have another 6 weeks — at least — before I start getting eggs. At least the chickens are entertaining. When I do start getting them, though, I anticipate being slightly overwhelmed.
Also, I appear to have gotten a legit straight run, so there won’t be any coq au vin. I’m seriously hankering for that bacon explosion, though. Can’t start it until after the potential bike buyer guy shows up.
12 of my chickens were sold as pullets – and only 1 is a he (we think.) That’s pretty standard. My six bantams were were straight run, which means unsexed. 2 of those appear to be roosters.
My last batch of 12, one was a rooster from the outset, and another developed male sexual characteristics later. @@. You know, like Chaz Bono.

I started giving mine layer as soon as they were big /clucking. They never had the runny eggs, and I never had any problem with them eating it.
I’ll switch when they run out of the last bag of grower feed, then. Should be about 3 weeks anyhow. I didn’t want to start it too early and make them sick.

OMG, Last night was a mistake. The neighbors had some kind of pineapple that they infused with vodka. I am NOT a good vodka drinker. I do remember that they begged me stay so we could watch ‘Act of Valor’. I was the only military guy they know, so I stayed.

That’s awesome. Do to the pilot thing I’ve always been really aware about eye issues.
I had to get bifocals this year. It was getting hard to look down at the instruments then focus out on the runway.
Once I got used to them it was a piece of cake. The doc made sure i drove with them all the time to ‘train’ my eyes to look low for the instrument scan and look ‘up’ for distance vision.
So far it’s been a pretty seamless transition.
I successfully slept in late after reading the clusterfuck live last night and now it’s a workie work day once I scrub the goo from my eyes and set up the coffee drip line. Did I see you were working today too? That means no beer chugging, sips throughout the day, you know.
